Not everyone everywhere is wearing masks, where I live there’s low cases and no mask mandates so I never wear a mask and neither do most people around here. So no I don’t feel weird when I’m not wearing a mask cause no one else is either lol I haven’t worn a mask much at all only a handful of times
Motherhood is not just popping out a kid...I’ve had 4 children but that’s not what makes me a mother. Loving them, caring for them, raising them and putting their needs ahead of your own, spending time with them and just being there for them, that’s a mom.

When someone says they're brutally honest, they're usually taking that as an open invitation to be brutal.
The fact that people actually want Shane to come back to CZcams is ridiculous to me. He’s so disgusting.
There's a part of me that feels bad for him. I can't imagine how hard these past months must've been for him, no one deserves to be treated the way he was treated on social media, but then it's like, he literally has no saving grace. I can't imagine him coming back and pretending like everything's fine when we've all seen and heard the things he did and said.

The ig live he did really showcased how much everything that was going on affected him, and I hope during the time he was offline he was able to reflect over the horrible things he did. I really don't want him to come back to CZcams though.

@@dorar3941 uh- the whole situation between shane, jeffree, tati and james ? his live right after tati uploaded her last video with speaking on the situation. he isn’t the victim. just because there’s other people who don’t deserve the platform they have due to problematic actions- doesn’t excuse every influencer that can’t deal with the consequences of their actions.
I hate "hot takes" that are just, historical art wouldn't be good if it were today.
Congratulations, you've discovered that cultural conttext plays a role in how we percieve art. (It also ignores the fact that the absense of incredibly influential music acts would have a ripple effect, because their impact on artists that came afterwords would also dissapear.)

Also, don’t forget! A ton of artwork, like the Mona Lisa, may not be all that great on its own, but famous and valuable artwork has its own context and historical significance that makes it famous or valuable
This is so spot on. You can't take art out of its context and then declare it as bad. The context is as or more important than the art itself.
Consider all of the things Americans were willing to do during World War One and Two in the spirit of patriotism: they grew Victory Gardens to supplement their diets when meat and sugar were rationed, observed “wheatless Wednesdays” to conserve bread, implemented Daylight saving to conserve coal, women painted stockings on their legs to conserve nylon, school children gathered scrap metal to donate to the war effort, etc. Wearing a mask is a comparatively small ask. They cost a few dollars and are at most an annoyance. It’s literally the least people can do.

People have turned it into a control issue and it’s super gross. It’s toddlers in adult bodies walking around, denying science and directly insulting doctors while endangering their community. I am so tired of saying “pls remember to wear a mask” at entire families I see out. It’s not fake, it’s not “living in fear,” it’s literally just being a nice person to choose to wear a mask. This is a terrifying place to live when ppl are proud to be stupid.

I've been going back and forth about how I feel regarding the unpopular opinion about sex work. On one hand, I completely agree with you and I think that we should not deem sex workers as being "undignified." However, I think that encouraging sex work can be dangerous and ignores the trauma that so many sex workers go through. Furthermore, I feel like there is a huge trend on social media (specifically Twitter) where more teenagers and young adults are being exposed to the idea of sex work (i.e. through OnlyFans) and it is being glorified in a way that ignores how difficult sex work can be for women (and men!). And in many cases, underage men and women are almost being groomed by society/the internet to see sex work as "easy money" and are not exposed to the potential dangers and responsibilities that may come with sex work. (disclaimer: I DO NOT think sex work is easy money this is just an opinion I have seen online).
I wholeheartedly think that if someone feels empowered through sex work then there is absolutely nothing wrong with that and I also think that sex workers should be respected and protected just as any other type of worker. I just think it is important to incorporate the potential dangers and side effects (i.e. trauma) of sex work into the conversation.
Onlyfans being so prevalent online right now and being used as a generalisation of sex work is definitely a little strange.
I support the workers, but have a big problem with the industry (especially porn industry). Most of these places are not good or safe, even legal ones. I also had to do some deep thinking when I saw a bunch of sex workers fighting to get Backpage put back up (this is a website that condoned and HELPED with the trafficking of minors), I was horrified that people would willingly put children in danger because it made their own jobs easier. It also made me question how bad the industry must be on other sites/irl, since they were fighting so hard for this crap site to be saved. Don't feel bad for questioning the industry, if people REALLY cared about the workers, they'd consider these things. Legal does not equal safe, either. Legal SW isnt going to stop trafficking like so many people claim, children will still be trafficked, and even trafficked adults will cost less than a consenting worker, as is the case already. I really, REALLY wish the pro SW crowd would actually think of solutions to these problems rather than ignore them. It's even worse that many people are accused of being SWERFs just for mentioning these problems.
You're also spot on about minors being groomed with a glamorized version of sex work. But current sex workers are much less likely to be open about the realities of SW, that can impact their job. You'll hear the most truthful accounts from former workers, and unfortunately those aren't the ones that these kids are hearing about.

I wish I had a solution but it seems to be very nuanced.

Lin manuel Miranda is also a composer-he's composed the music for SO much, including Moana, Mary Poppins, and a bunch of other stuff☺
His composing and lyrics are his strong points. His singing is meh compared to other Broadway skill, but he makes up for it in earnestness. He's totally in love with his roles and you can sense that.
I think he was really good as lee scorsby in his dark materials especially in this most recent series where we get to see a bit more of lee scorsby as a character and learn more about him

I think that the point of his character is that he is more emotional and sings almost like he is out of breath and constantly trying to catch up with everyone around him, and I don't think he's supposed to be the best singer in the group
I read somewhere that people who pride themselves in brutal honesty, don't do so because they love honesty. They do so because they love brutality
Food for thought: In my culture this expression doesn't exist, it's just culturally excepted. If someone dislikes you they'll tell you to your face, if there is part of your personality/behaviour they find annoying you'll know. however, if they connect with you or there are parts that they like you'll be told so as well.
It can be hurtful when it comes to from those close to you but if it's a stranger no one cares, at all, because there are only so many f to give.

I guess in the west(ish) countries (i live in Central Europe, got parents who're from the balkans doe) we all know a bitch (gender neutral here) who obviously likes to bully people but hides behind this trope to avoid the backlash. Makes sense that if everybody's sense of honesty was that straight forward, the trope wouldn't exist. Because the goal of it wouldn't be bullying. But in western(ish) countries it very much can be used for that. Sounds kinda fun doe (and freeing!), holiday dinners must be fun lmao!
I know a girl from high school that is pregnant and she posts on social media constantly about being medically exempt from wearing a mask. She complains constantly about being hounded at the grocery store and asking people if there is a nail salon that will allow her to not wear one. Ugh the entitlement pisses me off so much. I'm pregnant too and while wearing a mask makes me more nauseous sometimes, I put up with it or I stay home.
Shouldn't that give her more of a reason to wear a mask! I mean we don't really know how covid affects pregnant women but if you really cared about your child you would be doing everything you could to protect them. Plus its literally not that hard to wear a mask unless you have a breathing issue. Plus wanting to go to a freaking nail salon without a mask on right now is selfish and unnecessary. Does she really need to get her nails done that bad?! I dunno why I wrote this whole thing but yeah that's absolutely selfish and terrible especially to her baby. Also I hope your pregnancy goes well and I hope your baby is as healthy as can be.
@@bdthecat3517 trust me. I feel exactly the same. I've tried politely messaging her and she didn't respond well to the criticism at all. I have a hard time believing that any doctor would medically exempt anyone unless they were on like an oxygen pump. I honestly do not get it.

@@bora3859 thank you. Its really not hard to put up with it for the short amount of time you're in a store or something. I just have to make sure my masks are clean or they make the nausea worse (which is just a good habit to have anyway)
covid has a 99.95% recovery rate and masks don't work. If they did, why are cases going up? And - what happened to the flu?
The thing with weddings too is you're paying people (caterers, florists, dressmakers, photographers) for their services. When people start to complain about the prices, for me, it verges close to the whole issue of 'not paying artists' for their artwork or expecting people to do something for 'exposure'. I work in media and have had people ask me before if they know any students who would want to film their wedding 'for the experience'. Like, no, if you want a student, you have to freaking pay them or you get a shit wedding video, I'm sorry.
I think the issue is more, when a service (like a bakery) hears wedding cake vs. any other they up the price by a ton. I can understand paying more for an elaborate or large cake, they take more time and more materials. But automatically charging two bucks more a cupcake because they're for a wedding vs a birthday party is ridiculous. Also, yes, if you don't want shit wedding video's or pictures, pay people!
@@issabee7743 True. I also think though that the stakes are so much higher for a wedding, so the higher price is almost like an insurance? I don't know (I'm not married and not getting married anytime soon, hahah). People can ask a cake maker for a 'Graduation' Cake rather than a Wedding Cake, but if the cake is not to their liking, well, then you paid for a Grad cake, not a wedding cake (I'm not making much sense, I think, apologies!) I agree though, weddings are only as expensive as you make them - the cake, the dress, everything doesn't *have* to be super fancy, but until there's a big cultural reset the wedding industry will keep trucking along quite happily. I had family who instead of cake got a big stand of donuts for everyone, it was fantastic 😂
i worked as a cake decorator through college and up until my bakery shut down due to covid; we did a lot of weddings so i figured i’d throw my two-cents in here! all of this is conditional to the particular bakery i worked for, so feel free to take it with a grain of salt. wedding cakes are inherently more expensive because you’re paying for the additional services tacked on. compared to say a graduation cake, they are usually much larger and require more structure, the decorations are more intricate, and in general are more time and labor intensive which means they cost the bakery more employee wages. important too is that wedding cakes are usually worked on by multiple decorators while graduation and birthday cakes are usually tasked to just one, which again factors into wages. on top of that, in a wedding package you are also paying for a complimentary tasting as well as delivery to the venue. in the case of a birthday or graduation cake, customers tend to come pick them up themselves. however, weddings are some of the busiest days of a person’s life, and wedding cakes are arguably one of the most important you will ever buy, so bakeries will far more often than not transport the cake and set it up at the venue themselves. with that, expenses such as gas, vehicle insurance, and employee wages are reflected in the total cost of the cake.
a cheaper alternative would be to go in to a bakery, pay for a few cupcakes to taste yourself, order as many as you need in whichever flavor you pick, keep decorations minimal, purchase a stand from a craft store, and send a friend to pick up the cupcakes & set up the stand at the venue day-of! you can avoid all the added fees that way and still have a fantastic result. 🧁

The added “wedding” fee is so the wedding goes smoothly for everyone. For having to work with bridezillas, overbearing parents-in-law, getting everything where it needs to be on time, as well as being ready to be flexible, etc. The stakes at a wedding are often WAY higher than a graduation or family reunion, and so are the needs, services often come at a premium to accommodate that.
My boyfriend is a teacher and I'm a social media manager...he should be making triple what I make at least! You couldn't pay me enough to be a teacher, ESPECIALLY right now in a global pandemic.
I helped my mom a while back cause she would have to pay for someone else and you could pay me $1000 a day and not no not doing it.
I'm a kindergarten teacher. I would currently rather be a youtuber.
I've thought a lot about how hilarious it would be to record my facial expressions every day and compile them into videos for a youtube channel, lol.
I don't think I have what it takes to be a teacher, my hats off to those that are teachers.
giiiirl i taught preschool for about 4 months and i loved it but decided to pursue other careers. i’m now in public health but have so much respect for our teachers and educators!! i agree they should earn a much more fair living 🖤🖤🖤
I had a friend tell me that because I wasn’t a mother I couldn’t have an opinion about women’s reproduction rights that would affect me...umm that’s not how it works. No longer friends
absolutely agree that women don't need to give birth to feel "whole"... and I'd like to add that women don't need to have kids/a family at all to be whole! we need to stop pressuring women (and others) to have kids

Student loans are incredibly predatory, I definitely agree. We may be adults at 18 but we have not experienced life or the value of money, not to mention they LIE about requirements to make you spend more and take out more loans (yes, you read that right). I remember I thought I would immediately get a 40k job out of college and be able to pay off my 40 thousand dollar loan in 2 years 🙃😒 yeah fuckin right. Im just glad it wasn't more.
In the U.K. we have a cap on loans so the unis aren’t allowed to charge more than £9,250 a year and then after 30 years (I think) the debt gets completely wiped. Not saying it’s a perfect system, we’re definitely quite expensive compared to the rest of Europe but it seems a lot fairer than the US, it’s a step in the right direction
@@Tasha-ry6co Those regulations are awesome. I feel like that should be implemented everywhere. Right now in the US you can take out 10k annually just for housing on campus and an overpriced meal plan.

I went to beauty school and I got scammed & was kicked out of the school I went to for missing a week because my dad was in the hospital with bad heart complications. I now owe like 8,000 dollars and wasn’t even allowed to get my license and now because I was kicked out and owe so much money it’s hard for me to go back to school. I’m like stuck now and I’m not allowed to do makeup & hair professionally without the risk of being fined!!! Bc in my state you can’t do cosmetic services without having a license, idk if it’s different in other states. I get calls daily from the debt collector and I can’t afford to pay it. It’s so ridiculous
i am autistic and am exempt from wearing a mask, i choose to wear one, but during a particularly sensory overwhelming day, the sensation of a mask can be overwhelming, so i don't wear one then but always try to. So whenever someone who isn't exempt isn't wearing one i just feel so angry, because I can't wear one sometimes and they could potentially be getting me, and the people around me, ill because they are selfish...

I'm in the same boat. I also try but I know when I need to get out I get out. Having my BF with me helps but there's still been several close calls where I've nearly passed out due to a panic attack from cleithrophobia and sensory overload.
I pretty much don't leave my apartment because of that, and the angry looks I get when I'm unmasked and in my own damn car. It sucks having your hard-won independence snatched from you because of this and those who simply don't understand that not everyone *can* wear a mask (in my area bylaws have exemptions but there are a lot of places who refuse to acknowledge that it exists).

But how do you know if someone else is exempt? Point being, I appreciate you doing your part, but if you have a reason to not wear your mask and struggle to wear one, others may have the same issue. 🤷🏼♀️
I hate people that brag about being “brutally honest”. You can be honest with tact and respect. It just seems like something people say to justify being an asshole. I feel like people who use being “brutally honest” as their defining personality trait have low emotional intelligence and or an inflated ego.
I couldn't agree more ! I'm blunt whatever my mood, but I never hurt anyone's feelings, I can't stand the idea of upsetting people, especially those I care about. I also feel like the ones who brag about being "brutally honest" weaponize this personality trait to scare, intimidate and manipulate others. Paradoxically, there is something very mean and dishonest underlying there. Honesty doesn't prevent compassion and kindness !

The only times I've ever said that is to prepare someone for the fact that they might get upset by what I have to tell them. Unfortunately, many people (especially NT) don't seem to understand that when I ask "Can I be honest with you?" I'm probably not going to sugar coat things and thus get upset when I tell them something quite bluntly. Giving them a heads up also gives them the opportunity to let me know if they're not in the mindset to receive information in that kind of straightforward way. I'd never call myself brutally honest though.
It's just a way to avoid getting pulled up on just being an awful person, you can be honest whilst still being thoughtful, careful and compassionate where necessary

Lin knows he's not the best singer and he writes around that. Both Hamilton and Usnavi rap for a majority of their respective shows and when they do sing, they do not sing anything vocally challenging (not too high, not too low, very basic melodically) and that's because Lin knows he's not a good singer.
Lin is the example of "Don't see the roles/representation you want? Write it yourself." What I personally love about Lin is that he is very realistic about his abilities (and very humble as well), but the best part is that he knows his strengths in performance and writes around them That is the sign of not only a good writer/composer, but an intelligent one.
Edit (wanted to add this part about quarantining): Quarantine would be SO much worse without the internet and streaming being available.

I CAN'T have children. It was a total shock to me and my family because I was always the nurturing and mothering type. I am a favourite Auntie to 5 nieces and nephews and work with kids in community theatre, so I know I'm having some kind of impact on young people. I am definitely a whole person. It took 5 or 6 years, but I'm so happy now. It bothers me so much that there are people who only derive a sense of meaning from their ability to give birth. Not healthy for anyone.

Thank you RE: Lin Manuel Miranda, because I actually find the need to have flawless outrageous vocals by every singer to be a flaw in modern musicals. A character voice absolutely has a place in the theatrical canon, and listening to Lin makes my heart happy precisely because he's not a polished professional singer.
I’ve hated Camilla and Charles since I was little cause my mom used to read and watch hundreds of articles, interviews and documentaries cause she LOVED Diana, and she used to talk about Diana’s entire life and how the Royal family treated her. Awful, awful family, I’m glad Harry and Meghan left them.

And then there's the thing with the und/r/ge pr/st/t/n ring that at least one survivor says one of the princes (I think maybe Charles? Edit: It was Andrew) was a part of, or at least a returning customer. There's a documentary about the ring. I think the guy who ran it was found de/d in prison/whatever the place is called where you go while under arrest. Haven't watched it in a while, but it made me question my views of the UK Royal Family.
i think people are unfortunately having their “tumblr” experience on tik tok however tumblr was so condensed and so contained to tumblr it’s scary for people to have such a toxic experience of tik tok bc of how huge it is

There's so much waste in Beauty CZcams - all the physical make-up and pr that people receive that's wasteful, packages and preferences. Makeup that 'feels expensive' has been weighted down as is mixed-material plastic, which is nearly impossible to recycle and takes even longer to break down than regular plastic. Fast-makeup is just as damaging as fast fashion, and we need to change attitudes about consumption and especially very wasteful packaging.

I'm disgusted at myself as well for all the product I've bought and thrown out in the past! I hope there is a big change in the beauty community.
@@aradiasnowdon7016 Hahaha, I don't even wear makeup myself and I honestly do like weighted packaging but it's not worth it. Lately have been trying to use 'naked' products without any packaging at all, I'm awful for going through bottles of shampoo and conditioner quickly. The one type of pr I think is the worst is sending one person an *entire* foundation line. The issue is obviously more widespread than just makeup, but responsible consumerism is important. Release less products, buy less of each type, and use what you own!
Preach. I just purchased some elf eye cream and moisturizer and I am so mad at how weighted the packaging is. It feels so lux but it shouldn't and I hate it. I'm going to email them to complain.
Also, yeah, beauty CZcams and PR is a big part of the problem and so wasteful. Yeah, corporations are a huge part of the problem. But so is glamorizing buying new palettes constantly.

Thank you for your opinion on motherhood! I'm a step mom and my step daughter calls me mom--I AM her mom--and I've been in her life since she was a baby. I have SO many people, who despite knowing all this, still ask me and my partner when or if we plan to "have children of our own". Like hello we already have a child of our own, she's right there, and she is amazing. I know people mean well but it's a slap to the face and undermines me and my daughter's relationship each and every time it happens

I think that women should have the right to do be in sex right of their own free will (of course) since it does not harm others and frankly, it's on the client to decide what they are willing to pay for just like it is up to the sex worker to decide what they are comfortable doing. But due to the patriarchy we live in I think it is hard to separate that from the constant objectification that women face. I think that the issue doesn't lie with the women doing the sex work but rather with the patriarchy (notably men and women who judge women about their sexuality).
I agree people forget their sex work because there are consumers, even men do sex work but you never hear them being objectified that’s just how society is, they always focus on what the woman is doing with her body... let people do what they want if nobody is getting physically harmed . I’d worry more about sex trafficking and all that rather than individuals choosing what they wanna do with their body

I was pointing out that theoretically sex work does not harm anyone because if both parties have clear communication and are participating consensually (and of course with proper protection i.e. condoms) then neither party is harmed and a private transaction isn't likely to harm others around them. However the other side of my comment is that theoretical scenario is difficult if not impossible to divorce from a society that systematically views women and other members who are not straight cis white men as less than and particularly with women view them as sex objects. There will always be an element of objectification which makes it difficult to say there is no harm.

Partly true. Like, photo's and video's and even flowers take way more work for a wedding vs say a graduation party. I got angry when one bakery we were considering heard our very plain, vanilla and chocolate cupcakes (no decorations, just frosting) was for a wedding and our quoted price went up by nearly 100%. I am totally in favor of paying people for their labor (and art) but too many wedding related services scam the hell out of people. Should you pay more for a wedding cake? That depends on if it's huge and fancy. If all you're asking for is a small round with buttercream so you can symbolically cut the cake? Then yeah, the wedding tax is a scam.

As a wedding photographer, ive rubbed shoulders with a lot of people in the industry, many of the vendors mark up for weddings because perfection is expected, extra help is usually needed, backups sometime made "just in case" and there is way more liabilities and hidden costs for big productions than a regular job.

I'm 24, and because of my severe endometriosis doctors have told me since I was 19 that I had to consider adoption over reproduction, because I'm bound to miscarry. I really want to be a mom, I've always felt like that was my calling, but I'm terrified of my adopted kid yelling at me that I'm not his or her mother during his teenage years. I know it's cliché, and a mean prejudice, but that terrifies me. I feel in my bones that my kid, no matter out of whose legs it would have popped, would be an extension of myself, and I couldn't bear hearing this :(

as someone who listens to kpop quite a bit lol i would recommend TWICE and Red Velvet (since you said you like pop music) but honestly there are sooo many groups with great pop music that it's hard to even pick any 😅 the kpop community is super welcoming to new people tho so no harm in asking!!
Idk if this is unpopular BUT, the US refund system is wild. Returning a used product because you dont like it is so wasteful, in the UK, if its used at all, an exchange is the best you’ll get in very small circumstances.

No, of course not, but as someone looking at this situation from an outside perspective I would be pretty suspicious if right after I posted a cosplay that someone else did the same character with a similar pose/setup. Just something to think about, especially since nonblack creators ripping off black creators without giving credit or mentioning them as inspiration is something that IS still extremely prevalent.

Loved the comment about motherhood. I get treated in 2 very weird and very different ways for being a foster/adoptive mother. People either treat me like I’m a saint or a second class mom. Honestly it took me a bit to get into kpop too but you will NOT regret it, it really hits different especially once you figure out which are your favorite groups and get to know the idols as individuals
As for recommendations, Spotify has some pretty good playlists like K-Pop Daebak, Nolja, and KimBops! if you want to dive right in :)
And as for groups, SHINee is a classic that pretty much every kpop stan loves. Taemin from SHINee is also a solo artist and his songs are *chef's kiss* and he's an amazing dancer
