- Kim Davis is the four-time married former Rowan County (Kentucky) clerk who defied the law in 2015 when she refused to sign marriage licenses for same-sex couples.
She now owes over $260,000 to the lawyers of one of the couples whose civil rights she blocked.

Even if I could swallow the lies and bad logic, I just don't have enough hate in my heart to be Christian.
The irony is that most of the hate that comes out of Right Wing Christianity is from the Old Testament. Jesus’ whole message was love and acceptance, an evolution from the messages in the Old Testament. Somehow a lot of Christianity has veered from this. It’s fascinating (and scary and repulsive and all sorts of other things).
Well said!
It’s just unfortunate that humans takes what is good and pure, like the word of God and twist it for their own benefit... I promise not all Christians are like that. My pastor is a lesbian, and I’m a pansexual far left women. If you read a lot about what Jesus taught, he was truly an amazing man. He believed in helping people out, and being there for the common man, he believed in seeing people as worthy of love. It’s all the sickos that try to twist what was actually written, and all the mistranslations that perpetuate this type of behavior. It honestly brings me to tears. As Jesus, it’s such a loving diety. He wants the best for us. I just don’t know how anybody could read the story of Jesus, and hate on people for things they can’t control like their race, sex, gender, sexuality, intelligence levels, ability levels, etc.
He was friends people of all walks of life, including prostitutes. He was the exact opposite of the hateful vitriol that Christians preach today. 😢
That is so well said. 😮
Christianity should never be about hate. Some very prejudiced people try to corrupt our beliefs. I understand why you’re reluctant to join us, but please be aware that every religion contains some fanatics. I hope that no one ever treats you the way Kim Davis treated these couples. She was wrong to hate and mistreat them.
It's the same situation with pharmacists who refuse to fill certain prescriptions because doing so would purportedly conflict with their religious views. Obviously such a position makes them unqualified for their jobs. Rather than supporting them, the pharmacies should fire them.
Yeah, it's really ridiculous that they think they have the right or the authority to basically veto what a MEDICAL DOCTOR has deemed necessary, all due to their "religious beliefs". One of the first examples that comes to mind is pharmacists who won't fill rx's to terminate pregnancies, when that is the treatment given to nearly half of pregnant women who have miscarried and they refuse to give them the medication that would help their bodies expel the deceased fetus that is beginning to decompose and break down inside their wombs. What a pharmacist would believe gives them the right to cause a woman to potentially die from a deadly infection caused by their "pro-life" beliefs makes absolutely no sense.

Kim DUHvis/DOOOfus really isn’t the brightest bulb in the pack or the sharpest blade in the drawer. She had ONE job and she screwed it up by bringing in her theocratic bullpucky, hypocritical morality into it (and given her history of affairs and divorce, she doesn't have ANY moral high ground, which is ironic! Jesus NEVER talked about homosexuality but said quite a few things about DIVORCE and ADULTERY). DUHvis makes the rounds as persecuted Xian like an Icon of Jesus makes the rounds at a Catholic pilgrimage. Gotta love this Persecution of others as a display of Martyrdom schtick these Evangelicals play. I’m glad the judge is pretty much not having any of this nonsense, when you break it (the law) you pay for it (in legal judgement and fees).
And all of this could have been avoided had she NOT used her position as a pulpit and just done her damned job or stepped down. But noooooo she wanted to be paid by the government to discriminate, which is against her employer (the government). She even defied her boss and was sent to jail for it! She took an oath to uphold the law! And the worst part is she can’t be fired. She was elected.. and even though she was convicted and imprisoned and ORDERED by Supreme Court to essentially do her job.. she could not be ousted from her job like us mere peasants. She even tried to hoist the bill onto the State, but the governor refused stating tax payers should not be made to pay for HER crime and what she did was a crime.
The saving grace in all of this was that she came out of the closet as a hater and became a Republican (surprise surprise). She finally was beaten in 2018 by a Democrat .
I also think she should be sued for the amount of resources and time of the government/county personnel had to expend to 1) constantly protect her ass 2) to ensure that the orders of the judge (whom she defied) were carried out. That’s tax-payer money and for her to just think hate pays and SHE’S the victim really shows she had NO respect for the authority her bible tells her to respect and value. @furncemanjim It's never about feelings. Up until 2022, same sex marriage was Federally illegal, or not legal. She refused to grant licenses in 2015. A Federal Judge cannot even here this case because there was no violation of law. It will get over ruled by a higher court. This just proves the case how in fact Judges are trying to legislate from the bench.
@furncemanjim 2022 Respect for Marriage Act
This act provides statutory authority for same-sex and interracial marriages.
Specifically, the act replaces provisions that define, for purposes of federal law, marriage as between a man and a woman and spouse as a person of the opposite sex with provisions that recognize any marriage between two individuals that is valid under state law. (The Supreme Court held that the current provisions were unconstitutional in United States v. Windsor in 2013.)
The act also replaces provisions that do not require states to recognize same-sex marriages from other states with provisions that prohibit the denial of full faith and credit or any right or claim relating to out-of-state marriages on the basis of sex, race, ethnicity, or national origin. (The Supreme Court held that state laws barring same-sex marriages were unconstitutional in Obergefell v. Hodges in 2015; the Court held that state laws barring interracial marriages were unconstitutional in Loving v. Virginia in 1967.) The act allows the Department of Justice to bring a civil action and establishes a private right of action for violations.
The act does not (1) affect religious liberties or conscience protections that are available under the Constitution or federal law, (2) require religious organizations to provide goods or services to formally recognize or celebrate a marriage, (3) affect any benefits or rights that do not arise from a marriage, or (4) recognize under federal law any marriage between more than two individuals.

2) there's no hate like Christian love.
as the legal eagle would say "don't piss off the judge"
So ignore the stuff I did when I wasn’t born again? Why doesn’t she give others the same latitude? How does she know that they won’t “repent”? Oh, because it’s about hate and nothing else, never mind.
She'll simply set up a "go-fund-me" and all the RW trolls will gladly pay for her.
Yes it's already up, however the money isn't flowing as much as you think it would, she's probably 0.001% to the target. Oh look you can send a prayer instead, nice I'll let her know she's only getting what God planned for her.
You have to remember this is old news for conservatives, it's not going to get coverage and she will be forgotten.
let them. fools and their money are soon parted.
That was working but lately they seem to be showing fatigue for those kind of things.
Man, I did not think it cost you several grand a day to be a conservative folk hero.
Rittenhouse got a lot of money from his grifts and somehow also ended up absolutely broke. So it must be _very_ expensive.
if you go woke, you go broke? naw, you go woke OR you go broke! 😆
it's a lot cheaper in the long run.
She's no hero to any decent human.
@@FirstnameLastnames no but that’s because I care about people
But why didn't God protect her from prosecution? He must not be on her side.😂
Love is love in God's eyes. One day, God will explain that to her before sending her downstairs.
@@kerryevans7283hopefully, those stairs will be a fast-paced escalator 😎
He's on her side for sure. The Lord God is patient and long suffering. When he pours his cup of rath on your arses you gonna see who's side he's on.😮

Someone should advise Davis's attorneys that fees will be even higher after another appeal.
Ten more appeals. And she have paid over one million dollars. So this would give Christian a hint. When the law applies to all. You be the one paying it.
Well that would just be making a cha-ching sound in the minds of her lawyers most likely, since higher court costs mean more being paid to them as well. You don't think her lawyers aren't being paid do you? Unless they are taking her case on pro-bono that is, in which case, their law firms are probably still compensating them for in some way, and I'm guessing they also are probably making money off of even if it really is being done by some of them pro-bono, just due to advertising to other right wing and religious zealots they might lawyer for, the kind of lawyer and person they supposedly are.
@@marlenaneedham3818 How much do you think a clerk makes???
Of course this right wing syndicate is fronting the costs. I wouldn't be surprised if her attorney's firm has to pay this fee.
They should get wise, but then, they wouldn't have taken the case to begin with.
Schadenfreude is a good second to her realising what she did wrong. I have a feeling that isnt happening any time soon.
Call me naive, when I first heard her name back in the news I immediately thought she had a "come to Jesus moment" if you'll pardon the phrase, but no, still a hateful bigot. She deserves to lose every last penny.
Sigmund freaude believed same sex attraction was a mental illness.
Ah the problem with listing to the voices inside your head, they'll always get you into trouble.
This is like an assassin deciding they don't kill people. Dude, its in the job description.
I am so glad I discovered your channel. You keep me informed on so many things no one else even brings up. I am not an atheist; I am Psykerah, which is a combination of Indigenous and Pagan, who was raised Baptist Christian, so you can imagine how messed up I have been for years.
This story is indeed juicy and I appreciate Hemant for the way he delivered the news!
The sad thing is it probably won't cost her a dime, she has raked in a ton of donations from the suckers.
but as someone else pointed out, that's money that won't be spent building up the alt right's campaigns. it'll go toward helping the couple she wronged.
@@chlyri That's true enough.
Oh Kim, you should have just done your f-ing job....LOL
I worked for Mat Staver’s law firm for about a year when I was in high school. He used to represent insurance carriers in work comp cases with a side gig doing religious liberty cases. That was before he’d moved on to making Liberty Counsel his entire thing. We had to go on a firm retreat in St Augustine in the summer where there was prayer and church services - the whole shebang. I was active in church at the time and considered myself a Christian but it was still weird and uncomfortable.
They had no right, and it was probably illegal, for you to be forced to participate in religious activities at work.
I am sure that there are many people around her encouraging her to continue this position, either because they are profiting off her or the adversity isn't affecting them. It's easy to tell someone that she has moral superiority when they have no personal risk to life and reputation.
OMG! I didn't know this case was still going on. Can the court not say the case is done no more appeals?
Wait till you realize the ability to appeal is dependent on how well funded your case is
We should sue the Jan 6th traitors
You spelled murder wrong. Common mistake.
They should be in prison for life.
😂 You mean the 2A gun nuts that didn't bring any guns? Capital police opened the doors and let him walk in.

It’s so awesome watching the judge throws so much shade her way, in a professional manner. It’s just so awesome.
Liberty Council is a legal Answers in Genesis. Wrong on every point, but rich on donations.
Why didn't she call the baby jesus for the defence?
Even the Grinch's heart grows from this news❤
I just made the epic mistake of reading some of the comments section regarding DeSantis and Halle in the presidential nomination… Thoroughly demoralized with the state of the American conservative population, I return to my home screen to find this. Thank you. I effing needed this 😂
Edit - Thank you to the CZcams algorithm gods, new subscriber
It funny because I doubt liberty council will cover much of what all they actually have cost her with all the appeals.
That's rich...so, the RWers lawyers are basically saying *"well, we'll give you these $100.000 - now go and pay your lawyers from that money. Don't pester us about it."*
Nope, RWers...that's not how the legal system works.
And that's also not how the legal system has ever worked in the past.
*You lose - you pay.*
And who do you pay to?
Your opponent, your own lawyers *AND your opponent's lawyers.*
That has always been the case.
And we won't change it, simply because you're Christians and feel like you shouldn't be punished for this.
I honestly had thought about her in years. That said, I do remember her turning out to be good for the Trump campaign. All the other Republican candidates at the time took her side because "oppressed Christian" or whatever, Trump was like "Nah, she broke the law".
I do love how much you enjoy relating these stories to us.
Has she responded with “it’s part of god’s plan” or “this is the work of satanic”?
I'm wondering why the judge didn't finalize the decision with prejudice so they couldn't keep the case going. Is that judge not able to do that?
It would be nice but unfortunately this terrible person has a right to fight at this time... if she continued to be this stubborn i think something could be enforced.
That would counter the entire point of the appeals process.
A person feeling so strongly about "not doing her job" should quit it before harming others.
Oh, Kim.
Let it go.
God cant help you now...
Doesn’t she have all her supporters to bail her out? 🤣🤣🤣
First! Keep up the great work Friendly Athiest!
Even got a theist commercial. 😄
I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm learning so much.

It is wonderful to see you smile !
NOW, lets see all her supporters coming to help her pay, special the Huckabee family 😂
Every single appeal is just costing them more money. The epitome of stupidity.
She keeps digging herself in a deeper hole.
Love your factual analysis!
