    Good video brotha. I try to catch you on here when I can. That black suv will open a lot of doors for your business. We dont even have the black options here. One of my private clients a few weeks ago told me that i need to charge more. It was 4 of them and i charged $45 each way. I always let my clients pay at the end of their ride. They asked the total at the end and I said $90. Thats when they were saying when they go to ATL, they pay $250 for a 40 min ride in a black SUV. I explained this is memphis 😂 . So, instead of $90, they paid $170 to me. But, they always pay extra, most of my clients do. They said they appreciate the professional service. I usually pick up private clients in my Honda pilot because it seats 8 adults comfortably. Again, keep up the good work, bro.

      When clients appreciate you, they're not gonna take advantage of you. These apps don't appreciate drivers, which is why the employees, execs, and staff at these apps take advantage of drivers as much as they can. They dont want those people paying us directly, because we could get our own benefits, retirement plans, insurance, etc. We wouldn't need the apps to find us rides because WORD OF MOUTH is amazing, especially when clients go, "...hey, use our driver. Great personality and clean car!"
      That is what Uber is scared of: people staying people and communicating back and forth. They want TECH to replace us, and they're always gonna have pigeon drivers fighting for TECH before they fight for a driver like you. Keep making it work out there, brotha! That's an amazing bump in pay...that's SUPER SURGE right there! Uber ain't got nothing on that...from $90 to $170!

      What's funny is I dress the same but I wear this hat. No bullshit. I wear the driver hat and people love it. Same t-shirts and shorts. Same great conversation tho. I meet a lot of attorneys and corporate folks, so we talk shop. Being retired corporate, they love the stories I got abiut casino financials and all the stuff we did. We die laughing! Hahaha!
      But talking about retirement from corporate makes them happy to see that there is life after corporate. Black car service has so many corporate folks, so I fit right in with the conversation.
      My corporate client last night (like 130am pickup for airport) told me to bill him a little extra because of the late pickup. I was like, "...that's fine", and his company paid the invoice at 745am thru Square this morning. Corporate is a solid play for private!

      Same with Lyft Black, in my experience with the Expedition Max. Before the pandemic they did the same thing with Uber and Lyft drivers. They were locked out unless it was busy or they did so many rides in a week to unlock their account. Uber then said it was because too many drivers. The taxi and rideshare went head to head about it and the taxi drivers were getting pushed out by rideshare drivers. Now there are regulations on how to get a tlc permit. I definitely wouldn’t want to live in a place I couldn’t work and make a living to pay my bills. To be told to go somewhere else is crazy. I like working in Long Island but I’m sure that will affect me now going down there and turning in my apps.

    • @MicDropBBQ
      @MicDropBBQ  Před měsícem +1

      They did this on purpose by letting a ton of illegals have multiple accounts. Uber isn't stupid (for the most part). They realize that all of these phones in ONE location that are always around each other are owned by the same driver. Common sense in the algorithm will show that these devices are next to each other more than they're not, so that should flag the system that there's a scheme going on with PHONES and not with having a lot of drivers in the area. These are all devices used to jam up the system.
      If drivers aren't going private, they're gonna get scammed out of logistics, and uber doesn't care because they can pay them less and not have to worry much about it.

      We already dont get much of the fare, and then they wanna sit up there and be like, "...can we stop here to get something real quick?" No tip. No appreciation. That's why I will convert low tier rides or pull off. I will not give them a deal, then they say NO and still get a chance to ride. Nope. They gotta get out and wait on another driver.
      Now, if somebody is sliding me $100 to do a quick trip, by all means they have paid for a certain privilege and they can eat a snack in my car. I have time to clean it, being that they paid me $100 and I don't have to do a million puppy-mill rides just to make $100.

    For what it's worth, rideshare is the only industry where the pay went down after the pandemic.
    I just quit my corporate job and went back to rideshare here in Vegas. Man oh man, was I in for a surprise.
    Most rides are in $4-$5 range, especially here on a strip. On paper looks like a decent ride: $5 for 1.5 miles. But you once you factor that it takes you about 20 minutes to complete it, it averages to $15 an hour. A 15 mile trip 2 years ago would get you around $16. Now you're lucky if you get $11-$12.
    Still remembering the market though. So far that I learned is don't take strip rides and nature hikes. Once I get a feel for the price, I will start converting the riders.

    • @MicDropBBQ
      @MicDropBBQ  Před měsícem

      I usually do a ride or two every few hours without converting to see the going rate on conversions. When events hit, it's almost automatic conversion from UberX/XL and Lyft Basic/Comfort/XL. I will only do a Black ride IF the pay is really high. But most of the time, the riders are charged between $8 to $20/mile for the event rides and we're being paid $3 - 5/mile.
      For daily rides, you gotta scout and see what the market rate is.

    • @MicDropBBQ

      @nicolas12730 And when people realize they pay LESS per day in commercial insurance but make MORE per day doing cash rides, they'll see that converting cash rides and HAVING COVERAGE is an option that they can always choose. The app insurance is expensive per ride, whereas your own policy would be so much cheaper and have lower deductibles.
      People need to weigh their options, but ONE option I'm not gonna do is 100% app rides. Hell no. I'm not being sold like a slave every time I open my car door. If the apps aren't willing to negotiate, then I will negotiate for myself. Fck that. And with that money, BUILD YOUR BUSINESS RIGHT! The apps will not help you build your business, and they will FEE you to death!

      Facts. The apps are in a chase to keep their revenues growing, and Dara already said they are decreasing driver incentives and paying drivers LESS to create more corporate profits. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what he saying: Uber is gonna charge the same OR MORE for rides, and we're paying drivers as little as possible to increase our margins.
      When he said that, I knew that DRIVER profits are now on the drivers. If we sit back and let them dictate our prices and FIX our rates, we are not contracting. We're employed without benefits, pretty much. Get on the conversion game or get left in the dust. No other way around it. Rideshare is not paying what it used to, and it never will. Uber knows what the market is doing: we're competing. Many drivers are realizing we are contractors and are not falling for the shit anymore. The apps are aware, so they are retaining customers by charging less, making conversions less reasonable for a rider.
      Put them on HUM and explain why. That's my solution. Let them know we can leave them on the app and do a rate adjustment, but if he's paying $27 with a $5 tip, he's really paying $32 total. We want the $32 total.
