Rhodey: "What if we go back in time, find Baby Thanos, and, y'know....."
Steve: *takes notes*
WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!
@Timothy Harned , time travel is only confusing if it’s from Toyotaro’s DBS manga series, or if it’s entertainment made in the West that doesn’t use multiverse theory form of time travel.
I mean some form of avengers did exactly that.
It's one of those 14 million times.
If I could literally go back in time, I would raise baby Hitler in an awesome jewish fam (my fam). It's wrong to kill him because a big part of who he becomes is where he grew up. You take away the nurture, you can save lives and not have to kill him
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr not really. you can do time travel not confusing without using multiverse theory. Just have time travelers be outside of time and not affected by time. This way they can edit the time line anyway they want without affecting themselves thus erasing all paradoxes. For added bonus just say that time "fixes" itself by saying the "futures" you "deleted" never happened and never existed anymore. They are deleted. Also paradoxes is such a misused term because all it means is a problem we don't know the answer to. so we can make up whatever we wont as solution and thus getting rid of "paradox" problems.
example: the if i killed my grandfather will i cease to exist and thus did not kill my grandfather so in essence i can never kill my grandfather.
with my theory you can. You kill him and then your whole life is erased but since you are outside of time you still exist but the timeline has no mention of you whatsoever you in essence are nonexistent anymore in the timeline. and the timeline fixes itself to have never have had you. So all your interactions are replaced with the ones where you did not do those things. In essence this is similar to multiverse but with only one timeline and an infinite. Our choices do NOT make new worlds they just change the one here. So if we can control those choices we don't create new worlds we just "Edit" the existing one. And since we are out of time we are not affected by these changes.
I accept this as canon just because it doesn’t contradict anything and it’s hilarious and makes sense.
You are not only able to allow this as canon but with how (SPOILERS FOR THE END OF LOKI SEASON 1, even though there are some hints of the ultimate ending in this skit the ultimate twist, and set up for later projects was still left untouched.)
;
;
;
sporadic Nexus Events can prove to be basically any course of events one can imagine is now canon, and that goes for all of the fanfictions that have been written.
TL;dr: Disney-Marvel has opened Pandora's Box and there's nothing they can do about it, even if they wanted to.
Heck, it even makes even more sense in The Warp Zone canon as well. Remember their video on when Peggy was asking Steve about the future?
@@JustSomebody5 the multiverse already existed before the mcu though
Alaka
@@jacktheflash8478 I thought it already existed but only the ones were no nexus events happen (like old man loki) and the tva was just preventing from an infinite amount of universes being unleashed.
This aged so good after Loki Season 2 lol
Yeah this is like one quick mention away from being Canon at this point.
it really, truly did
It was revealing as well, at first I was right how could work with the sacred timeline and then boom, right now it can!
Someone needs to edit that scene where Loki is running around trying new plans and walks into this court room, sighs, and walks back out.
FR i was like woah he got everything right
I 100% believe that Steve, no matter what he has seen, will call a film a "moving picture"
"Movie" is just an abbreviation of moving picture, so he'd probably just see that as informal and use the full term out of principle. Seems fitting for his character.
Well, you still call it a “film” even though we don’t actually use it anymore. 😅
Captain America- “This has got to be the most pointless trial ever!”
Pope Stephen VI, who literally put the body of a dead Pope on trial- “Hold my beer”

It would be hilarious if Steve’s argument caused the TVA to give up and thus allow the multiverse to exist, thus allowing sorcerers to exist and give Roger’s evidence to make the argument, thus causing a stable time loop.
Actually, I can answer Steve's question. The manner in which the time line is designed isn't bound by any morality. It's bound by what happens next, what version of time ultimately gives rise to how it ends. Good and Bad things happen, the TVA isn't pruning "bad" things or keeping "good" things. They are pruning things that result in a sequence of events that's result in certain specific outcomes. Preventing Hitler's rise to power or subsequently bringing people back isn't part of the time line that didn't have the outcome they are trying to avoid, thus allowing those events to occur results in a high possibility of said outcome occuring. in other words the TVA knows what version of the timeline DOESN'T result in a multiversal war, and thus keeping the time line as close to that version is what they are trying to do. they may not know what DOES screw the pooch, they only know what DOESN'T. However his criticism of the TVA is correct, they are operating on incomplete information, they are told to prune timelines but are not told why, only that it falls outside of a defined parameter, which in that context, seems arbitrary. This I would say is one of the major faults of the TVA. And as Kang said to the Loki's, Go back and tell the workforce who they are and _why_ they do what they do.
Take my like and go away.
But even then, since the multiverse is infinite, there is a timeline they could have chose where Hitler fails and the multiversal war still doesn't occur
Sounds more like they're a bunch of psychopaths and I should be granted my own Omnitrix.
Hey one question
What is the nexus event for lady Loki?
I don't remember heard why the TVA erase their time line.
A girl told in a video (her channel is sort of feminist channel) that her nexus event was being a woman.
But another channel says that her nexus event was that she would be a valkire in the future. The channel say that in the scene that she is a girl you can see her playing with a ship that is a valkire so yeah her nexus evet was not being a bad person instead she would be a good person, a Warrior for asgard. So the TVA decided to erase their time line.
Simple reason why hitler shouldn't be killed as child in MCU, because hitler is real person who existed in real world. Whereas MCU is fiction and they can't make big changes to big real world events. They can bend and use real world mythos in MCU like in Thor and eternal movies, but they can't make big changes in that situation, like killing Hitler as baby. It contradicts with real world and it is not morally good idea and it will cause big controversy to MCU and Disney.

"What about the timeline where Thanos jumps to a future where he's already been killed, and then GETS KILLED before he ever had a chance to gather the stones and wipe out half of the universe and... get killed? Doesn't that drop the Sacred Timeline into a causality loop? Unless of course, there's already a multiverse in play?"
Dr. Strange: "If I warn Tony about what I want to happen, then it might not happen."
Me: "So choice - free will - and causality exist?"
Dr. Strange: "Um... yes?"
Me: "Then the Butterfly Effect - Chaos Theory - must _also_ exist.
Dr. Strange: "Wait..."
Me: "Meaning there would be INFINITE possible timelines/dimensions/realities/etc. in play at any given time: one for each infinitesimally small variation in human behavior, weather patterns, the movements of animals, etc..
Dr. Strange: "I don't -"
Me: "So there's no way in hell you could possibly bring about one desired timeline out of the 14,000,000+ timelines you watched - let alone the ONLY one that succeeds, because any little thing could drastically alter the flow of existence and prevent your desired result from ever happening."
Dr. Strange: "Please stop."
Me: "Like, if a rat gets eaten by a falcon or caught in a trap and _doesn't_ errantly step on a button, then Tony never gets the chance to have to make the choice you want him to make."
Dr. Strange: "But-"
Me: "Not to mention, you have the Time Stone. Just time loop Thanos like you did to Dormammu. If you were willing to face an eternity to save the world from Dormammu, why aren't you willing to do the same thing to save THE UNIVERSE from Thanos?"
Problem with that last part is that Dormammu could perceive that he was trapped in a time loop and negotiate to end it while Thanos would never realize that and just keep killing Strange forever.
Yes and no.
I think the Infinity Gauntlet allowed Thanos to break the rules without technically violating the Sacred Timeline.
What makes the ST sacred isn't that it's what the Timekeepers (or whoever) decreed it, it's that its the only one.
Nexus occur because a single variant interacts with otherwise non-variant causality.
But The Gauntlet changes everything all at once, so there's no conflict between variant and non.
No conflict, no nexus event. With no nexus event, the Timeline remains Sacred, despite being altered so comprehensively.
In other words, without realizing it, Thanos rules-lawyered the TVA into permitting time-travel powered xenocide.
In doing so, he bound the Timekeepers with their own system, forcing them to work within that system to correct the problem.
Hence establishing that the Avenger's re-assembling the Gauntlet was canon to the ST.
I don't think Thanks got killed. I think Tony just returned him and his army to where they are supposed to be, otherwise thered be a hell of a paradox there haha.

Strange in classic days can summon and draw power abstract entities like Eternity, Order, and Chaos to help him out and Eternity is a multiverse being just below the living Tribunal.
the multiverse has always existed within the Sacred Timeline. The Sacred Timeline may seem like a singular line, but when zoomed in we all saw those many lines of strands, meaning yes, multiple universes / alternate realities DO exist within the Sacred Timeline. the Sacred Timeline exists as a way to prevent other Kang variants from rising to power, so branching realities from the Sacred Timeline are things that "aren't predicted / according to HWR's plans, and could lead to Kang variants taking over", which is why they get pruned. that's how i think it works. which means yes, Dr Strange does pull power from the multiverse within the Sacred Timeline.

@@thebronzedragon1 yeah I sort of imagine them as the same way heaven and hell (hifl) work in dragon ball, where they are outright part of the structure of each individual universe.
There's or universes, realities and dimmensions(according to theories, made even more confusing based on language and use of each word) Here is my attempt to make it simple. Like time travel in movies, it's never simple.
A forest- the soil is the start of each TYPE of alpa universe (the one where their laws of physics and understanding are different. Think of it as different breeds of trees but we will focus on our tree from here) The roots are the base with its "how it works" mechanics established by the type of universe, allowing dimensions, forming the trunk and our concept of spacetime. It's been over 2 years since my quest to assure that one day Warp Zone makes a recap rap for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Yes pls
They could also do one for Agent Carter
Spider-man variants must be the most annoying variants for the TVA to deal with. Considering they are connected to the Web of Life and Destiny. Aka the very thing that holds the multiverse together.
Uhh, what did you say, the what of what and what?
Oh come on on, it's like saying spiderman is the reason marvel multiverse works........

Oh 🤯
@@thetaskmaster717 It's a multiversal structure introduced in the comic book spiderverse that connects and allows sipder avatars(those chosen to gain certain spider powers by the great weaver) to travel throughout the multiverse freely amongst other things.
We don't know if that's how it works in the MCU yet. Guess we'll see in No Way Home
@@ceciladams4882 The Mcu is Earth 199999.
It's the same multiverse
What she should have said instead of “the time keepers work in mysterious ways” (which is what a blind follower does) is put some thought into why they do what they do and say something like…
“the multiverse war inflicts death and suffering on an unimaginable scale. You fought to bring back half of one universe, we fight to prevent the death of billions of universes each with a universal death toll. unquantifiable amounts of living beings sufferings. The time keepers have already calculated what would lead to these eventually branchings and have us nip in the bud these possible outcomes as efficiently as possible. By wanting to save 3 people on the railroad track you want to tie thousands of others and load the train with TNT just for the fun of it.”
Still doesn't counter the "The Multiverse already exists thing." I mean The Dark Dimension is a thing so.
If we go by Endgame time travel logic, then they're literally fighting a Thanos from another universe because past Thanos leaves his original timeline to get killed in the present. That makes another separate universe where Thanos and his army just mysteriously disappears.
I always took the TVA's prupose as they just avoiding branching on that specific universe, not really that they prevented the multiverse from happening. Considering that the MCU is part of the multiverse already, that would make more sense.
I think Immortus braided the entire multiverse into one giant rope with an infinite number of strands, with each strand representing one universe. The rope, the Sacred Timeline, represents Immortus eventually being born and taking over the Multiverse thus preventing another Kang the Conqueror and trying start another Multiversal war.
Any event that would to Immortus not being born like killing Hitler causes a branching timeline thus TVA must stop anybody from killing Hitler.
Or the multiverse that does exist is just formed from nexus events that happened in the beginning of existence and have therefore drifted away from the sacred timeline enough to not cause a multiversal war
DC has a multiverse branch, Marvel has one, as well. It's funny when they say that whatever universe we are watching is the "last one left" even though the audience exists and is obviously not part of it.
5:20
doctor strange's "multiverse" is more like dimensions than an actual multiverse
That was brilliant. Especially considering that the existing Avengers: Endgame finish, him going back to Peggy, was borderline character assassination without something like this happening.
I wouldn't call it character assassination, it was more like retirement, or him (dis)honorably discharging himself.
Alternatively; He saw that he didn't need to be there and him being there would cause problems, because technically still a fugitive.

That wasn't just character assassination that was graphic torture AND assassination.
@@Artemisarrowzz we never see who she ended up with, so for all we know that's a closed loop. And once again, messing up those events could destroy the future. Think about how many people could be unmade if Steve 'fixes' all the world's problems, he could make a future where Thanos lives and humanity doesn't. If he stops world war 2, the nuke isn't made and Iron man won't have a missile to throw through that portal in 2012 and wipe out a lot of Thanos's fleet.
Letting those people get hurt and die saves an unknowable trillions more, as a soldier Steve would understand .
What's funny is that there is an actual government agency called the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) which produces electricity for most of the south east, because private industry refused to invest in giving electricity to Appalachia and the rural south, under FDR, because it was not profitable. The real TVA has their own police force that guards all their damns, nuclear plants, and other power facilities, as well as protect the watershed, and they had about a 125 cops back in the 90s, but the number has probably grown. I keep meaning to photoshop Loki into the back of one of their squad cars.

Yeah, I gotta be "that guy". Most magic users, with the caveat of those that exist in all realities simultaneously, pull their power from different dimensions that are all part of the same universe. Thus, it is entirely within reason that there could be a singular timeline or that the multiverse does exist but only a very small deviation is allowed.
Ancient One specifically said multiverse over universe in the Dr Strange film.

From what I think Marvel has tried to explain, the "Multiverse" that Dr.Strange gets the magic from are actually considered realms, pockets of reality that kinda just are there, don't really affect anything just kinda there in their own little bubbles Dormammu lives in a realm where time does not exist... meaning there is no timeline, also the Quantum Realm where time acts differently.
This show broke the cannon just accept it my man.
@@tavernburner3066 Its hard to break the canon when they already had it planned out. Dormammu lives outside of time, meaning he does not exist in the timeline, Strange used the Time Stone in the eye to create a pocket of time in a realm without time, plus the other ability the Mirror Dimension, is more of a construct then a universe, seeing its able to fold in on itself. Then there is the Quantum realm, a realm where time acts differently which is how they explain why they could time travel though it. One of Dormammu's abilities is Dimensional teleportation, not Universal teleportation. Dimensional are a completely different wonky thing separate from the Universal Timeline. Heaven and Hell are considered Dimensions in some variations of the lore, even in games dimensions are considered realms outside the normal plain of existence. The only Multiversal thing Doctor Strange has done, is see multiple futures, which could just be written off as just a nexus event situation, because him saying there was only one universe in which they won, was likely a reference to the timeline which He who remains was creating, it was pre-decided it would happen. Well there is also the Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, which is likely taking place during the Loki series seeing the timelines unraveling.
@@tavernburner3066 You bit off a bit more than you could chew going up against a marvel nerd
@@grins9882 Yeah lol
Yes indeed, that's exactly what I thought while watching this video. The multiverse evoked in Dr. Strange has nothing to do with the one evoked in Loki. In Dr. Strange it's more of a mystical multiverse with different mystical dimensions that could be compared to heaven and hell, and not parallel realities of the same universe duplicated ad infinitum with some variations as it is in Loki.

Yep... these are indeed the questions that are asked when you have an ever expanding narrative universe and get cocky bringing time travel into it.
yep, could not have said it any better. Until End Game, Voyager was the worst desperate, negligent, and inconsistent use of time travel.

Also whole World War 2 argument its funny from Steve anyway, because without World War 2 he would never be hero in the first place.
