    Great video with an honest, fair, and realistic comparison. When it comes down to it, it’s a personal choice based on what someone is looking for. Personally, I prefer the Prime4. Honestly, it really doesn’t matter to me what someone else prefers. If someone else likes the Pioneer, I’m cool with that too. If we both fill the dance floor and leave people happy, does it matter the brand? If we’re both having an awesome time doing it, the brand name matters very little.
    I’m from the old school, and there is way to much emphasis on brand names these days. I’ve seen some younger DJs who go out and spend several thousand dollars on their first set-up. No matter the price, talent is not included with your purchase. I’ve also seen young guys who buy budget or used equipment, and they can rock the party better than some big bucks DJ with no talent. After all, Pauly D (or Pauly STD as I like to call him) has nothing but high priced equipment, and it sure hasn’t improved his “skills”, and I use that term very loosely when it comes to him. Of course, half the time his expensive equipment isn’t turned on or even plugged in. His adoring fan base consisting mostly of 13 year old girls wouldn’t notice anyway. Lol
    As far as Pioneer dominating the club scene, I agree that’s very true. There’s no doubt that Pioneer makes a very good product. But they’ve also excelled at mass marketing and convincing a whole lot of people that high priced equals better performances. They’ve paid a lot of clubs and well known DJs lots and lots of money to promote Pioneer as “the best.” But, I think if we’re all honest about it, current similar priced controllers regardless of brand name aren’t really that much different from each other. Essentially they all do pretty much the same thing, with a few differences here and there. It seems like we see a new controller every week with a few minor additions, as the companies are in a constant battle to one-up each other. A big corporate pissing match.
    I really hate to sound like the old guy saying “Back in my day “, but back in my day a DJ had to be flexible and able to adapt quickly on the fly. Everybody had their preferences, but when it came down to it, we could move the crowd with just about any set-up. If a club had Pioneer, we used Pioneer. If it was Denon, then we used Denon. Same with Numark, Gemini, Kmart, whatever. Lol DJs were judged much more based on their talent, and not on what brand they used.
    Sorry for the much too long rant, but the number one advice I give anybody starting out is to find your own groove, perfect it, and don’t worry about the other guy. Use what you have access to and practice until your fingers bleed. People will be so busy having an amazing time, they definitely won’t care what you’re playing on.

    Keyword is Stand alone. The Denon wins because it has a better screen and you can plug an internal hard drive into it. So what if Pioneer is the club standard. The Denon hardware just beats the crap out of Pioneer this time. $1699 for the Denon also beats Pioneer. Pioneer makes a brand new unit and gives it 2 channel stand alone mode. Real smart Pioneer.

      Can't say I disagree, except maybe with "so what if Pioneer is the club standard." By definition, quite a lot of people do. So, there's room in the market for a device like this.
      Now, had they made it fully four-channel standalone, it'd be an obvious slam-dunk for many more DJs...

      @@bboymac84 You wouldn't talk this way if you actually owned one. The XZ has a lot of advantages on the Prime 4 that has horrible platters, bad screen division, unintuitive mixer layout, no external FX ...
      XDJ-XZ pro's:
      1. Almost exactly the same as a CDJ/DJM setup (INDUSTRY STANDARD) with more functions for about one third of the price.... 2. Awesome mechanical jogwheels. 3. Much better FX section that also can be used on external inputs. 4. Better MIC-section with feedback remover. 5. Separate master equalising. 6. Completely compatible as midicontroller with Serato AND Rekordbox. (which is HUGE!) 7. Improved 64 bit DSP soundcard. 8. More intuitive layout that will make you feel at home in ANY DJ booth around the world. I can go on

Over all anyone can clearly see the prime offers more bang for the buck hands down!!!! It just comes down to which one you feel more comfotable using. The pioneer denon debate will always have people pushing pioneer becaue it's considered the industry standard even if denon makes a better product thats not widely accepted in clubs. But if you looking for features with reasonable price you have to choose Denon DJ Prime 4 because it has 4 channel standalone dj controller. Or you can consider Denon DJ MCX8000 4 channel dj controller with 2 channel standalone mode (same like XDJ XZ). Both Denon and Pioneer can use Serato DJ software.

    Since all Pioneer products were backorder for a while I decided to give the Denon Prime 4 a try. The result? I'm RUNNING back to Pioneer!! Had the Denon Prime for 2 weeks, already sold it back and already ordered the XDJ XZ, whatever time it take to get it I don't mind, I don't want to have anything to do with Denon dj, period. Even if it's more advanced by a pure technological point of you they missed where it matters the most, when you're mixing. All the faders, jog wheels and the way the functions works are WAY OFF Pioneer's PRECISION and makes you feel more like a passenger instead of the driver when you mix, compared to my XDJ RX2, let alone compared to the XDJ XZ. Pioneer totally lost it, both the game and their mind.
    Just look at their new CDJ-3000 joke for 2400 bucks.

  • @m-stat9
    @m-stat9 Před 3 lety +2

    The XZ is overpriced trash. That tiny ancient screen is awful, the loop and memory buttons outdated, the CPU and RAM very limited. Also no SD, SSD and WIFI, no full track buffering and on-board analysis. You can't use 4 decks or even do longer beat jumps than 8. What a joke! 🤦‍♂️
