What are your hopes for the next gen Joy-Cons on Switch 2? What changes or features would you like to see? 👀
Hopefully they don't have the drifting issues that plagued the actual ones.
I what nintendo fix drift
I what nintendo have the option to have the d pad
I would like if the swapped the A button and the B button going from switch to Xbox or vice versa really messes with me haha 😂
Full motion tracking for the controllers. That way, they can bring back pointer controls, and even have some vr like controls for games.
You forgot the most advanced stick drift mechanism
I play my switch maybe a hour a week. Mostly because I have a life but I have never experienced " stick drift." Is it from playing the Switch alot or does it just randomly happen?
The Joy cons are interesting as I feel like I've heard a lot of different things regarding them
I definitely think they're pretty good aside from he obvious drift lol
@@ActualAero 8:41 How often are you planning on doing this "hope series" for and also can you please put this series of videos in a playlist so that way they're easier to access??
Stick drift has been figured out, It is the thin metal base strip, it deforms after awhile or when pressure too hard after people rage. 1 mm thicker base strips fixes it and other solutions are available on youtube for independant repairs
I just wish the controllers were larger, with bigger buttons and comfortable grips like the pro controllers, whether they were detachable or not.
Joycons for the Switch sucessor can't be much bigger as kids will be playing. The Switch is already pretty big as a handheld!
Nintendo will want people to take the Switch sucessor outside. A 8 inch screen plus big Joycons wouldn't be that portable.
3rd party's will release bigger Joycons just like on the current Switch.
And better gyros and a perfect mouse pointer they failed as a wii remote chuck replacement and that simply isn’t good enough hands apart gosh with mm precise mouse pointer is GOD TEAR FPS wii remote and chuck hands apart 3d motion in each hand mouse pointer SWE NEED THAT HIT BETTER WAY SSY BETTER it’s that. Wry thing the joycons failed at
We need more grips...
Both of my switches are switch lites, and I have cases for both of them, so I'm not having most of the problems you're talking about. I am thinking about getting a regular switch when the 2 is released. It would be good if the problems are fixed.
It's time for Nintendo to bring back haptic feedback/analog triggers!
Or just DITCH the fucking cons and bring back the GameCube controller but with Amiibo function of course
I hope the new controllers are infinitely better, with no drift, great buttons, d Pad, better haptic feedback, better shoulder buttons that don't stick, better rails or whatever to hold the joycons, and a proper ethernet port.
And ergonomics because flat controls are painful for long playtroughs, better button quality, joysticks and d pad, analog triggers. My hands tend to cramp with that ugly design, I want a joy con that is comfortable for the grip and feels solid.
I think someone can figure out clickable circle pads... the circle part could be a button itself or the whole thing could click in some way. just because the stock circal pads don't do it yet doesn't mean they can't do it. I'd love that for the joycons... they'd look so sleak... even if it's just an option.
The Retroid Pocket Flip has clickable circle pads.
I would love to have the circle pads back. For me, they’re much more comfortable than the sticks. If there was a way to make them click like a mouse click trigger it would be perfect

Not disagreeing with anything mentioned above but tbh the OG joycons are just a fallback controller scheme im using. On shorter trips I can get by using only them but whenever it's a multi day trip I will pack my Hori Split Pad Pro and use those instead. Whenever I'm home it's either Hori or the Pro Controller.
I wouldn't actually mind seeing Nintendo introducing a new product range of sturdier adult sized joycons along with the default ones. Of course for portability's sake the OG joycons should be the default going forward, but a controller like the Pro Controller for handheld gaming would be the product category I'm missing. Currently Hori does a good job on that but Nintendo could monetize it as well.
As for the mention of railing or joycons loosening over time id say it's both. My own OG joycons rattle a bit too much only after 2 years (even though I rarely use them) while my Hori Pads rattle ever so slightly less. My daughter's fresh Xmas Switch joycons rattle less than my own joycons, roughly equally to how much the Hori ones do, but that wasn't always the case. The daughter's fresh OG joycons on a brand new Switch don't rattle at all. They're tight like a virgin...olive oil.
Now I did hear some rumors of detachable joycons going away on Switch2 but don't think they'll do that. Money wise it's a gold mine for Nintendo and for consumers it's also a good thing not having to replace the whole device when the controllers go faulty.
Detachable joycons will definitely be the thing. As for the controller rattle I don't know if consumer level maintenance could be a thing, where you cpuld tighten the railings yourself or whether Nintendo would allow for consumers to send their device for repairs on the railing thing just like they do for joycons now. All the moving parts will eventually get loose on all things, be it a human body or a device. That doesn't mean the whole thing is broken at that point. They should allow a way to fix those loose parts easily.
For the triggers to have a potentiometer-like sliding scale like the competitor controllers it shouldn't be a problem as the joycon sticks already have multiple stages of action. I'm not often using them myself but even in the RPG games that I play a slight nudge on the stick will make the character sneak or walk while holding the extreme position they'll run. Having a tactile feedback introduced and possibly even customizable on device level would be golden. Nintendo could monetize that as well by having a default level of joycons/controllers act like they do now, then the Pro level (both the joycon and external controller) devices having more/all features and possibly even an ultra level controllers having everything and their mother on the side. People would buy these according to their needs as long as the games would allow you to use any of these devices, not that you'd be required to use Ultra level controllers in order to play the game X; just the control scheme would change according to what level of controllers youre using. Maybe for entry level controllers you'd have a sneak/walk/run toggle button where for ultra level the controller feedback would provide that functionality.
As for the stick drift, today's tech has moved on I'm pretty sure, but for my Hori pads I bought a can of electric spray that'd clean the contact surfaces and evaporate away was a cheap investment and one treatment (for me at least) goes for one year. The can will go out of date before I've used it all.
for the love of all that is sacred nintendo please just fix the drift thats all i care about
Future Awaits
i feel like they will announce it on pokemon day
The switch 2 is called the oled
I think these should be called pro cons or joy pros
ok nobody wants a new switch more than me (i dont want to drop $700 on something better... but i might) BUT if they dont announce it by may the next point is september. 6 month minimum till new hardware after announcement if not 1 year. no may announcement means no november or december release
The stick drift is not limited to the joy cons. It also affects the pro controllers.
It really doesn’t, you have to absolutely abuse them to get stick drift from them. They’re least prone to stick drift of pretty much any controller ever made.
@@minecrafter3448 That's a complete lie.
@@perjunior00 you’re the liar here
@@minecrafter3448 Listen kid. Every joystick that isn't a hall-effect stick (which uses magnets to determine it's position) will eventually suffer from drift. It's a matter of time and how much you use them. Even if you don't use them they will eventually drift if not protected from dust. Best advice is to put them in a drawer after each use.
@@perjunior00 you imbecile, that obviously happens, everyone knows this. The pro controller however, is one of the most durable ever made, and will take years to get it. It will last you longer than any other controller of that price
The Nintendo controllers are too slippery, as a professional ranked player, having slippery controllers messes with my performance so I'm hoping the new switch has grips
IMAGINE BLAMING A CONTROLLER BECAUSE YOU TRASH 💀
They need to be more true replacements to Wii remote and chuck BIGGER BETTER GYRO MOUSE POINTING AND THAT COMFORTABLE hands apart core gaming core fos mouse set up think Wii remote and chuck but joycons and todays tech ANYTHING LESS IS A FAIL

I speak for everyone
JOYCONS ARE FUCKING TRASH!! How is it that Wii or Wii U gamepad or past Nintendo controllers never got drift issues
Nintendo just needs to fucking DITCH the Joycons!! There an absolute con!! They cost MORE than the games themselves (games I'm happy paying full price exgept Pokémon because Pokémon is also fucking trash) third party controllers suck
Just DITCH the Joycons and utilise the GAMECUBE controller from now on!! THE BEST Nintendo controller to date!!
You speak for yourself 👏🏾
Lot's of Switch owners love the Joycons as shown by the massive amount of Switch owners who buy multiple sets of Joycons 👍🏾
Drift issues will be fixed in the Joycons 2.0 for the Switch sucessor 🙃
