  • Let's take a focused look at standoff mods in the SSUPD Meshlicious. I'll demonstrate how to do the standoff mod on both the motherboard side and the GPU side, and share some benchmarks from the riser cable standoff mod.

    I just did a new build in the case and your standoff mods helped me a lot! I did not want to purchase an SFX PSU because I had an AX 850 laying around. Lifting the motherboard higher gave me so much more space to hide cables behind it! I was able to still fit a Corsair H100X with no problems at all!

    I finished my Meshlicious build last week and could not close the panel with the Lian Li Galahad + the motherboard standoff mod. May switch my AIO next year since I already paid a decent amount for this one.
    Ultimately went with the GPU standoff and the extra space is very helpful in a tight space for the cables.

    M&M, thank you for the informative and great content! One general question; can shorter than stock stand offs be used to afford more CPU cooler options? Especially in the case of the NR200 where an extra mm or two could make a huge difference.

    • @MachinesMore
      @MachinesMore  Před 2 lety +1

      Somewhat- the one caveat is the IO cutout- if you are OK forgoing the IO shield and having things not line up perfectly, yeah it can work. Just make sure nothing on the PCB is shorting out.

    finally thx a lot , I ask I got video, one more question, what U think about slim radiator 240 or 280mm and slim noctua fans with all custom water cooling, more room for cables and air, but idk whats the slim radiator compares to standard, for this case slim radiator would be perfect choice but...BIG but....

    • @DaedalusSix
      @DaedalusSix Před 2 lety +1

      I'd been thinking about this for a long time before I switched from my Z63 to a custom loop and added a mod to the front panel to let me run 140mm fans in push/pull. You could do it with any normal AIO radiator (about 30mm) and the Noctua NF-A12x15 fans which have plenty of static pressure for AIO use. But, you'd be looking at probably something like 5-7C difference for around $100 extra cost, so not especially a good value. Fun maybe. The big difference I found with doing push/pull isn't the better temperatures in general, it's the same or better temperatures at reduced RPM, so it is significantly quieter. Mine is basically silent even under load at about 3' distance.

    amazing. If the one you linked is sold out can I can get any m3 set?

    • @DaedalusSix
      @DaedalusSix Před 2 lety

      For the motherboard standoff any M3 to M3 extensions will work if you are adding them to the existing standoffs. The stock standoffs are 6.5mm 6-32 male to M3 female, so if you replace them you will need to either use that some size or something as close to it as possible. But yes, any kit with those sizes should work, they are standardized.

  • @needsomewater
    @needsomewater Před 2 lety

    Man I love this case but I’m so disappointed by how my cable managing is , I’ll take a few hours to see what I can clean up. Does not help that my CPU cooler is the pure loop 280 which has an inline pump so it makes it a bit harder to fit. Ultimately I might refund and purchase a traditional asetek pump style cooler

  • @anghDescartes
    @anghDescartes Před 2 lety +1

    That is one way to do it, but I went with the GPU standoff approach, which seems to be working bit better for me. Additionally, I recommend to use 180 degree gpu power adapters to completely hide cables and connectors.

    Is there a significant difference between running a 280 or 240aio? Just ordered this case plan to run a 12600k maybe 12700k.

    • @DaedalusSix
      @DaedalusSix Před 2 lety +1

      The 280mm performs more closely to a 360mm than it does to a 240mm. It depends on the CPU and what you consider significant, but the hotter the chip the more likely you are to see improvement with the 280mm.

      @pekkanissinen1216 Před 2 lety +1

      All the pump models with hoses straight up from the cpu block fit poor to this case. Arctic liquid freezer 2 is one of them. I was unable to fit 280mm rad liquid freezer II to my meshlicious as the fan bodies hit the motherboard tray. I had it there temporarily with only one fan and had to ziptie the hoses to get the side panel on in 3 slot card mode. 4 slot gpu mode makes it probably impossible to fit the side panel. I bought the ek 280 rgb aio and it works well with the case but my motherboard makes me to use the block hoses down. I'm doing this mod for my case and modify the chipset heatsink assembly to get the hoses to the side.
