    Hey, just some quick tips for anyone looking at building with this case.
    ~You can fit a SSD under your sfx psu just barely
    ~If I could build again from scratch I wouldn't have used the asus strix z490, it really limits your AIO tube orientation depending on your AIO. The reason is because the IO plastic thing is a little chunky and blocks just enough to be obstructive
    ~Depending on your GPU I would definitely buy CableMod PCIE cables, I hated the way my FTW3 fit with the stock corsair cables and the extra flexible cables without the daisy chains on the made build so much cleaner
    ~Fan grills
    *One last tip if you wanted custom PCIE cables, 50cm is ideal but 60cm can still easily work if you tuck the extra under your 280mm AIO

    5800x and 3080FE on a SF750 PSU here, works well and temps are no different to my mATX build with the motherboard standoff mod, going to move the GPU out a bit further with the riser mod and 3d printed bracket.
    Going to print some sort of ducting for the FE's rear fan as well to help it draw in cooler air.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 3 lety

      Hah, well the amount of space that you have changes based on how you orient the PSU, so if you aren’t able to run behind the power supply, that is one way to take up slack in the AIO tubing. I prefer snaking it behind the PSU but I realize not all are building with SFX power supplies in this case.

    I must admit I do like the Asus board but I don't use usbc, and for me the aorus board offers more with better power delivery for my 5800x and also a back plate to absorb more heat from my 2nd nvme ssd. Just wondering but why not recommend the aorus board in the vid.

    Another great video keep up the great work! Have you also considered any of the stand off mods? I would love to see your input on it and any gains you might have with it. Also do you still recommended facing the PSU pointed towards the GPU side if the motherboard side has a tempered glass panel? Thanks!

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 3 lety +1

      You can absolutely run the glass panel with an SFX PSU fan facing out- just offset it inwards on the mounting holes. This does limit AIO tubing runs, so if that really really matters then turn the fan facing in and mount it on the outside. Then you have the flexibility to run the panel however you like.

  • @ricardovix
    @ricardovix Před 3 lety

    Why use WC fans as push instead of pull? Pull wouldn't be better for cable management (because there won't be any risk of cables touching the fan blades) and for cleaning (dust won't be trapped between the fan and the rad)?

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 3 lety +1

      For an AIO setup the performance choice is exhaust, that doesn’t mean you can’t go the other way for the reasons you described, of course. For cable management, fan grills are recommended if a cable might hit.

    • @ricardovix
      @ricardovix Před 3 lety

      @@MachinesMore but I thought about use the fans in push position keeping the exhaust configuration, just installing the fans between the case and the radiator, instead behind the radiator

    @masonwilliams7124 Před 2 lety

    Where’s you get the cables?

  • @Malinkadink
    @Malinkadink Před 3 lety

    I was looking at this case at one point but what turned me away was the vertical GPU mounting after learning that depending on the GPU heatsink you can get really bad thermals in that orientation as the card may use either a vapor chamber or large heat pipes which makes the capillary effect significantly less effective. As far as I know mostly affects AMD GPUs but it doesn't mean Nvidia ones are immune as it really does just depend on the cooler design. I think more testing needs to be done and people need to be made aware of it. Personally I will avoid cases that offer only vertical mounting as I don't want to risk a future GPU purchase that could have this problem in that orientation. Regular mounting or horizontal vertical mounts are okay.

    Should I get a BeSilent 240mm or 280mm for this meshilicious case. I imagine the 140mm fans will be quieter than the 120s?

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 2 lety

      I don’t recommend the BQ units for this case. It can work but the in-line pump gets placed into an inconvenient and unsightly location for the tubing run. Stock 280 if you need it, but 240 with upgraded or good fans is fine too for most CPUs.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 3 lety +2

      For thermal performance and cooling options, easily the NR200. For looks, IMO the Meshlicious just looks so good in terms of displaying the components. For ease of build, both have their pros and cons but I’d call it even, both are very user friendly.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 3 lety

      That’s going to be very difficult… other than with the “SFF” gpu a 3.5” drive is unsupported. I’d go external enclosure with your proposed setup, or look into another case like the NR200 which is more 3.5” friendly.

    what would chip would you @Machines & More recommend more? Beacaúse I'll be using my build for gaming (pretty much esport titles only valorant apex legends.etc.) but also would like to stream a bit and I'm currently on full hd 144hz monitor and in 1080p the ryzen chip was out performing the 11400f in titles like valorant csgo and other esport games and im not sure what to get now , beacause i could go intel and save like 100€ and with msi cashback 40€ more and spend that maybe on a gpu upgrade 3060ti -> 3070.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 3 lety

      Great question- the 5600X is faster on pretty much all fronts, of course you will more or less be GPU limited with your plans, but within those bounds you will still see the 5600X come out ahead. Personally I lean towards the 3060ti and 5600X combo just because I like being able to fine tune the chip and PBO2 (the 11400 at best you have power limits to adjust) and also having a better in socket upgrade path (5900x in the cheaper future is a lot more attractive than the 11900K, for example). Can you get either GPU easily? If not maybe make your decision based off remaining budget and which card you snag, if 3070 then 11400 (I recommend integrated graphics for this case since it uses the riser cable), if 3060ti the 5600X.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 3 lety

      Should be fine, however SFX-L is big in the dimension that’s troublesome in the case, which is the cable outs being closer to the rads, and that makes cabling tougher. In fact an ATX unit is only a little worse in that department. But yeah, if aren’t running a rad or OK with the cable management, go for it!

    I currently have a 10600k idk what motherboard to go for b560 doesn’t allow you to oc and z490 Dsi you think ocing in a meshlicious would be worth or should I just save my money and get a b560?

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey! OC’ing the 10600K will yield some meaningful gains (silicon dependent of course) but out of the two that I’ve tried you can get to 5.0ghz quite easily and either a 240 or 280 would work for that. How much you stand to gain depends on the title you play or workflow you do… personally I prefer Z490 for the Comet Lake unlocked chips, and the board I’d go for would be the MSI MEG Z490 ITX. For me that’s the most complete board out of the stack, with the exception that it does not have a temp probe header like the Asus has (which will only matter for custom loop builders). From time to time the board will go on sale, it’s a premium over the B560 but you do get more control over the chip. The Asus Z490 ITX is also good but there may be some AIO and cpu block compatibility concerns just due to the huge heatsinks on the board.
