One could argue that he was tired of fighting and honestly Tony’s death probably gave him a lot of grief. And then there are people like Captain Marvel who just destroys gigantic ships without breaking a sweat... so maybe Cap just felt he wasn’t needed anymore. TED: *About Tony and Pepper* Yeah you know aside from one conveniently timed break, they've had a really solid relationship.
SPIDER-MAN: What do you mean by conveniently timed?
TED: Don't you find it a little odd that right before the Avengers broke up over the Sokovia Accords, Pepper left Tony? But not only six months later not only were they back together but Tony also asked her to marry him? Kind of like the entire break up was manufactured to put Tony in an emotionally compromised state for a VERY specific moment in time?
SPIDER-MAN: *Thinks for a second but then shakes his head* No.
TED: Wait what do you mean no?
SPIDER-MAN: Yeah when you ACTUALLY think about it you realize it all shakes up. After Mr. Stark gave his life trying to save New York by flying the nuke through the Worm hole when the Avengers first came together to stop the Chitari, it gave him anxitey filled panic attacks since for the first time he was put in a situation where he would of died and didn't have a counter against it of any kind. Thus becoming this emoitonal mess desperate to try and build anything to try solving any possible emergency which obviously put his relationship with Miss Potts in trouble when he kept ducking out to make new suits instead of spending any time with her and further emotionally shutting himself off and being so paranoid and desperate to prove himself. After the whole ordeal with the Mandarin though it seemed he had moved past that trauma by getting rid of the arc reactor in his chest and blowing up all of his Iron Man suits symobolically making it seem he had given up on that desire to constantly chase after and solve the next problem. However he still had that desire to go and try and solve problems and be a hero even with all the stress it was causing him thus why he went back to making Iron Man suits that obviously Miss Potts was not okay with thus why she didn't go hanging out with him the second time the Avengers got together to get the Mind stone in Loki's staff as Tony felt he coudl finally find a way to stop all war and to move on with his life in creating Ultron which just led to more problems that he felt that he had to clean up. WHich is what caused the break in the first place; him not being able to just stop working and being a hero and focus on his emotional life which is a big reason why he agreed to sign the Sokovia accords in order to show he was willing to let others take the blame and to be less hands on in these fights and start focusing on her which obviously was a gesture that did get them back together thus why they started rebuilding their relationship and after what happened with Thanos snapping away half of reality fully gave up for awhile to start that family and live with Pepper until wanting to save all the people lost so going through with this mission and her recognizing how important that was thus suiting up and helping out in this big epic battle. It all makes sense from their journeys and discovery and relationship and all clicks and honestly feels like you didn't get what they were saying even when they specifically made clear what their feelings are and are just trying to come up with flaws and mistakes when YOU are the one who is mistaken on what actually happened.
TED: Huh yeah guess you're right. Honestly a lot of my nitpicks thinking about it are ones that can easily be debunked by what happens in the narrative or additional source material if I was so inclined into really finding out what the root of these flaws are. And these problems are just an excuse for me to bitch about things that aren't really even worth bitching about.
SPIDER-MAN: Well glad you're able to own up to that.
TED: Well at least this version of me anyway. Maybe one day real me will do that as well.

So about the Cap ending I personally never thought that Steve ever really adapted to this era. I mean that's essentially the plot of the winter soldier and to a lesser extent civil war despite his efforts he struggles to fit in and could never truly let go of the past even to the point of lying that's the whole point of his relationship with Bucky. The ending of Endgame felt to me like a reward for Cap's fight. I always got the feeling that he would die honorably on the battlefield because that's what soldiers do. And for him to not only survive but to essentially be finally at peace and finally get the life that deep down he always wanted is... It feels... Good. I feel good for him.
And that was my way too serious take on what was probably ironic comedy

    • @someromaboo
      @someromaboo Před 3 lety +6

@C G You can think that if you want all the power to you. But personally I find Cap's ending to be beautiful. It a clear contrast to his first Avenger self and I think that's the point. What characterised Cap in the first movie is his drive to always fight against evil emphasis on evil here. Now that makes for an endearing character but gets boring pretty quickly when his opponents are just unquestionably evil. What the Russo did were make him come face to face with a morally gray world. And the result was he sticked to his guns an understanding of the morally gray world and subsequently changed his black and white view of the world but could never let go of the past (Bucky and Peggy). The very fact that he decides to stick to his own morale code one that he gained from the 40s is symptomatic of how he could never really accept or adapt to the modern world. But he is Captain America he will always fight the good fight against the bad guys and that's honestly the last comfort in his life the last thing that reminds him of a simpler time where he could punch unquestionably evil Nazis. And for someone like him there is probably nothing better than to die honorably on the battlefield something that was already present in first Avenger. But that was always at the cost of his happiness. To me there is nothing that characterise Steve than his therapy session and later speech to Black Widow he helps people move on but he himself cannot. He help others find happiness but he himself cannot find it. And then comes Endgame the climatic battle against Thanos the Universe ending threat. In Cap's and the viewers' mind this is it this his last stand his last fight where he will die honorably fighting the good fight. Yet he survives. After all the fighting after this climatic battle that he thought was his last he is alive. And here he is confronted with a choice to continue fighting or to find happiness. And honestly haven't he seen Peggy during the time travel he probably would have never made the decision he made. Because when he saw her he finally realised that this is his happiness and he chose to take it. It's a message that I just do not see in super hero movies to say to the soldier you have fought enough you can go back home. And that's what Steve decided to do after he fought and now that everything is alright he decided to just go back home and be happy. Is ot selfish? Yes. But can you really blame him after all that fighting to just decide to be happy?

abou bakr diom I don’t think cap would be happy though he would have to keep many secrets from Peggy like the fact that hydra is infiltrating shield right under her nose and he would have to live knowing that Bucky was out there somewhere being brainwashed and used as a killing machine. Also I’ve said this before in another comment I made but something that keeps coming up and is a major deal breaker for me is cap kissing agent 13 peggys literal niece. Also Bucky and cap have been through so much together he told Bucky that he would be with him till the end of the line. Word of God:
According to this interview with Joe Russo:
-2014 timeline Thanos and Ebony Maw were able to figure out how to synthesize Pym Particles and subsequently mass-produce them in order to make the jump into the prime timeline.
-When Captain America traveled back to the alternate 2014 to return the Soul Stone to Vormir, he met again with Red Skull, but they weren't hostile to each other, as it was Rogers' mission to deliver to stone back while Red Skull's mission was to guard it, adding that Red Skull is no longer the same as he was in Captain America: The First Avenger, with his only purpose now being to guard the Soul Stone.
-By traveling back to the 1940s, Captain America created a new branched reality where there were two Captain Americas: the one we met in The First Avenger and another one who was encased in ice. However, the Russos refuse to state what happened in that new timeline, saying that it's a story for another time.
-According to Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, the Snap also affected other dimensions like the Quantum Realm, stating that Ant-Man's survival wasn't because he was trapped there, he was simply lucky.
-The Russos stated that Steve was always worthy of Mjölnir, and just didn't pick it up until now because it would have made Thor feel less special. Kevin Feige later confirmed this in an AMA on Reddit as well and Joss Whedon revealed that this was his intention with the party scene back in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
-In response to the popular fan theory about Ant-Man entering into Thanos' anus and then expanding himself to make Thanos explode, Christopher Markus revealed that due the strong nature of the Titan species, Ant-Man would have been unable to expand himself and get simply crushed to death against the walls of Thanos' mighty rectum.
-Joe Russo stated that upon using the Tesseract to escape custody, the 2012 Loki created a branched new reality in an alternate timeline, and that they don't know if Captain America was able to find Loki upon traveling back to that timeline to deliver back to the Time, the Mind and the Space Stones.
-After Spider-Man: Far From Home showed that the un-snapped people were brought back right where they were before, some fans got worried about the implications for the likes of people who were in airplanes at the time. It was then stated that Bruce made sure that everyone who was brought back was in a safe position.
-According to a Twitter post by the Russo Brothers, Noobmaster69 is Wong. Prior to this, a favorite fan theory was that he was Deadpool.
-According to Kevin Feige, Thanos's use of the gauntlet to wipe out half of all life in the universe is called the Snap - which aligns which what MCU fans have been calling it, the use of the gauntlet by Banner to reverse it is identified as the Blip.
-According to Jim Starlin, Thanos' double-bladed sword and the twirling motion used to block Iron Man's blasts were shout-outs to the rotors on the Thanoscopter.
-While the writers disagree with the directors on the exact nature of the resolution of Captain America's story, they've stated that Captain America traveled to 1948 when he met Peggy again, making it set after the events of Agent Carter.
-The Russos stated in an interview that Richard Rider and the Nova Corps were canonically present for the Battle against Thanos' forces at the end, even though they were never seen on screen.
-It was stated that after Captain Marvel's stinger, the Avengers filled Carol in on what had been going on, and from then, she used a tracker given to her (likely by Rocket), in order to find Tony and Nebula in space.

    About the Cap thing:
Yes he was a man out of time who had started a new life in the present, but there was still a piece of himself left behind in the 40's. A thread that was never resolved. That thread was Peggy. I'm sure that if he and Tony hadn't gone back to the military installation in Garden State, leading him to see Peggy again, he would have continued through life, still being inspiring, but never really finding happiness. But seeing Peggy behind that window, alive, in front of him, he realized that it's not POSSIBLE for him to move on. Cap has sacrificed his OWN happiness, his OWN future for everyone else's countless times. But why can't Steve be happy? Cap's journey is more about him finally ending the fight, passing on his shield and finding happiness. It's a message that doesn't really get explored as often for certain superheros.

You don't get one shot at "love" and then it's done. You create your own happiness, when and where you can get it. That's not even counting the fact that he is is not the Steve she would want. And humans can't hold a single Infinity Stone. Thanos could take it because he is so powerful; Tony Stark was lucky to snap at all.

Hope you don't angry with my opinion and I would also like to know yours...
Have you seen Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers? A battle is supposed to be above turf taken or lost. Or at least in this case, heroes killing the bad guys or the bad guys killing the heroes... And in this battle, it was so confusing and cliché to just see individual heroes come up and do one move and disappear. I get that there's so many characters, but it was basically fan service.
Fan service, in the sense, the writers wanted to show the audience, "hey look, here's black panther. Okay he's gone. Now he's Spider-man. Oh, let's have pepper Potts and Tony do some action, Okay okay, let's make this villain about kill Tony (but we know it's not going to happen, because why would a child of thanos kill one of the main characters in a movie?) And let Spider-Man save him. And let that threat be "accidentally" stomped on by antman." I hope you see the pattern, they just wanted to have fun by making characters do what they could.
And just my opinion, I don't like how during the scenes, the characters just stop and no harm comes their way, so they crack a joke... Even though infinity war was good, some scenes like Captain America and groot talking, or Bucky and rocket, was so out of touch. In the battle scene of The Two Towers, the Joke are consistent, meaning they fit in line with each character and don't ruin the momentum of the story of scene. And also during the first avengers movie, Captain America makes a joke, "it seems to run on some sort of electricity", keeping in touch with character, who was out of time, and also building relationship with Tony.
And I get it, it's not easy making a full on battle (although the wakanda battle in infinity war wasn't that stakeful and meaningful, it was still fun because it was organized, and not like the things I mentioned above. There are so many plot holes, and I'm not trying to nitpick because this movie was still fun to, but characters were just doing anything they could and the plot would guide them. And that's what I mean by the wakanda battle being organized.
Each hero in the wakanda battle had some purpose, and they even made amazing reasons for OP characters to stay back (Wanda, Thor) and also having consequences be attached with them. Wanda had to protect Vision, so she wasn't used for the battle, but when the heroes were being overwhelmed, she came to the ground and helped them, which even led to a line by saying, "where was she till now". And because wanda left vision, he was attacked, stopping the surgery, and leading to another method to stop thanos.
In infinity war, Wanda came, almost destroyed thanos, he stops her. Then what happens? Why doesn't she come back and do it again? And the feminist scene where the female heroes line up, I think everyone can agree it was cringe. They stopped an entire action scene to show this and resume. Captain marvel being the most OP character was being easily beaten by Thanos and couldn't get back up in time to beat him again. Doctor strange who was cool in his movie, had to stop some water flowing 🤦. And even when iron man got the stones, couldn't Captain marvel come to him, take it, and snap?
So anyways, I'm not trying to hate on the movie, but I really think it could have been done better.

It's not like, I don't know, his arm busted by using the gauntlet is a permanent wound that completly disqualifies him as a heavy weighter frontliner of the Avengers coming forward. That would be ridiculous, don't you think?"
