- Hello airsofters,
in this video, i want to show you the different ways to make the Runcam Thumb Pro work as a headcam for recording your gameplay. Originally designed as a lightweight camera for first person drone flying, it also brings some benefits in terms of Airsoft. I you find the video helpful :)

I run a 20,000mah powerbank for my home built antifog unit (€25 all parts). The powerbank is kept in one of my M4 pouches on the chest rig, but could be equally at home in a belt mounted pouch or backpack.
I ordered the Runcam Thumb Pro 4k W model and will use this as my headcam, using the settings as found on the internet to avoid soft or blurry focus.
Some correction for you .
These cams ARE NOT for FPV flying since they don't have a live out video feed. They ARE FOR FILMING when mounted to any UAV drone though, to RECORD to flight, not to FLY WITH.
16 grams, not 60 grams as you said
and finally 5v not 6v as you kept saying (but you did correct in post)
Runcam Thumb Pro is fine when used with the free GyroFlow program; you just need to set LOTS of sync points. Stabilise the footage, export it, then use that footage in your regular video editing software since it's stabilised by that point.
Sure you're right - thanks for correction 😊
napoleon total war! Great Video, again! Looks like a "nice to have " Airsoft camera.
Haha, and I even do not have a DVD drive anymore to play it. Times change - thanks for the props!
I also did this a year ago on my motorcycle helmet. But instead of a USB power bank I used a 2000mah 3.7v lithium polymer battery its way smaller and very light. I just added a TP4056 module its a very cheap Chinese charging board for 18650 battery, it has DC - DC step up converter for the battery to get 5v for the camera. I just hide them all behind the thick padding of my motorcycle helmet so there's no USB cable or wires sticking out from the helmet or camera. Also I don't even have to access the battery or the entire charging module as it has a usb port for easy charging.
Great Idea, sounds very practical to me :) have a good one!
Really good idea!!
How much mAh battery capacity I will need for 1h of record?
Thank you!
I did not measure, depends on resolution and other settings i think. But what I can tell is that after an entire gameday of recording with a 6000 mah battery, i still had some power left :) Talking about 4k recording here :)
I've been look for a camera with a small footprint. Gopro style action cams, as nice as they are, just have a bit too much weight.
Yes, in this case, the thumb could be a good option for you :)
What’s that rear counter balance pouch you’re using
It is sold by now, i think it was one-piece with the black helmet cover :)
*FIVE VOLTS!!!*
Sure you're right - thanks for correction 😊
What do you use to protect the lens?
The will of destiny, keeping the BBs away from the lens. In other words: Nothing :D
@@rummbolt You're brave! I just ordered one and am hoping the ND filters provide some protection!
@@Iambeankind Haha, brave or stupid :P
Wish you good look, hope no bbs will never hit your new cam :)
@@rummbolt Do you think the ND filters would act as disposable protection? They get hit once, absorb the impact but are cracked. Thatd seem alright as they arent too expensive
@@Iambeankind I never used the ND filters for this purpose, so I can´t tell you - I´m sorry. But i guess it can be worth the try!
hi, this camera record audio? thanks
Hi, yes it does, it has a built-in microphone :)
@@rummbolt thanks! And the last one, how much autonomy do you get with that battery?
@@josekadett i did not measure yet, but recording one gameplay in 4k is no problem :)
256gb not 265
Sure you're right - thanks for correction 😊
