We discuss and grapple with plenty of medical and scientific issues in the political realm. It is perfectly appropriate to use medical terminology as a part of politics.

As someone who is German too, it is beyond me that people compare the worst genocide comitted in world history to literally ANYTHING, it is insanely disgusting and disrespectful to the victims of the Holocaust and the nazi Regime in general, and it comes at a time where more and more survivors sadly pass and extremist and nationalist worldviews rise again around the world, aka a time where it's more than important to remember all the irreversible atrocities Germany committed. Yeah I lost my sh** when he said there wasn't a medical reason for getting an abortion. My own mother is a beautiful example of why that is false. When she was 18 years old, she got pregnant with her then boyfriend. Upon telling him that she was pregnant, his response was to punch her in the stomach in an attempt to terminate her pregnancy. Mind you, she wanted the baby, but he did not. So she had to be rushed to a clinic to check on the status of her pregnancy following the incident, and it turns out that unfortunately the fetus did not survive. They then had to abort the fetus to, you know, avoid infection. Removing a dead fetus is still an abortion. And yes there are people who have miscarried and passed the fetus without an abortion, but again, they did so to avoid infection and other complications. let’s also not forget when they “pranked” their four year old by telling her they were getting rid of their dog and filmed her all day sobbing her eyes out. then went as far as to tell her that she could be the one to hand over the dog to the new owner before they finally told her “it was a joke”. she was so upset she couldn’t speak. it was absolutely repulsive.

In 1969 and 1970 when the lady who had me was pregnant abortion was not an option, even though she was only 13 at the time! I pray that if given the choice she would have chosen what was best for HER life and I know that her choice may have been to abort me and I would not be alive but I also have raised children and currently have a granddaughter who will be 13 in a few months and I fully cannot comprehend what a pregnancy and delivering a baby would do to her emotionally! I actually made the choice to terminate a pregnancy 30 years ago and for reasons that are solely my own I do not regret that decision. My sons are now 33 and 28 and I love them dearly but I also know that having that child 30 years ago would have put my life and my oldest sons life in grave danger as I could not afford to feed my existing child without a lot of help.

I walked in, they confirmed my pregnancy, asked what options I'd like. I told them I know I don't want an abortion, but that's it. They printed out OB's in the area that accepted my insurance, they gave resources for local adoption agencies, and they gave information for how to apply for WIC. They asked if I needed clothes or supplies, and then I left. As terrified as I was to become a mother, I left that office knowing the was help for me.

She expressed in so many ways to me how she didn’t want to continue the pregnancy because she was too young and the doctors said that it was very high risk, so she asked to terminate the baby. She is to this day still happy with her decision, and when she saw Cole and savannah’s documentary, she was really upset, as was I, it made us lose respect towards their channel. Women do deserve a right to terminate the baby if it’s a teen pregnancy, if there’s a life threatening risk or if it’s unplanned and not being ready to have kids.

I have a son whom I literally love with all my heart and wouldn’t trade for anything! I made that decision to become a mother, and yet I’m still pro choice. Having a child is not easy, so I would never shame a woman who isn’t ready or even willing to take on that responsibility. It’s like they’d rather knowingly have these kids grow up in a horrible situation all because they forced a woman to have a baby she didn’t want in the first place. Pregnancy is actually really hard and scary though people only ever paint it as “beautiful” and “amazing”. Not to mention if you’re high risk and a POC like I myself because that opens a whole other can of worms. No one wants to have that conversation though. It genuinely seems like people really only care until the baby is born and then they complain about how their tax money is going to feeding those children. Make it make sense. Having been pregnant and having a baby, has really affirmed my stance on been pro-choice. Mine was planned and very wanted beforehand but still, it was all so hard; even though it was a pretty healthy and stable pregnancy the whole time. For the most part, I hated being pregnant, it can be so miserable and difficult at times and birth was very scary for me (but it was worth it TO ME, because I wanted my son). I absolutely wouldn't want anyone to go through it unless it were their own choice. Not to mention, pregnancy and birth can be so dangerous. My sister-in-law has been having literal heart issues throughout her pregnancy and has been in and out of the hospital. She was even at the hospital when my son was born, because she was having issues with her pregnancy. I couldn't imagine forcing someone to go through something like that, if they didn't want to be pregnant or to have a baby. My sister-in-law loves her baby and is really excited for her but that is what makes it worth it for her. If someone doesn't want the baby, there doesn't seem to be a light at the end for those people; they don't get anything positive out of it and that can be so hard on them. Even if someone were to decide on giving them up for adoption, pregnancy and birth can be so traumatic. It's not just simply developing the baby and popping it out. It can leave them with trauma, a change in their body that may be hard to grasp, and possibly postpartum depression. It changes so much, even if you aren't the one who ends up raising the baby. Not a single person should be forced into any part of it. I hope that you and your son are doing well, regardless of how long it has been since birth 💚💚 I especially hope that your mental health is alright, because you matter too.

I live in AZ and the hoops you have to jump through for getting your tubes tied in AZ is NUTS. You have to be all of the following before a doctor can consider doing something like having your tubes tied: 1) Over the age of 25, 2) Be married for at least 10 years and 3) youngest child has to be at least 6 months old or older. The ONLY time you can get around this is for Medical Necessity. I was fortunate that I was able to get my tubes tied at an early age due to Medical Necessity (only have 1 kidney) but I have a friend that had to wait until she was 26 before she could get her tubes tied because of AZ's law about sterilization. She never wanted kids and knew that she was never going to want to have kids but because she did not have any already and had no intentions on marrying her doctor was bound by state law to make her wait until after the age of 25 to get her tubes tied. Things here are not that good here for elective sterilization, trust in that.

I know people who have had late-term abórtiöns and every single one of those was a very much wanted baby. Rare would be the person who gets to 20 weeks in pregnancy and goes, “Nah. I’m out.”
So these parents, who are going through something that no parent should ever go through, are judged for the worst thing to ever happen to them. Something they desperately wish they didn’t have to do. It’s heartbreaking.
A very close friend of mine found out at 19 weeks that her baby had Trisomy 18 (Edwards Syndrome). She made the choice to continue the pregnancy and her son died in utero at 30 weeks. That was HER choice.
Do you know how absolutely devastating it is to carry your child for 11 weeks just waiting for him to die? She had to have so many medical appointments, she had to have so many therapy appointments. She is LUCKY she lives in Australia where we have a medical system that meant she had no medical bills from this. No person should be forced to live through that. They should have the option to end the pregnancy and begin the grieving process without living in limbo before they can.
In my due in group with my second son, a woman’s baby was diagnosed with the same thing. She chose to terminate, and I fully believe she was just as brave as my friend who continued the pregnancy. She was absolutely and utterly devastated doing it.
Did you know that terminating that late means that they simply induce labor? You have to go through an actual delivery knowing the baby you love so much is going to die. The woman in my DIG was hoping and praying her baby would take a single breath because in South Australia at the time, she wouldn’t get a birth certificate if he didn’t. Unfortunately, he was stillborn. That meant she couldn’t access maternity leave from her work. She couldn’t get the stillborn payment from the government to help with funeral expenses. She had no record of her baby’s life and death, even though everywhere else in Australia, a birth and death certificate are always issued after 20 weeks.
This is the reality behind people who get late-term abórtiöns. It is absolutely heart wrenching and people who campaign against it REEK of the privilege of never having been in that position. It’s disgusting.
That’s without even going into the fact that, like you, I believe it doesn’t make a damn the reason why a woman chooses to end a pregnancy. Her body, her choice. But I like to highlight the reality behind late-term pregnancy termination for those who don’t know.

I suffered with pre eclampsia during my pregnancy and it developed into straight up eclampsia and I had a seizure in my sleep at 34 weeks and had to have an emergency c-section. My daughter and I almost died that night. It was incredibly traumatizing and I WILL NEVER willingly go through that again. It is way to dangerous and since I’m “too young” to get my tubes tied if I ever get pregnant again I will 100% get an abortion. Some things deserve an intense rant, and it was really beneficial to hear someone mention how fucked up all of this is. I live in Florida, so between the abortion bans and anti-LGBTQ bills recently, I've dealt with more stress than I'd like to right now. What was so terrifying about Texas aside from the intention was how those needed to consider their options for current pregnancies suddenly had them ripped away. Clinics suddenly have to tell people that they can no longer provide the service, then hey, a judge has lifted it until it can be further reviewed, then nope, we suddenly have to cancel appointments because that also got overturned. And then you have those fucking "clinics" who deliberately lie about how far along a pregnancy is so that even if the person finds a place that can actually give them all options, they were tricked into missing the legal window. I would love to see more regulation fighting against deliberately misleading those looking for help. Clear disclosures about what they are would be a great step, but I also think it's disgusting pushing for someone to keep a pregnancy under assurances of all of the support they will receive, only for them to realize too late that it wasn't fully (if at all) true.

If you're up for it (you will be attacked by her fans, 110% guarantee) I would love to see you do a video on Maia Knight. I think it's a really interesting scenario where she is essentially getting a free pass to be a child exploiter because she's pretty and funny, and her babies are adorable. She posts multiple tik toks PER DAY based around her twins babies, showing intimate moments like waking up, bath time, and meltdowns. She's also made and sold merch with her children's names on them - reminder these kids just turned ONE. One quick look through her followers list shows you that a large portion of her audience is grown men, and more recently she's been made aware that her children's photos are ALLEGEDLY on cp sites - and she still continues to post them. Additionally, the parasocial relationships people have with those babies are literally insane. Look in any of her comment sections and you'll see things along the lines of "post a new video, its been too long since I've seen the babies", "I'm their dad now", etc etc. It's just so odd to me she's doing just about everything that the ~problematic~ family vloggers are doing, yet no one bats an eye.

What’s crazy about the whole pro choice vs pro life argument is that 95% of people getting abortions don’t just get up one day and make that choice happily. I’ve never met a woman that’s ever not thought about that abortion and has never had some sort of guilt about having one. It is absolutely heartbreaking to have to make that choice for yourself. But of course prolifers don’t see that. It’s so sad.
Edit: I guess some people are misunderstanding what I’m trying to say here so I’ll clarify. I’m not implying that everyone feels guilty about an abortion, nor that there’s any regrets. what I’m saying is that I’ve never met anyone that has derived some sick pleasure from having an abortion as some prolifers tend to imply. They did it knowing it was the best option for them at the time.

I live in Oklahoma, and my best friend had an ectopic pregnancy almost two years ago. Had these current laws been in place then, she would either be dead today or on trial defending why she has a right to choose not to die.
Oh, and her medical conditions and treatments make it very difficult for her to have children, so this WOULDVE been a WANTED pregnancy, but there was NO WAY the embryo could’ve survived. It was attached to her Fallopian tube and had caused it to rupture. Making it MEDICALLY NECESSARY for a termination of pregnancy or she would’ve been dead in a few hours, by the time it was discovered. They said it was miraculous that she could even walk into the ER.
