1A Auto: Repair Tips & Secrets Only Mechanics Know The bolt you removed at 3:10 wont come off i already took off the nutt no issues but when trying to hit it with a hammer it goes absolutely nowhere and putting an impact wrench on it doesnt do anything
How much is the part.
you website needs some serious work. Unable to choose trim for a honda accord. Search bar does not find results cv axle, sidebar is horrible. Shopping elsewhere. Peace.
This video gave me the confidence to replace a broken cv axle. Great camera work and explained well. Thanks! Im 58 and remember when there was no youtube with helpfull videos like this! It makes it easy to do the work yourself and save big money!
Video super helpful. Was able to replace driver side axel myself in about an hour and save a ton of money. I think I could do the other side even faster since I did this one and watched the video. I thought this was going to be an all day job. Thanks so much for posting. I appreciate the pace and letting us know the sizes of the nuts and bolts, saved a bunch of time trying to figure out what size. Huge difference in the handling of the car, no more shaky steering wheel and no more clicking when I turn right. Steering feels more solid. 2005 Honda accord EX.

This has been the best demonstration of anything I've seen on the www, so many thanks. I couldn't find a 32mm socket for the axle nut at home and I knew I bought a socket just for some job a few years ago. I found it and it's 36mm and luckily, it fits my 2007 Accord. My car failed Virginia inspection. The inspector wrote "rack and pinion boot broken" but it was the CV boot, left side. Rack and pinion look fine. I've had no steering or suspension failure on this car. I'm going to replace sway bars, lower ball joints, inner & outer tie rod ends, & all boots both sides because I have 110,000 miles and I think the right side boot is also leaking grease. That will make me confident I'll never ever need to replace any of these components again and it will be much easier during the axle replacement. Otherwise, I might need to pay for an alignment now and again if something failed in the future.
You’re my hero! Great video!
What I loved most is that from the beginning to the end, you were doing and explaining as you went!
If this 30 min video were on a different channel, it would most likely be 5 minutes of work and 25 minutes of talking about crap
Yours is amaZIN!!!! Love it dude!!!

Great video, one of the best I've seen here. Kind of glad I had somebody else do it the other day though, as painful as the cost was, replaced both left and right axles, 2003 Accord, 270K miles. Not quite so glad I clicked the link and saw how inexpensive the parts that were replaced could actually be. As they say, oh well. (It will make me think a lot more before telling them to just go ahead and do it the next time something "major" needs to get fixed.)
Nicely done. Gives me an appreciation of how much is involved in replacing the axle.

I really appreciate the good choice of camera angles and the music not being loud ralative to the commentary.
An excellent video. Thank you. Very professional, to the point, and no useless palaver.

Best video I have ever seen! Doing this tomorrow! It’s going to take me forever but this will really help! Subscribed
Only gotta be 2% smarter than what you're working with and you're obviously 150%, thanks for the wonderful explanation and walkthrough. This is gonna be a lot easier with your help. Thank you for this video.
Professionally presented!! Good camera angles that facilitated an excellent How To!!
Thanks!!
That's a lot of work to a change CV Axle. I guess I won't be getting an Accord! Great Vid..."One Love - Bob"
It's a lot more work on a lot of other cars. Accord's are easy relatively speaking. It's a lot of work to change a CV axle just in general lol
About to do this job on my 2004 honda accord thanks for such great detailed information!! This is why I buy from you guys!
+Benjamin Nicholls Thank you for your feedback!
@@1AAuto Is this the same way done for a 2004 Honda Accord 4 cylinder lx? 2.4 liter? It looks like it is. I changed out the sway bar link stabilizer however now I know that this is the job that needs to be done.
@@BennyB00per yes. It is
Step one: have a lift
Awwww crap.
Step two: stop losing the 10mm sockets
DAMNIT!
Step three: Have an impact wrench - FINALLY! Something I can do.
Excellent camera angles and clear views!
+unebonnevie Thanks for the feedback!
Nice! Took less time than expected, now I have spare time for some CZcams 👊😉
Fantastic How To video! Made the job look simple.

This is a good dude! Nice work.
Great video. I have an accord that first drive on cold morning feels like the road is bumpy. It smooths after a couple of miles . Wonder if that is CV going bad?
Great video. Had it out and new one in 30 minutes
If you don’t have an air chisel is it still easy to push the axle out of the wheel bearing like you did?
Excellent video.Thank you

"I've got a swivel, I've got my air gun, you can use a ratchet. You do you boo boo" ,🤣🤣 lmfao great video.
Im going to do this this summer. I think im going to go ahead and take the shock fork off cause knowing my luck i'll rip the boot getting the new axle back on your way. Great great great video though!
+I Allison Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
Thank you great video.
Thanks for your video. So is the axle nut for an 08 accord, also size 32 mil ? I need to do mine
My 03 v6 was a 36MM ...
Thanks for the video. I noticed after replacing mine, that the boot is sometimes rubbing against the lower control arm. Now I have a pinhole size leak. Anyway 2 adjust this?
+Jacob S Thanks for watching! You should make sure that the vehicle has a proper alignment and the parts were reinstalled correctly. If the boot has a leak you will have to have it replaced.
Any thoughts on what’s going on if when I removed the axle the transmission fluid all leaked out. Is it just a deal or does that probably mean my transmission is shot
Hey what about the balance mechanism on the oem and not on the replacement parts i always struggle finding an axle that wont vibrate like the oem one
hi a question about the axle nut is it 32mm or 36 mm because in the usa the honda accord i have in europe is called acura tsx,but i see on the tsx the nut is 36mm
It is 36mm on my Honda Accord 2007 SE V6.
Is the oil coming out when you take the driver saft out??
Cv axle on the
spindle end is essentially a massive swivel type part
Wow I always known that but it’s just cool how it can still rotate on 2 axis
Is this the same procedure if the car has a manual transmition?
My steering wheel shakes a little bit after take off and shakes more at around 60-70 on the freeway. Could that be my axels? I got an 05 Acura tl
This video is fire!
Muchas gracias 😊 !!!
Thanks for your knowledge

I also would definitely recommend removing brake caliper to relieve stress on hose and it will make removing much easier.
will this require an Alignment after installation
Never seize is my favorite thing in my chemical cabinet. I work in Nh and you learn the handle every fastener with kids gloves. Even lug nuts can get stuck and break occasionally.. It would be great when you get the cold weather package in a car it means they add never seize to every fastener.
+Kristopher Libby Thanks for the tip!
I’m working on my 05 accord & the bolt connected to my control arm is not budging. I used a hammer but I’m only ruining the nut that was holding it in place. Any ideas?
Melt it off
You can lift the control arm with a jack instead of lifting manually and using a screwdriver.
Where have you country 1A Auto parts
Nice one, I was wondering what the dampner in the middle of the axle was for and why the new one didn't have it, instant panic!:)) 👍

You guys have great videos, but I wish you would demonstrate the failed part.
+tserevenad Thanks for the feedback!
Hi 1A Auto, does the snap ring on the transmission end of the CV axle ever come loose and get stuck inside the differential? If it does get stuck inside the transmission then when what can be done to remove it? I have this fear it might happen if I try to pop the axle out of the transmission.
+questorhh Thanks for watching! That can sometimes happen and you will need to remove it before it causes damage to the transmission.
@@1AAuto Is it difficult to remove?
How do u get cv axke boot removed from transmission
You do you Boobo lolololol Great Video. You saved me some money
Thanks for A1 .. * Note * for Acura TL Take the strut wishbone off. It takes a minute (trust me).
What is the part number . I changed mine with AutoZone and two Napa axles and had the axle wobble.
+Ed Seda What is the year, make and model? We can then check our inventory. Thanks for checking us out!
Do you know why my cv axle not wanting to fit all the way in the spindle. It just grinds it
+Juan Moreno We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
Tell me A1 now what would you do if that wishbone bolt is seized in the bushing in the lower control arm???
Hit it harder
So what did you do? I’m stuck at this point too
is anyone watching this bc they tried doing a fwd burnout and broke their halfshaft?
I punched it from a stop light
Do you have a shop here in Los Angeles?
+Cutie Without A Care We are an online retailer so we do not have any physical shops. Visit us at www.1aauto.com
I just did this on my car and I just removed the wishbone entirely instead of the sway bar link.gave More room and it’s easier than dealing with the link
Amazing content. Thanks for sharing.
Que número de parte coloco para comprarlo
I died @8:56 when he said you do you boo boo🤣

Can a 03 Honda axle fix 03acura tl driver side ?
+Lord Vadar1 If you have a 3.0 2002 Accord it will fit.
🙏
Why the difference between the two cv axels
Lol hit the nail on the head... I am replacing mine because of the dampener snapping
2:37 thats the lower part of your strut fork, the lower part of the strut is above the cv
also good to flip the castle nut before hammering it
11:01 That brake line is SCREAMING!!
yeahh.....it's gonna be the shop for me.

Dont kno what tools he uses
This is the dude from TRQ
36mm axle nut socket
Try it on the garage floor on your back and nothing comes out that easy 1 you need a torch and good tools and a strong back..
in the middle of doing this job in the garage now, everything's coming apart like butter for me. Just need the right tools.
I just did both sides on the floor with jackstands, not a problem.
Experiences on how difficult it is vary depending on what climate you live in (winter salt).
U r in a shop, use a stand jack to jack up the control arm up to line up the wishbone hole man...
Without a rubber damper in the middle that thing will vibrate
If you really think Honda putting that damper on to limit NVH concerns had no merit.then you are mistaken. This is the reason why we do not deal with aftermarket parts for the most part.. I'm sure 1A Auto engineering department is superior to Honda....yea right.. again this is the reason why confident automotive technicians try to stay far away from aftermarket parts as possible and practical
Looks complicated, its' no wonder why it costs so much to repair.

That thing was bending,
My 2007 is very different than this model
Wow let's not take note of the carrier bearing or whatever that is in the middle of the axle
There's got to be some kind of clip holding the axle into my transmission because I can't get it out for the life of me
Where's the power tools

Can someone give me a list of all the tools I will need
Andy de Bruijn he has a list in the description🧐🤔🤦🏻♂️🤨
haha he didnt say you do you boo boo lol
I'm surprised they edited out all of the cursing. If I did that job every other word would be inappropriate.
This guy is rough on the parts. And he's using a chrome socket on an impact. Not to mention dropping a tire on the ground like that to start can actually do damage to the belts.
Hi,
It would be great if they could put subtitles in Spanish. I think they would gain many more likes on the page and it would grow more. Also that they could export their parts to Mexico greetings from Mexico greetings.
This is the US, dude. We speak English. I would be watching a different channel if there were Spanish subtitles during the video.
My anxiety went crazy with guy explaining how to do this there has to be some else that does have ADHD to explore this
