Very comprehensive comparison and extremely valuable when choosing a new skate. What would be very helpful is a comparison of new skates to those at the same level 3-5 years previous. The reasoning is most of us buy new skates in that range. We like to know what might be similar in feel to what we’ve just worn out. Thanks.
In Canada I bought the Source for Sports CCM super tacks vector premiere (upgraded 9380). It gets as3 pro liner and xs black blade with as3 7mm tongue. Changed the tongue to the xs 4mm tongue. Best fit out of the box skate I have ever had. All for $500 including the replacement tongue. CCM is killing it.

Don't forget the newest update to CCM, they bought out stepsteel blades. So that tech will be coming to the elite level. So promos are giving a free set if you meet requirements.
AS3s (mid tier) are amazing (once I ditched the stock steel for Flare steel).

i watched ur channel when i was 12 because i was looking for my first pair of skates. but never got to buy 1 . Now i am 19, and just 2 weeks ago i was looking for your channel to find the latest suggestion for buying first pair of beginners hockey skates. But it seems that ur channel was no longer active. I think.. u should remake your old videos of tutorials and guide for beginners. because the old videos were not HD and maybe u could remake it with better quality resolutions and slow mo. Plus, it represents more of your channel name tho ... 😁 u will get more viewers because there would be more people on the beginner to recreational than the pros/ intermediate.. your latest videos are only meant (more) for intermediates- pros.. and it would have less people in the bracket. just picture it as a pyramid.. pros are at the top and beginners are at the bottom.. if you success on making those contents. maybe you would make random people to go into hockey skates. and grab more audience. that's just my opinion thoo... I'm still using my Bauer Supreme NXG's. Just keep replacing the steel with new Ls2. I think I'm going to make the switch to CCM. Historically I've been all Bauer (except when I was like 8 I guess I was skating in a used pair of 1998 black and white ccm tacks)

Put my son in a pare of AS3 Pro and he would never skate in anything but now. One thing Chris didn't mention is that these things feel like a broke in pair of skate right out of the box. My son loves the comfort of these skates. Been in SuperTacks since age 10 and he will not even look at other options. On his 3rd pair at size 9 and he uses Step black blades for a great combination.
Can you sharpen the xs black blades using either of the home sharpeners? I have the Prosharp.

really like this style of video!! could you compare the ft 1, ft2, and ft3 pro sticks. i tried the ft 1 a couple years ago, but didn’t really like it over the 2n pro. i’m considering the ft3 pro and was curious how it compared in feel and durability
Some of my teammates have the FT3 pro, they all say it's a huge step back from the FT2. U should try out a Warrior DX or just stay Bauer! :D
i’ve used the ft2, ft3 and two bauer 2n in the past few years. I’m a defensemen and it comes to preference in my opinion, the ccm sticks feel more stiff and bigger in the hand but i know a lot of people who love that feature because they feel it helps add velocity and make their plays cleaner
personally i’ve stuck with the 2n pro because of the lighter feel and smaller feel in my hand. stuckhanding feels more effortless in my opinion but passing doesn’t seem as accurate.
it’s a weird feeling honestly but it comes down to preference. also i play bantam aaa so i’ve went through a few sticks and i will tell you these are amazing sticks and will work good. only other stick i’d recommend would be the flylite or new hyper lite coming out because i’ve used those twigs and they are just nuts for shooting (as a d i’d prefer the nexus though)
So with the ASV out now. I have a opportunity to get either the AS3 Pro for $630 or the AS3 for $450. Which one would you take. I’m coming from the 16 SuperTacks with the Mono Boot but now wearing the True TF9’s which I’m starting to loathe.

How you can consider AS3 an "upgraded AS1"? AS1 are stiffer (205 vs 190 SPI), have "TotalDri Pro" liner vs "TotalDri" (whatever it means), and of course AS1 have black runners, which are so better according to the video (but we all know that any CCM steel is garbage). The only "upgrade" is the holder, that allows to swap blades faster?
So if your just starting out in rec hockey working hard to get better at skating not too heavy go for cheaper skates ?
in canada the difference between each model is more like 300-400 $. also for as3 and as3 pro, ccm gives you stepsteel for free

I bought some cheap skates and getting horrible lace bite. Looks like better skates have a lace bite shield on the tongue.
Man even the 300$ to 400$ skates are good. Lots of quality and looks in them also.

Any skate in the £300 and above price range should come with full carbon or composite outsole as standard. This is what you used to get for that money. Manufacturers are now ripping customers off and only offering it in the top skates.

1:24 'stainless steel runners'? First off they are simply called 'blades'. Secondly, blades have been made from stainless steel for the past +/- 121 years, so you may not need to repeat it over and over.....
