    Not from the UK but Portugal, and I suspect the same is true for most of Europe: soccer/football matches are our most common "high-risk operations". There's a special police branch just for matches (apparently the UK also has one, called the Football Policing Unit), we have spotters who know who the most aggressive individuals are and are always in control of the riot teams in case they are needed, and overall it's just a whole afternoon and evening of controlling a whole region to make sure no fights break out. It can get so big that often police officers from other countries come here or ours go abroad when big games happen between the bigger teams of those countries. There was actually an incident back in 2019 where England fans clashed with our police and it was brutal for the fans. Our guys and gals are usually just there for deescalation and arresting troublemakers, but they do know how to fight back when violence erupts.

    He got a £60 fine (not 6, although it did sound like 6) and 3 points on his licence for driving whilst on his phone (i think the fine has gone up since, it's a old program). Get a certain amount of points on your licence and you get disqualified from driving, vehicle taken and the punishment increased.

    Firstly, why are Americans obsessed with size? Just because the guy was tiny doesn't mean that he couldn't hurt a fly because I know plenty of martial artists who are tiny that could do a lot of damage to a big guy...
    Secondly, the guy speeding would have been breathalysed. Also there's no point in taking somebody to the police station over a speeding offence, the same with no tax or insurance because that just means taking the officer off the road for hours on end for administration work. Things probably work different in the USA because money is involved.

    Also the guy driving the nissan...After he confessed his speed he should have done a burn out as he pulled away after speaking to the police. He was going to get a ban anyway so may as well have some fun while he is at it. As to the officers and their whining about speed being dangerous and how the one officers dad was killed by a driver i am so bored of it.
    The conditions were on the face of it perfectly safe. Minimal road users, dry weather. Driver was clearly sober and in control of the car. Speed limits in the UK on motorways are truly stupid.

    • @nick7076
      @nick7076 Před 7 měsíci

      Speed is a massive e issue. Road can clear, fine but ANYTHING can happen. At 130 you don't have time to react, hit a bit of debris and lose a tyre at that speed, you are going home in a box. Depending on the car and the quality of tyre fitted, 130 is close to the usual maximum speed rating for standard tyres.

    • @hogwild5844
      @hogwild5844 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@nick7076 Its amazing that there isn't absolute carnage all over the German Autobahn 24hrs a day. Or that there wasnt carnage on the Northern Highway in Australia when the Aussies derestricted it.
      Or of course it could be that speeding is not dangerous if done "safely". I have done 750000 miles on motorways always a significant margin above the speed limit (in my earlier days on occasion go straight to jail speeds) and do you know how many accidents i had? How many people were injured or killed?
      None. No accidents. No injuries, No deaths because speed is not dangerous. Bad driving and speed under the wrong conditions is.
      Sometimes driving within the speed limit is deeply dangerous due to conditions for example if its raining heavily, if its a poor road surface etc.
