    No. I'm Mourinho in, here's why:
    He took over a dead squad from LVG, ageing and had no life in it at all. Yet he's won more trophies in the last 2 years than Spurs and Liverpool have in the last 13 years put together. He lead United to their highest post-Sir Alex Prem finish last season. He deserves more respect. The players have let him down and should be ashamed of themselves. The Spurs game was the reason why he doesn't play attacking football. He attacked most of the game, and our weak exposed defence showed. Had Woodward signed another CB, Mourinho would feel more confident to attack in other games. Woodward Out!

Criticising them publicly like he did in other clubs has demoralised the team. He should learn to take responsibility, look within rather than outwards where he continuously forwards the blame to others. Mourinho is a terrible motivator because he's selfish and self-centred. His constant changes to the back four unsettles the team. Bailly has easily been the best defender for the past 12months yet he had one bad game and was dropped in the last match against Spurs. Mourinho has no belief in his players and they now have no belief in him.

  • @barryispuzzled
    @barryispuzzled Před 5 lety +52

    I think Gary Neville has this right (love the depth of his insights). The way I see it, Mourinho has incredible difficulties to overcome: high-level expectation from the Fergie years, players like Pogba and Sanchez who are highly paid but don't deliver (I think Mourinho expected to build a team around Pogba ... with his talent I expected him to be a better version of Viera ... too ill disciplined, gives the ball away too much), as Gary says the center backs don't cut it (OK Mourinho bought Lindelof and Bailly but Fergie bought Djemba-Djemba and Kleberson ... sometimes it doesn't work out), Lukaku who is not a clinical finisher, no recognised consistent winger to put crosses in, a tabloid press who are trying to manufacture Mourinho's exit to attract readers, gifted young players like Rashford and Martial who need to raise their game, some of the fans are making waves but these are only fans when Utd win (which is why they became fans in the Fergie era), a board (run by Woodward) who have blundered badly in not sanctioning new center backs, and so on. Mourinho is one of the most successful managers of all time! Hands up who wants to do the IMPOSSIBLE JOB after Mourinho gets fed up with it all (it's a wonder that he copes as well as he does)!
    One final point. Mourinho (as Jamie Carragher points out) wants to fix the problems as soon as possible (which is also what the fans want) by buying in quality. The board are interested in maximizing income and minimizing outgoings. If they can get a top four finish while doing that then fine. The board do not think it is necessary to win titles to keep the club in profit. That evidently means that the board don't particularly care what the fans want. The board need to rethink the issue and back Mourinho in the January window.

    • @amclaren2023
      @amclaren2023 Před 5 lety +2

      Mourinho isn't a developer which is why he likes to buy established players. They have already allowed him to spend a ton of money and out of that group which have improved or showed promise besides Bailly, our best defender who had a poor game and then was benched. That doesn't inspire confidence in players. He needs to stick with the same group of players to develop some type of chemistry which is nonexistent.
      Which players have improved under his tenure? Scott McTominay? Jessie Lingard? Please!
      Yes Mourinho's CV is unquestionable and he deservedly loves to remind us of his past successes but he's also one that has burned many bridges at various clubs with his toxicity. I just don't see how a boring, stubborn, blame-deflecting manager like him gets this right. I suppose the solution would be to allow him to spend MORE money.

    • @Shadow-hu9ej
      @Shadow-hu9ej Před 5 lety

      A Mclaren I read through your whole statement and I agree with it wholesomely. We need a proper starting 11 instead of rotating each and every game, Bailly should definintly be starting at the back with no question. It's up front where we have an issue cause Rashford has been pretty mundane , Lukaku is missing open chances, Martial isn't performing and neither is Sanchez. The fact that we don't have a set right winger makes problems worse

  • @woutervaanhold7907
    @woutervaanhold7907 Před 5 lety +29

    Ferguson left when his last team came to an end (Ferdinand, Evra, Vidic, Carrick). Normally, Ferguson was already building his next team and the old one was phased out. But Moyes has to start form scratch. By switching managers United hasn't really started working on a new team for the next five years. Instead they bought experienced top players (Van Persie already, Ibrahimovic, Di Maria, Falcao, Matic, Sanchez) to keep the team in the top, but it failed. They are in the top 4 but aren't a real CL contender. They need to bring in young players who will become the core of the team and accept that it will take a couple of years before they are back at the absolute top of European football.

    • @Guero96

      Yip, Jose got the tactics spot on. They were very good in the first half and should have gone in 2-0 up. How can you account for a 70 million striker missing an open net? Would have been a totally different game. Credit to Poch though who reacted at half time and changed it up to expose Hererra. My guess it was no coincidence Eriksen pushed right up and stood beside him for the 2nd goal.
      Jose gambled with Hererra at center back so he could easily switch to a 4 without having to make a sub. Had Lukaku buried that chance, the gamble probably would have paid off.

    • @joeexotic5831

      U answered your own question there. Kane 1 chance, scores, lukaku 1 chance, blazes over, story of lukakus career, not a natural finisher. You can't blame exterior factors. In lukaku they have a striker who needs a few chances to score most of time. If you look at other world class forwards they have a bad game but get 1 chance and score, lukaku tends to play well most weeks but needs several chances to score, there's 1 of there major issues to start off with

Sacking does not help, all it does is destroy whatever work's been done by the previous manager. The manager needs to be backed by the board and he needs to be given time. Eventually, Mourinho is going to get it right, I'm sure of that. He took over a squad that was struggling very bad and he made us competitive again. 4 cup finals, winning 3 of them, and a second place finish isn't all too bad if you put things into perspective.

You lot had it good season on season with Ferguson, but you too have to come down off your high horse. 100 years from now they will talk about Ferguson, he's like Bolt, or Serena Williams. Generational, United should go for a young manager that has good experience, that is not nice, prickly and tough minded thats want to attack. If you look at LFC, Spurs and City, all want to attack. Arsenal and Chelsea are left to be seen. Mourinho sticks out because he's cautious and only care about results by any means. Its polarising

    4.20 mark. Can't criticise Lindelof as he is out of his depth @ this level? The man played @ a world cup.
    Smalling is a decent centre back who always has a bad mistake in him. Jones is too injury prone and like Smalling probably, his confidence is shot to pieces. Both players should move away from old trafford to rebuild their careers if nothing else. Dariman was supposed to leave for Italy in the summer but the move was cancelled @ the last minute due to Valencia's injury from the US tour. Like Kagawa, Blind and Schneiderlin before him he is not good enough to play in a team that challenges and wins league titles and that will get to the last 8 or 4 of the UCL. Likewise Rojo who seems to have completely disappeared.
    That's the problem with Utd. Over the last 8/9 years they have signed too many "OK to Good" players. They'll do fine in the group stage of the UCL and maybe even get you past the round of 16 if you get a favourable draw but they are not good enough to consistently get to the latter stages of the UCL or win the odd one. Likewisw the EPL. Too many of Utd's players would be classed in my view as 2nd and 3rd tier premier league players who'll do fine @ Leicster, Burnley, Newcastle, Everton et al but they are not good enough for consistent top 4 finish or to challenge or win league titles.
    Rafael, Fabio, Nani, Anderson, Manucho, Macheada, Zaha, Nick Powell, Kagawa, Blind, Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Darimian, Rojo, Samlling and Jones. These are just from the top of my head there's probably several more. I would not include Mkhitaryan as i honestly felt he was treated poorly by the "Special One" and Utd never saw the best of him. Di Maria was a massive missed opportunity and bad luck.
    Rant over. Back to Champ Manager

      I agree. I think the CB signings Jose made were necessary cause the Smalling Rojo and Jones are awful players. Bailly came at 24 years old. He's a fast and powerful CB and can be a bit rash but he will improve. He was a good signing cause we don't have a CB like that. The Lindelof one confused me cause we should have gotten a more experienced CB instead. That would have been a better option but we don't know if the more experienced and better quality ones were available so that's whatever. Every signing we have made has been necessary to improve the squad. The problem is that some of our so called star players are not performing and I'm sick of it. Pogba and Lukaku were a joke against Spurs and the defenders apart from Shaw were bad. If 4 or 5 players in your starting 11 are not performing (who are also part of the spine of the team) then it's difficult to win games.

United are getting quotes of 100m plus a player, players are using United to get contract renewals, Sanchez ripped them off for 500k week contract, they're getting beat to young talents for the future look at Barcelona building for the future in the last 2 seasons they have clear identity of how they play and got dembele for neymar coutinho for iniesta Arthur and Malcolm to compete with rakatic ....what United needs is manager who will stick around and slowly build this team for the future and I mean compete to sign the next generations of hazard, varene, umtiti, dembele, isco, grizzemann, dybala, coutinho all discovered or brought on the cheap...they need world class scouting team to get players and from the looks of it city has them beat to that too.

    Spurs are a very good and settled young team with clear roles and ideas defined from the backroom to the playing 11...man Utd are building up after Saf. U can't expect a cr7 or scholes type performance from a rebuilding team...it takes time...

    People might say am plastic, but Jones, smalling, Valencia, young, lingard and fellaini are not good enough to play for United they are average at best and should have been shipped out in mourinho second season.
    Jones and smalling can’t play 10 games in a row at a consistent level they are shite, Valencia is not a RB. Lingard and fellaini are shite.
    If true united fans really believe Manchester United is a top club do any of this players I mentioned be able to walking into a top clubs starting 11 they won’t even get into wolves starting 11

    Man united will challenge for the league this season dont let this bad start fool you they have to much talent not to compete the players need a little bit more time to gel but when they do they will take the premier league by storm just remember the callibar of players they have in place. He's had 3 summer windows and spent too much money to be given a pass. He should try and coach the players he has rather than spend for once. I hate to say it as an Arsenal fan, but Pochettino hasn't complained about the board after spending nothing, Jose needs to take a leaf out of his book.

    Mourinho needs to find 1 system and 1 starting line up, in his 3rd season he still hasn’t established his 1st team, and he does some things like play pogba in different positions, sanchez in the wrong position, not starting martial, however he has improved our football in the last 3 years were at least competing for things again but I wouldn’t mind zidane

  • @johnnywhite5835
    @johnnywhite5835 Před 5 lety

    We need world class wing backs and a world class defender we already have great wingers in martial and rashford and then you will see us winning again until then we’re always going to be under pressure it’s as simple as that.
