- Hi friends! So today's video we are talking about the new P.Louise collection that centers around being "cancelled". I think that this is really reflective of a larger issue where influencers try to profit and make light of being "cancelled". I can't wait to hear what you guys think of this topic! I love you guys so much and I will see you in the next one!

Your voice gets so high when your about to destroy someone. Squeaking out “I think it’s so interesting”, means your about to drop a truth bomb.
This made me laugh so hard 😂😂😂
This is an excellent observation and hilariously accurate. Thank you for being you
This is so funny and so true 😂 I can hear her saying that 😂
It’s the way that celebrities/influencers have taken the word “cancel culture” and made it into a way for them to both gain sympathy and to make money by making fun of it lol.
Exactly!
Honestly I don't even feel bad about people experiencing cancel culture. No one has ever been cancelled by it and literally these huge influencers will just use their voices to silence any of the valid criticism while also shifting blame towards people who are holding them _accountable_ in the first place.
Reminds me of Jaclyn Hill's "cancelled" halloween costume- i think it was last year or something? im pretty sure it was on the same year as her lipstick scandal which was so... so fucking tone deaf
@@51flirty yes!! She just recently made a joke about the lipstick scandal that was really cute and funny but last years responses were NOT it
They take advantage of the fact that there are loud enough idiots that put #cancelled next to anyone who they midly dislike or disagree with (like some twitter account who snapped her smash bros for the switch game just because Steve from Minecraft was added, because the creator of the game (Notch) is a complete idiot who supports straight pride ammongst other dumb shit, the thing about it is that he sold the game years ago, so he doesn't make more money out of it, so you're not supporting him in any way) and try to make everyone who tries to hold them accountable look like the loud idiots, so it makes everyone who tries to rightfully criticize them look like idiots to their 10 year old fans.
I totally agree... being held accountable is NOT the same as being canceled.
Precisely. People bandwagoning on horrific accusations and celebrating everyone sh*tting on your grave a la James Charles 2019 = cancel culture. People deciding to not support a shite brand is _accountability._ Influencers purposefully confuse the two, because now being 'cancelled' is synonymous with sympathy, and now people have realised there is a way to differentiate constructive criticism and action, and blatant abuse and clowning for the sake of fun. When you truly think about it, it's as toxic and disgusting as those who think cancel culture is okay.
Absolutely
@Mary Ray Yes, yes and more yes! And none of this "well I'm only here for his good products", "me giving her my views won't make a difference" or "well everyone else is being loud about this for me, soo.." - _everyone_ is thinking the exact same thing, and thus _doing_ the exact same thing, because they think their individual actions have no impact. And that's how social medias stay loud but these companies/people still be making profits.
P. Luise: says the N-word
everyone: hmm.. you shouldn't...
P. Louse: THESE ARE BULLIES! THESE ARE HIGH SCHOOL BULLIES!
It’s interesting because I’ve seen some comments online from people who said they went to the same school as her and apparently she had a reputation for being a bully. Of course these are accusations and may not necessarily be true, but you usually find that genuinely mean people like to play the victim when they receive an ounce of criticism.
Lmfaoooo I read it in GH’s voice 🤣
It's the way that I didn't even know Miss Louise had a scandal and she just drew everyone's attention to it with this dumb, desperate attention-seeking collection...
Foot. Shot.
The Barbara Streisand effect says "Hi!" 🤣
so weird when people who signed up to post their life online get annoyed when people criticize them for the things they post online.. like what did you think was gonna happen
She got rightfully criticized for doing something that's undeniably wrong and she just went 'ugh, people are so sensitive!'. Like girl, people can be mean, but you said the n-word...
totally.
strong "'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party" energy here lmao
@@melmccalley7115 LMAOOOO IM DEAD
on a separate note, your name is literally the town i'm from xD
There is such a big difference between being held accountable and being “cancelled”. Plouise was held accountable for saying the n word and not apologizing. While someone like James Charles was cancelled during the bye sister thing for false accusations.
EDIT: THIS AGED SO BAD HAHAHAHA
I agree with this so much! Cancelling is more of a band wagon mentality, and is also done largely based on rumours or accusations that later come out to be false. When it's done with rabid ferocity on things that may not even be true, it can do a lot of damage. Accountability isn't even remotely the same, and its frustrating for people who legitimately did bad things to whine about being cancelled, instead of owning up to mistakes and doing better.
Totally agree. If you genuinely did something harmful you are not being canceled, and Paige Louise really has to be the most self absorbed person of the day to release this collection and genuinely believe she’s the victim. Do Deere anyone?
this didn’t age well
@@matthewleo3985 USUSHSIS OMG IT DIDNT
pls this literally aged like milk
I really don't get the logic behind this. I literally had 0 idea she was ever called out for anything and had no knowledge of her racism before she brought out this collection. I'm sure many people were the same. Now she's just churning up her own controversy again and turning MORE people away from her brand. Sheer idiocy. I've never purchased anything from her brand before, but now I surely never will.
That arrogance is just wow. I had no idea either so originally I just didn’t buy from this brand because it was tacky lol
yeah i literally did not hear of this until now...
My son just yelled “Mom! Your Smoking girl has a new videooooo”
😂😂😂 he’s the real MVP!

Smoking Girl 😂
Omg 😂 iconic
Bahaha, I LOVE this XD
I always thought P. Louise was a makeup artist like pat mcgrath, not some annoying influencer. Anyway, this seems like a very Jeremiah Star type of collection
She thinks she is him the way she shows off her designer everything , cars etc and her lifestyle all over social media 😂😂
I thought P Louise WAS Pat McGrath lmao
@Eden Kennedy I am so sorry pat 😪
I thought mmmmitchel made p louise 😂
I always thought p. Louise was a rapper, the name sounds really familiar
It’s feels so empty at the end without the “ALONG WITH a link to register to vote.”
I know! 🥺 I gotta find something new to promote at the end
@@smokey_glow maybe a link to some accurate election results? Or a site that debunks Republican election myths?
i was just thinking that!🤣
@@smokey_glow There's always the runoff Senate races in Georgia.
It’s always curious to me when white people do something racist and then they’re like “well i was around black people and they didn’t say anything.” Like..... black people don’t call out every time something is racist? There are power dynamics at play and it’s not worth it to always say something. Sometimes racist actions/ words are also surprising or off putting or confusing, etc. and you don’t always know how to act in the moment. Furthermore, having a black boyfriend and saying you can’t be racist because of it? It has the same energy as if Thomas Jefferson said he can’t possibly be racist because Sally Hemings. Like, what is wrong with you?
There are power dynamics at play?
What are those dynamics and who has the power?
I don't like when people forward the idea that a white person around black people is automatically seen as the white person has the power in that dynamic. They don't. And that's not really helpful to suggest.
@@chrischris7003 societally speaking they do. Hate crimes are still a thing. In a situation with a white coworker and a black coworker, if a black co-worker reports the white person for saying something racist there is a high chance the employer will do nothing or that there could be retaliation from the coworker. If you were in that position, would you bother saying anything? Probably not. It's the same as sexual harrassment. Most women don't report for similar reasons. If you're at a big party and they introduce you to someone you've never met who casually says racist things, are you gonna stop the person in the moment and say "hey don't say that"? Usually people don't because they're afraid that their friends will judge them for being a "buzzkill" or "hurting someone's feelings" even when what that person said wasn't okay. And most of the time when you directly confront someone they plead ignorance to these issues, although it is pretty obvious that they know what they said was wrong. Again, at that point it feels useless to say anything and when you put up with that kind of behavior for most of your life it can wear down on your mental health and just reinforce negative cycles.
I agree. When I was younger I was scared to tell my white Hispanic friends that calling me the N-word was racist and highly offensive. They used the logic that they were Hispanic and in turn that made them black. Now I call out offensive and racist actions done to me because I realize that a friend should never treat me that way.
As a black person I can tell you first hand that I have had the n word used in my presence and I didn’t say anything because I didn’t feel comfortable. Someone saying something that insanely hurtful can be scary, intimidating, and legit confusing and brings up a lot of emotions. As a black person you know from day one to not shout at white people when they are racist because the deck is stacked against you. You always have to stay calm and rational and sometimes that also influences just not saying something. If you actually talk to black people you’ll know that we don’t always say something.
@@chrischris7003 there are power dynamics in EVERY relationship we engage in as humans. Power is fluid and it shifts but it usually resides in the money or authority in a room. And historically speaking, in America and western culture specifically, who normally holds that position?
gods i hate the "reclaiming the scandal" type things like the Jaclyn hill cancelled dress, Jeremiah starfish/Shane conspiracy/controversy palette, this bs collection... it just shows they haven't learned ANYTHING (esp when its serious subjects like racism) and is just belittling people who held them accountable ://////
Girl we need a distraction lmao. Talk about anything. Talk about horses, I’m tuning in
She did not just say that everyone want to be an influencer 😭 they absolutely do nottttt lmao not a single tiny part of my brain wants to be anything like an influencer. I’m going to work towards a job where I can actually help people and society thanks x
Being an influencer is my greatest anxiety. Jesus I would hate fame.
As someone with social anxiety I completely and whole heartedly agree. In order for me to sell my artwork I have to go under a false name, I couldn't imagine being an influencer, it would be hell on earth. The need to please every single person would make me sick.
@@Valkari22 as someone with social anxiety as well, I’d like my job to be social media. Weird but I like posting CZcams videos :) Instagram? Not so much. IG actually scares me. So much fake lives shown on that app!
Same I would never want to be even slightly famous or an influencer because no matter what you do there will be people on the internet that either troll you, point out every mistake you ever make, or like stalk you or try to find out your personal information like address or phone number. I’d much rather live a normal life and not be famous 😗
I don’t want to be in the public eye 👁😓
At this point whenever somebody makes a "canceled" joke or complains about "cancel culture" I automatically distrust them
Um I would do that for those that think cancel culture is _okay._ Being held accountable does not equal being cancelled. Literally every person outside of the internet which doesn't "yas queen" to makeup guru drama on twitter is *sick* of the harassment. Don't you dare even compare the two.
@@user-nv7uq3zj5e Did you take my comment personally. i wasn't talking about people like you. Please calm down and leave me alone
@@fuckersonofbitches I wasn't being angry... but ok. Also no why did you assume so?
Jaclyn Hill and her Halloween costume? Anyone? That automatically made me feel that way.
It's so gross. IT'S SO GROSS. The entitlement, the privilege, the unabashed complete lack of concern for being a decent person. Don't feed this nastiness y'all. I hope the launch is a flop just so she can see how unfunny this shit is and maybe when it affects her directly she can find some time for introspection. 💅

The packaging of her new release kind of reminds me of that time when Jaclyn Hill wore that "canceled"-dress on Halloween. I just think it is kind of tacky...
Robert Welsh does not like the PLouise base🙂 that's how I know PLouise.
Me too!! 😃 ❤️ Robert
Same 😭 he explains it is like just expensive concealer. I take his word for it.
I'm aware of that too 🤣
He says it’s a “GLORIFIED CONCEALER!” 🤣🤣🤣🤦♀️ That’s when I knew I didn’t need it 😂🤷♀️
Nikkietutorials loved it before, but she stopped supporting this brand
Hannah: We need to talk about--
Me: YES HANNAH WE DO GO OFF IM HERE FOR ITTT
How crazy to do a launch that reminds people of a scandal that most either forgot or didn't know about
never heard of her, never bought from the brand, and now i definitely won’t😌
hi kyla 🥺
Oh my Gawwwd, I’m white and I have children that are both mixed with black and Hispanic and NO MATTER WHAT you DON’T SAY THAT word! IDC who you date, are married to, or what color your children are! It’s not OK! It literally makes my blood boil to hear someone justify saying that word! You cannot justify it! It’s not ok! 🤦♀️🤦♀️
I'm the same. My boyfriend is black and I'm pregnant with my mixed baby and I could never say that word like ever
Jessica Glenn I’ve had exes (black men) try to get me to say it! I’m like “HELLLL NO!” And in my town there’s these young girls dating black men and saying the word freely! And they think it’s ok! I swear, I have to make a FB post about this every 4-6 months 🤦♀️🤦♀️
ya like i will never understand people who aren't black that justify saying the n-word in any way like it is so easy to not say a word that will hurt people's feelings...
sasya reddy yes girl! There are so many words in the world you could use. WHHHHY you gotta use THAT ONE?! 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
That's horrible. I don't know why these men would want their women saying that word anyway. Makes no sense to me. It's 2020 you would think we would not have to have these conversations anymore!
this is like a breath of fresh air after the circus of a week we've been having thanks to the election
The way she reacted to her initial controversy is honesty so similar to how jk rowling has been acting recently. People call them out for their words and actions and rather than listen, they just push back harder and decide to die on that hill rather than apologise.
"I will build my empire on the bricks people throw at me." Girl you are not Taylor Swift please take a seat.
THANK YOU I THOUGHT THE SAME DAMN THING
Lmaoooo revolutionary eyeshadow, said every other brand
Funny how they embrace social media until it bites them back
Btw your makeup looks great💕
It's wild that these influencers are trying to glorify being "canceled". Saying the N-word is nothing to celebrate, laugh at, or profit off of. Tana's canceled line is very much her brand but it's also her just glorifying being canceled while also never addressing anything wholeheartedly... like with TanaCon? How did that just go away? ugh love this video and the way you broke this down... I couldn't agree more, them making products about canceling them is trying to have their followers feel sorry for them for being "bullied" when they're just being told what they did was wrong. Looking forward to your next video, as always!!
I love people that use the " I've seen a black person once like 12 feet away, so I can say the n word" like no that's not how it works.
That quote is literally vomit inducing. This is entitled delusion at its finest.
I would love to see you do a video about Instagram brands. I know you’ve touched on this before, but I always find it so shocking when brands clap back because I’m not even a marking or business major but the idea of professionalism has always been hammered into me that I do not understand when brands are SO unprofessional.
The unprofessionalism is rampant and exhausting.
“Being an influencer is everyone’s dream job right now”..... girl no lol. Some of us actually love living in extreme anonymity 😂
I first heard of her years ago because she had a makeup academy here. A lot of makeup artists took this course and the style at this time was a big trend. I feel bad saying this but I can't stand the style - extremely heavily applied makeup, very strong contrasting contour everywhere etc. It always looked so bad, *especially* IRL.
I totally agree with you regarding this whole thing, I saw it last night and my eyes rolled to the back of my head. She seems ridiculous and ignorant. At least her "revolutionary collection" of nude eyeshadows gave me a good laugh.
I agree! Hate this style, it only looks good on certain types of people, like I have deep set eyes and cut creases looks so harsh on me and aging. Makeup artist should be able to make anyone beautiful not do heaviest makeup possible. Some beauty stores where they sell makeup in my town do those very heavy styles with thick liner and huge lashes and even young girls looks old in that ;)
@@milenka4782 makeup isn't just for beauty, it's an art too. It's just that heavy drag/stage makeup looks odd for a casual daily school look. 😅
@@nunpho I know, I love the art side of it as well :)
I'd say lots of the influencers would look so weird in normal daylight.
2 words. Beef lips.
the way people see cancel culture as “toxic” just cause they’re/their favs are being held accountable for being stupid makes me so mad.
“Revolutionary” 😂😂😂😂😂
As in Makeup Revolution already made this palette 100 times before
P.Louise literally lives round the corner from me, it’s insane. Especially when you see the borough that we live in, it’s not at all nice. There are some really nice houses, but they’re in a real poverty deprived area. It’s very weird to see the juxtaposition of it all
She’s just full of herself...to honestly believe that “everyone want to be an influencer” is just stupid. She deserves all the criticism and I hope this collection of hers is a massive flop. I definitely won’t be buying.
*Hannah* : Speaking of being held accountable: Come on 270..We’re ALMOST there! Thank you for this video. It’s a lovely distraction from all the tension ❤️❤️
we all need some positivity right now, so i just wanna say that's such a cute top!

Hi! Can you turn on captions for your videos? Unfortunately CZcams has recently changed it so you have to go into your CZcams studio and enable it for your videos.
^^
hi! i think she musta done it because i got them on now !💗 is it working for u
Influencers need to learn that being criticized for your actions is not hate. As someone who used to be incredibly sensitive to criticism (chronic anxiety what upppp) it's definitely a process to learn to accept criticism but it's a process that desperately needs to be done.
Some pro tips: "Okay." "I'm listening." "I understand." "I hear you." You don't even need to apologize!! Even if the first step to your process is just no longer being defensive, start there! I think influencers are the worst and also the most prominent, but all allies should practice just chillin for a minute before responding. Don't do a fake apology, don't play the victim, just chill for a second and learn the new process. You will be better off for it.
Keep up the amazing work Smokey Glow!!!
Thank you for a little break from the day. My husband had neck surgery and it’s just been a super stressful day between this and the election. ❤️
I hope your husband recovers well. Would you allow me to pray for you?
Sending you a whole pile of best wishes!
Speedy recovery!
Sending your husband and you lots of love and healing vibes ❤️
the uk: the u.s. is so embarrassing
also the uk:
Not defending anyone’s actions. She needed to be held accountable for her actions and it’s terrible that she couldn’t see how her actions affected others. . Coming from the UK though, I might be able to explain the newspaper packaging a bit better. The UK press are notorious for being ruthless and they will literally print anything for a story even if it’s not true, they aren’t really about holding people accountable, they are just vultures. A well known t.v celebrity recently committed suicide because of the way the UK press went in on her over things in her personal life so this collection could have some reference to such things.
Hey Hannah, just wanted to let you know I re-registered to vote 🗳 after watching one of your videos several months back. I’m so disorganized I’m not sure I would’ve remembered otherwise! You are one of the best examples of using your platform positively that I can think of! Keep up the great work!
I was literally taking my last few breaths because I was dying of boredom and then you posted this queen 😭 giving me very much lifesaver ✨
She wishes she was cancelled...she's not relevant enough to get discussed, so she's trying to make herself famous somehow...
I love that top, it looks adorable on you.
I’ve had a few really miserable days and watching you talk about things that are not rooted to real life altering situations helps me lots.
Smokey you always have a way of breaking things down to the level of truth and understanding! Please never quit these videos because WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS TRULY GOING ON!! Thank you because you always save me money!
Just wanna take a moment to say how much I love your content- been binging it all day on my day off and its taking my mind off things!
Thank you so much ive been watching the poll numbers like crazy. My anxiety at a high.
I'm glad someone brought it up cause I've been dying to talk about it for a hot minute.
Thank you for this video! I have to agree that being canceled and being held accountable for messing up is two very different things.
the only times I've heard about the P Louise brand is when you're dragging the packaging and Robert Welsh saying he doesn't like the eyeshadow base
I appreciate your opinions sooooo much
I've always thought this about holding people accountable but I could never say it as eloquently as you
The reason it's called "cancelled" is so that is the first thing that comes up when you Google "P Louise cancelled"
i love how authentic your content is
Agreed, I have said for a long time that going to someone's social networks to insult and threaten that person is toxic and is not the way to proceed when someone has done something so condemnable, it is not the solution, turning into bullies is never the solution. I have always despised the cowards who feel safe behind a screen to bully people online knowing they will never have to face the consequences for their actions.
However, if we, from now own, ignore that influencer, never talk about that person, never support the products that person releases (merch, makeup, clothes, perfumes, whatever), reducing significantly the income that person makes after doing something so awful, that is the proper way to hold someone accountable.
Great video!
The eyeshadow palette being brown/warm colors.... After she was """canceled""" for saying a racial slur that targets Black people....... 🤔
It’s a shame, she’s a beautiful girl. A lot of people get away with a lot of things because of pretty privilege (and then some). I’m glad things are coming to light bc I honestly didn’t know these things!
Are you saying that this situation is sad because she's beautiful? I'm just trying to understand this comment and I can't wrap my head around it
Lord, imagine being so triggered by being *rightfully* called out on social media that you create an entire cringey, woe-is-me collection around it and try to spin it like you’re somehow the victim. Truly tragic.
See, this is why I love your videos so much! I saw this collection on the twitter.com and thought initially that the packaging was kinda cute! I loved the design of it and all.. but I had ZEROOOO idea about what she did! Omg all of a sudden this whole collection is anything but cute
Can’t wait for her next release...The White Fragility Collection!

I’ve become such a big fan of you and your content. You’re so collected and wise beyond the subjects you focus on.
So many youtubers I want have recommended your channel and I’m so happy I listened 🥰

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! ❤️❤️ love you Hannah you’re a bad ass
Queen!!!! you are giving us so much recently and i’m loving it 💖💖💖
We need to start holding everyone around us accountable, not just influencers. When someone attacks your character instead of holding you accountable, their words are hollow and should not be taken to heart.
OMG SMOKEY WE LOVE YOU NEVER BEEN SO EARLY ❤️ ♥️ 💜
I think the only person who dealt with toxic canceled culture was Manny. Considering how many things people let other influencer slide for so long. I can even say even Laura Lee dealt with toxic canceled culture but look at them now!!!
YASSS IM HERE FOR THIS VIDEO. I love that Hannah just calls these people out.
Smokey is the most sensible, real CZcamsr honestly her balance of fun beautiful and informative is something we should all admire!!!
Im so obsessed with your videos at the moment 🥰
Oh thank god for lighthearted escapism 😝 in all seriousness, thank you Hannah 🥰 sending love from Seattle!
FINALLY SOMEONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS it’s always been so weird to me when influencers try to make their scandals a joke or so they things “what if I get in another scandal 😳” like what you did is not funny and shouldn’t be used as profit or a joke , especially since most influencers scandals are about them being racist
So much content coming from my Queen. I am loving it. 👑
We should really find a new name for "influencers"... that title is too generous and gives them too much credit
A nice distraction + a super relevant topic? Love that right now.
I am with you Hannah!! The way I see it in this life people can act anyway they want and do anything that they want provided they understand there is a consequence for every action they take. The issue is there are those who don’t want to accept that there is a consequence and if there will be any change in behavior it has to begin with taking accountability for ones actions. This is not an easy lesson to learn as taking accountability takes maturity and an acknowledgement that something has to change in ones own behavior. Just my two cents.
Thank u for this video!! I definitely needed a distraction and break from all the chaos!! It’s stressing me out so much!
not the way shes coming out with the a canceled palate and ive never even heard of her or the brand LMAO

Yes! I haven’t even started the vid yet and I am psyched. I hate profit off scandals or writing off genuine/serious criticism as “just haters.” It reminds me of people trying to profit off of inappropriate or insensitive material. Plus, a Hannah rant works well to keep me from living in my currently nauseously optimistic state about (*gestures to everything*)
I love hearing u talk about more niche topics or more international bits of drama, love the content!
