  • In this video we tell you how we performed the hair transplant and WHY we did what we did. This will help you select your hair transplant clinic.

    Video Index
    0:15 Taking you through the hair transplant process
    0:28 Before and After photos of results. Our standard case
    0:51 We don't cherry pick the best patients to show. We show an accurate representation of our results. Make sure the clinic you visit has already posted 100 before/after results online for you to see and judge for yourself. If they don't have 100 online photos to show I wouldn't even consider that hair transplant clinic.
    1:05 You'd be shocked how many hair transplant clinics only have a dozen or two examples of their results online.
    1:47 Patient is losing the "frame of his face"
    1:55 The plan
    2:10 The line we intend the build the new hairline along
    2:20 Why I won't lower the hairline
    2:35 The natural landmarks that dictate where new hairlines should be placed. It is not as arbitrary as people usually think
    3:03 The hair is going to puff out and look lower than the line
    3:20 Photo right at the end of the procedure. Looks like a buzz cut
    3:35 This is a great way to determine how good and advanced your doctor actually is
    4:15 Photo only 10 days after hair transplant. Buzz cut look. Fully healed
    4:55 How a hair restoration patient should look ten days after surgery. Patient washed his hair transplant properly.
    5:30 Just looks like a strange hair cut.
    5:45 Photo 9 month result after surgery.
    6:30 Patient is NOT on Propecia or any other hair loss medication.
    6:54 Photo Front view before photo of hair transplant. Devastating look.
    7:21 Photo Down view of front before hair restoration procedure
    7:41 Photo Front view of hair transplant right at end of procedure
    8:15 Photo Day 10 after surgery.
    8:45 Photo Day 10 front grown out at 9 months. Big smile.
    9:08 Photo even on close inspection hair transplant should look natural.
    10:22 Some optical illusions when looking at new hair transplants.
    10:42 Photo growth after 9 months.
    11:09 What if you lose hair behind the new hair transplant ?
    11:30 Gods eye view of before/after.
    11:45 Hair minaturization.The process. "Sick" hairs. Propecia works best in these hair loss stages.
    13:30 No backward machine clinic can match this result graft for graft.
    Summary:
    Today we show you the classic or average hair restoration patient we see at Feller and Bloxham in Great Neck, NY. This young man in his 20s had already lost the front third of his hair including his hairline.
    We transplanted 3,000 follicular units using FUT (Strip) using dense pack techniques. 8 technicians were used for this procedure, each using microscopes to produce the finest hair transplant grafts possible.
    Before and After photos of this hair transplant are shown before the procedure, during, after, and about 9 months later. This patient is NOT on Propecia or any other hair loss medication.
    There results are our average results-not our best, and now our poorest-just a result that accurately represents what our patients can expect given the kind of hair loss and donor area this patient has.

      Good memory ! Not easy to remember hair transplant patients because their looks change so radically after transplant. But you're right, he was a regular poster online. Once he got his hair back he moved on. And rightfully so. We thank him big time for being so open and sharing every stage of his hair transplant growth from us.

    That’s it, I’m going to these guys. Their hairline just seem significantly better to me than the 2 main hair transplant clinics in Canada (my country).
    Plus they don’t seem to push finasteride hard like other places.

      @Dave Smith certainly for fut I mean rahal and hasson and Wong are also good but for a fut if you do your research there is a couple of decent clinics that are reasonably priced in the Toronto area

    I am impressed with many of your results. This being one of them.
    In regards to your technique, I’m curious what you think of Katona’s Restore results (FUE).
    I have renewed interest in it and was impressed with the majority of Katona’s results.
    I don’t like the idea of cutting a whole section of scalp out. But I was eventually sold and lost interest in FUE when I watched your opinion on FUT vs FUE.

    • @fellerandbloxham
      @fellerandbloxham  Před 6 lety

      Almost all patients who were most interested in FUE prior to their consultation visit leave wanting FUT. And rightly so. FUE simply does not grow as well or reliably as FUT and FUE causes far more damage to the skin, the grafts,lowers the amount of hair available for future procedures, and almost every time REQUIRES the entire back of the head to be shaved. Such is not the case for FUT which is still the GOLD STANDARD of hair transplantation despite the ridiculous and often illegal internet hype surrounding FUE. You are smart to reject FUE and go for FUT.

    Great result. I have a question. I am 35 and have some temporal recession. I reckon I am a NW2 right now. I went to move my hairline back to NW1 Do you guys accept NW2 patients? Also, do you do miniaturization mapping through microscope during consultation to see if there is further miniaturization and getting on meds is warranted?

    • @fellerandbloxham
      @fellerandbloxham  Před 7 lety

      Thank you for joining us Curious. Yes, we do accept NW2 patients but of course would like to see some photos first. Please go to www.fellermedical.com and click on the contact/consultation button and send us some photos and some info. We'll know in two seconds if it's worth doing something yet or best to hold back a bit longer.
      I do not buy into minaturization mapping, that's just a sales gimmick. If you see recession in the hairline, as you do, I don't need any magnification to know miniaturization is doing it's dirty little work. Assume it is acting and act accordingly. It is here that Propecia comes into it's own. Perhaps even minoxidil, but I have a low opinion of this drug.

    I just had a strip surgery transplant 10 days ago and will likely need another one in 10-12 months to get the coverage I want. I'm on board with strip surgery being the way to go, but I was wondering about having multiple strip surgeries and their potential to have scar stretching. Isn't there an increased risk of scar stretch with multiple strip surgeries? Thanks.

    • @fellerandbloxham
      @fellerandbloxham  Před 6 lety

      Scar stretch is normal. The degree of stretch will largely depend on the quality of the skin. That said, the skill and experience of the surgeon will play a major role as well.

      Prior patients visit the office frequently. Just call the office and tell use when you are available and we'll have you visit when we have one or more patients visit for a follow up. If nothing else you'll find it educational and interesting.

      Feller and Bloxham Hair Transplants what do you guys think of the way the does not use propecia? Won't his hair just get thinner and need another transplant later?

  • @jTacticsBeats
    @jTacticsBeats Před 7 lety

    say you need 2500 GUs and not 5000 GUs, is the strip size you guys take the same everytime? Or do you just strip as much as you need, leaving a smaller scar?

    • @fellerandbloxham
      @fellerandbloxham  Před 7 lety

      Thank you for the question. We would most likely keep the length of the strip about the same but only take half the width.
