    One of the better video's,
    You explained the re-torque for the make and year, 80lbs & 26lbs
    That helps alot,
    as well as that only the top slide pins has that boot.
    I was wondering why my replacement kit only had 2 slid pin boot tips, instead of 4

    I am fixing to go get her Honda accord 2007 that needed some break job, i don't know what to ask if he did it or not , but he is Larry and been my mechanic for last 20 years on a Lexus and Honda....
    Tks for the video and great job on the break. 👍✌

    Very good instructional video. Curious what "anti-seize" spray lubricant you used on the wheel hub at the 10:25 mark...does it need to be a high heat product or just a rust preventative?

      While either way will work, the way she did it is precisely RIGHT! If the brake master cylinder reservoir is full then pressing the piston in can result in overflow of brake fluid from the master cylinder getting all over the chassis paint underneath the master cylinder. If this is not thoroughly cleaned immediately, the brake fluid will remove the chassis paint! Best to stay with the way she did it. ASE Master Tech.

    I'm confused about the silicone paste. The slider screws when you removed them had grease, and the presenter said previously that whoever did the brakes put too much grease in or didn't change it at all. You then apply the silicon paste to the bottom side of the tins when installing them back onto the caliper, which leads me to believe this paste has hold to it. Why then did you put it in the slider pin, which I assume needs to slide, and before had grease, which doesn't hold, like I assume the silicon paste does. Is the silicon paste a lubricant?

    Could I paint the part even under the tins by the boots with rust resistant paint?

    • @michaeldavis4746
      @michaeldavis4746 Před 2 lety

      No not needed. The caliper is already rusted and if you spray paint it will continue to rust and swell under the paint. Simply do as she did and remove any loose rust and clean it thoroughly with brake cleaner. Apply a thin coating of silicone grease on the clean surface and install the brake tin.

      To reduce the possibility of internal rusting of the steel brake lines, the brake master cylinder and caliper piston. The brake fluid should be changed once per year normally about 12-15K miles. Since brake fluid absorbs moisture very easily (it is hydroscopic) it is important to flush out the entire old brake fluid with new brake fluid otherwise you risk major repair expenses down the line. Once the brake fluid is replaced, you will notice a real improvement in braking with your vehicle. ASE Master Tech.

    I need my entire suspension inspection, re-secured/re-installed (new bushings/enforcements) or just replaced - or a mix of whatever is best.
