Thanks for the analysis! I always learn a thing or two. Will definitely get some oral minox to try :)
Your hair looks much better!
Thanks for giving us something to react to! Lol. Happy for your hair growth man!
1. I think he went way too dense and forward for a young guy. (He could have retained some modest recessions, a natural look.)
2. I'm surprised the Doctor, who knows he went heavy, is now proposing 400-500 more grafts, especially since he's not taking Finasteride. Add 100 single grafts and forget it.
3. He could be quite thin / bald at 45, with this thick 1" band up front.
4. He really should have waited another 5 years, and gotten on medical treatment. (This reminds of a Clip I saw where the dude has had 9-10 HT, and he's late 40s with no donor supply left.)
@@MarkJones-si2bb I couldn't believe it when he said he wasn't taking finasteride. You are just pissing in the wind if you aren't at least taking a dht blocker for androgenic alopecia and especially after a hair transplant why risk it.
Hot damn there's Brett!
This is an excellent and comprehensive overview of an articulate and informative case study patient (Brett). Thanks to Gary and to Brett. Almost like you were talking together even though Gary was reacting to Brett's video. So well done.
Its crazy how this hair transplant industry is so evil. The best procedure is currently patented in netherlands and it regenerates at least (40%) of the hair on the back of your head so you have more donor for future transplants, also since the needles smaller there are ZERO scars even if you shave it off. But unfortunately this industry is so big and theres so much money at stake, most doctors are not willing to admit it because it will hurt their business. Ive researched this technique for almost 11 years...before I had it done lol...well also bc NW 2.5 isnt too bad. There was even a burned patient back then who all doctors refused to do a hair transplant bc there was so little donor yet this guy had like 3-4 transplants each with 1500 grafts and has a decent head of hair now.
Its not supposed to transform a NW8 to NW1 ...but its way better than regular FUE. I had it myself and shaving the back...literally NO sign of holes or anything...went frmo NW 2.5 to NW1.
Just stopped by to say you’re so cool Doc! Extremely informative and analytical, great guy!

another densely-packed hairline transformation. Lovely results, to be sure. But otherwise, he has full coverage. I understand everyone has different experiences and anxieties about one's own appearance, but I--and I think many others that are diffuse thinners--would like to see some results, too. I appreciate your channel, though, Doc! Keep it up
Dr Gary I love your videos! I could listen to you all day. I am 1 year into my hair transplant. Norwood 6 and had 6000 graphs with amazing results. I'm using minoxidil and taking finasteride without any side effects. I also have PRF treatment every 3 or 4 months 🙂
I didn’t know it was possible to get a hair transplant at NW6, always thought you had to be like NW4 or under, interesting
how much was the cost man?? if you don’t mind em asking
Finasteride gave me side effects. Depression low t all of it.
I been taking Finasteride for years. I didn't get any "gains" really, but at least it stopped my hairline from receding. Also, no side effects really. I lost quite a bit of hair, and had bald spots in my beard for a bit, but that's because of Kratom. Stay away from that drug if you like your hair.
We need to talk about how great Gary's eyebrows and mustache looks on him!!! keep it up!!
Dr Gary you are awesome man keep it up.
Good new look for the people. Thank you for this informations. It's more valuable for us😍
Thank you for the video Dr. yeah, so I had my first hair transplant at the same clinic in Istanbul in Sep 2021 and I am really satisfied with the results I also had my second hair transplant in my crown area in Nov last year at another well know clinic in Istanbul.
You are so relaxing to hear. It’s like someone is singing a lullaby to me

Great video as always
Hi Dr. Gary! Just started following your channel recently. I love the in depth walk through videos you are putting out. I am doing some research on hair transplants (as I am considering one in the future) and came across something referred to as Sapphire FUE. Which apparently is where they use blades made from gemstones instead of regular steel blades. They claim it reduces the risk of complications such as trauma and scalp tissue damage, that tissue recovery will be quicker and that you may achieve a higher density than with steel blades. Is this something you have any experience with or can weigh in on?
Great commentary. I've watched plenty of your reaction videos and I feel the hairline looks great but a bit low. He's still very young and hair looked great even before. When I was in my early 40's I started receding but kept a dense forelock; I went to several surgeons here in LA but I was told that I wasn't a candidate for the surgery. Now I'm 53 now and my hair slowly kept receding on the sides and now I have a weak forelock. I've been researching surgeons here in LA but no luck. Only if Dr Linkov had a clinic here in LA area...I would get my surgery with him. Unfortunately, I can't fly out anywhere.
Your so respectful and lovley
Impressive ,wow he should be happy very well done.
You're so smart Dr Gary😊
Really loving the video😎👍🏼
Thank you for your analysis
Doctor 🖐️ could you please make a video of YOUR ACTUAL PATIENTS using dutasteride for one or two years. Thanks, keep it up 🤘😇
Great work Dr Gary, when would you say that product can be used in the hair, hairspray, wax etc?
Thank you for showing us the vedio for hair transplant
Dr. Gary, could you please make a video on effectiveness of using ketconazole shampoo in battling hair loss? I use minoxidil and finasteride and I think about adding ketoconazole to the mix.
thanks for the video great analysis.
Hi Dr, great vid as always! you mention your patients now take oral minoxidil 1x a day. Do you think 1x a day is better at growing hair as opposed to splitting the dose into 2x daily?

Great video. Dr G, what is the main difference between dutasteride and finasteride ? I’m currently on .5mg of dut and wonder if this is the right choice for me
Hi Dr. Linkov,
Great Videos !
How much do you charge for 2400 follicles? And do you have any good before and after pictures?
Excellent video and analysis, thank you so much! At 8:45 you discuss a method for a less obvious transition from single grafts to heavier hairs. May I ask what you mean when you say @8:55 "place the heavier hairs not right at the front but starting closer to the front"? If for example the first 2 rows are single grafts, what should the subsequent rows be in most cases?
I started Dutasteride in 2002, so 21 years on it. Had 3 pauses around 2009-11. Added 2.5mg oral minoxidil 3 years ago
I switched from Finasteride to Dutasteride. After 2 months I noticed greater hair velllus hair growth. The vellus hairs have lenghtened considerably. Very pleased so far. Microneedling has helped with thickness combined with Foam Minoxidil.
where you buy duta??
@@itsoverlord Prescription from my doctor, 05 mg. You do not want to just "go buy" some. This stuff messes with your hormone levels. Ergo, go to your doctor.
I swapped from fin to dut and got bad shed, and possibly some sides. Didn’t really notice any gains. I might try it again and run it for 6 months or even run it on top of my fin
@@wescoast2320 Wow That must have been so disappointing! I did not find that at all. Was this done under a doctor's care?
Evryday dut?
Such a great video.
Yes my dic did some research and found that the .5 was the one for me. Btw the pyrilutamide is working well as well. I have noticed a marked increase in density and hair diameter.
Great analysis as always, Gary. I started finasteride 2.5 years ago at 43 and I'm thankful I did. Should I consider oral minox? I use foam for the day and dropper, more oily at night.
For what it's worth I switched to Oral Minoxidil 3 months ago. 2.5mg every day and I feel so free not having to apply foam/dropper all the time.
@@Jules07any sides ?
Great information thanks
Hi Gary. Thanks for all the videos. How long would you recommend to be on medical therapy prior to getting a hair transplant?
1 year
Ive just had a hair transplant and been told to wait a month to start Finasteride, is this correct? Also should i monoxadil? Also when should i start regaine after an op?
I'm at the 7 month mark. 5,000 grafts FUE with most going at front of scalp. Overall pretty good, have a lot more hair but I'm hoping for more thickness in the front and all over my head. In high contrast lighting I can still see my scalp when I look in the mirror or bend down and look at my scalp. I have a good attitude about it no matter the final outcome because I'm confident that it will be an improvement. Just turned 50 and not trying to be 30 again. ---- I would consider slightly more grafts at the year plus mark to increase density depending on the cost. But I'm hopeful the density will increase naturally on its own over the next 5 to 6 months!
Witness a remarkable transformation: someone I personally know has naturally regrown their hair to its former density in just 8 months. With years of diligent research, experimentation, and observation, they have developed a method that can help you restore your own hair from the comfort of your home. Check out their compelling videos and valuable information, and don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like a recommendation from me. It won't cost you a dime.
Another difference between oral and topical finasteride and minoxidil is that oral administration has to be metabolized by your liver to get to your bloodstream. If you don't want to stress your liver for the rest of your life, I'd lean towards topicals.
Hi Dr Linkov
I’m not sure if you’ve already released a video or some form of media on this yet but I see Brett wore a bucket hat to protect his head from after the 1st month of his procedure and also heard you mention that from about 2 - 3 weeks one may wear hats as they normally would.
In previous videos I recall you mentioning that straight after the procedure as well as in the early days of one requires or choose to wear a hat that it must be lose fitting so as to not disturb the newly transplanted hairs. The hat I have seen is for this is what looks like surgical caps.
My question is: are there hats, other than the surgical caps, that you recommend or believe are safe for one to wear in the early stages of recovery as a way for people to feel confident and more comfortable walking out and about without showing their head?
You can wear a hat after 14 days after hair transplant just be sure there is not too much pressure on the newly Implanted grafts. Even a cap is allowed just make sure the strip doesn't sit on the new grafts recipient area.
I just love your bald head. You look insanely attractive and I can’t even imagine you with hair even though my imagination’s wild. You stand out among others and look good from even those who have hair so…yeah since we’re on the hair transplant topic I suddenly realised this ♥️
Im glad someone said this, in the video I had no interest in that guys hair, I was too busy listening and admiring how educated & handsome this man was.

idk you guys. the dude looks amazing without hair
I haven’t watched his videos for a while. How did he get eyebrows back?
I have a mammoth forehead (fivehead) and getting hair transplant later this year. It's gotten to the point it's affecting my self-confident and cannot leave my house without some sort of cap or hat or headband.
Thank goodness for kitteh and abandoned pet rescue and helping injured wildlife. And for my ability to comfort lonely sick and elderly people and for things like seeing the impact covering graffiti has in nyc neighborhoods and all the various things I have found that are not about me me me and that give me a sense of meaning and value. I am so lucky that the flaws of my appearance don’t hurt me. And that the appearance of others means zero to me in my connection to or value of or reaction to them. I wonder if plastic surgeons get tired of it. I can see how fulfilling it would be to help people with disfigurement. But the vanity would get me down I think
I've been on Propecia for 12 years never had one problem when they talk about the sexual side effects it's only 2% and then it goes down to 1% after 3 months chances are you're going to be fine and you'll have a full head of hair
I almost did a spit take when Dr. Gary said "I remember this". Dude is low key funny.

Was wondering about your opinion on an interesting n unusual combination of DHI pen, but with the channel opening. The advantage is that a doctor (not technician) do the opening the channels (Dr Serkan does nothing, anyone can do the drawing). It's a clever idea bc the clinic can be,, cheaper,, compared to the ones in which a doctor does most of it, but still it's as if a doctor did everything as putting the hair in once the opening was done by the DHI pen is not that difficult for experienced technicians. They do it in Thailand n the results looks stunning. In my opinion they do the most natural hairline I've ever seen, bc micro macro irregularities are done so perfectly. I can DM the clinic, I was told:
,, The DHI is modified so that we can work faster. The implanter pen we use is blunt tip. So that we can use nurses to do the job on 2 sides at the same time. The nurse will only have to put the hair back into the holes that the doctor made. The direction, angle and density will be just like how doctor designed during the premade incision step. We will still get other benefits from the implanter pens like the protection of the hair follicles etc.,
I’m taking finasteride with no side effects and thinking to take oral minoxidil, in your experience and knowledge, is it possible to have a negative reaction between this two components?
Many thanks
what do you recommend doctor? i have low test, but also losing my hairline at 28 it’s not horrible but i noticed it, i heard that hair loss drugs will further lower your testosterone, should i wait for after having kids or?
A friend of mine had breast cancer & ended up losing her hair due to treatment. When her hair grew back it was curly whereas it wasn't before. I believe that it changed over time at least somewhat.
I took chemotherapy too and my hair became very curly and dry 2 months ago I shave my head again using 5mm guard now I have straight hair they are still dry but they have improved a lot and I am sure it will get back to normal
Wow, thats a remarkable transformation.
Thank you for all your informative videos. I notice my hair thinned due to 125mg daily Ibrance, so I doubt I'll ever be a good candidate for hair implants, but I wonder if something like Rogaine could help me?? I don't wanna get a weave because I hear those pull on the follicles and can even hurt. I can get it to look full in front for a few moments, but then it goes flat. I miss the volume I had. Is there a way to get it back?
So I am on medical therapy and I love how it’s improved my hair quite nicely. I had been considering it for a couple of years and then my hair loss sped up dramatically, so I got on it and it made the hair come back. I love it! Anyway, I’ve been on oral finasteride and topical minoxidil for just over a year and I’m switching over to oral minoxidil. The one thing I’m not clear on is what the dosage should be for the oral minoxidil. Is it just 1 mg same as the finasteride? My doctor wasn’t terribly clear about that
2,5 or 5mg
so basically after a hair transplant you have to be on finasteride for the rest of your life?

Hey Doc! Really enjoy your videos. Do you know of a good topical finasteride? Or if you can't mention a brand, could you mention what to look for? Thanks
im balding since im in college and i really really looked forward to get a hairtransplant until i read that if you get a hairtransplant you have to, no like you are almost force to take finasteride if you dont want to loose you hair again.
like do i really have to take finasteride wouldnt minoxidil be enough? the side effects of fin really cooled off my hopes of getting a hairtransplant or was it just gibberish ? really hope you answer to my questions ✌
he looks great with the new hair!
I had a bump removed on my forehead and I think the clown cut a little deep and damaged the supraorbital nerve and that actually made a small region of hair above it come out curly for some months. Maybe there is some complex communication going on. I had 3 fairly large bumps (from golf cap sweat bacteria I believe) removed and it fairly quickly became impossible to see that it was ever cut. Aside from the nerve damage it was quite good.
Biggest issue with oral Minoxidil is hair growth all over the body , and I have heard it even interfere with the Heart functioning . Please clarify .
Dr. Gary 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi, appreciate your show. Is natural hair growth paterm considered when placeing grafts? I have a cawlick right (former) hairline, that determined where or if imy hair would part.
Hello Dr.gary I'm from India...and my hairline is also similar to baretts so where can I get the best transplant done? Pls suggest me .
Dr.Gary if you start “ridging” days after the transplant does that matter for the final result?
To lessen the effects of post finasteride syndrome, you need to reduce dosage amounts gradually. This allows for the body's natural hormonal balance to slowly adjust to proper levels. I found that reducing from 1mg to .5 mg per day allowed me to keep the side affects down to a minimum, and reduce dht to levels which are still beneficial to hair growth.
PFS is a myth
Excellent observation. But you are going the wrong way here. Instead of gradually decreasing the dose of finasteride and risk rebound thinning and withdrawl hair loss, it's better to start finasteride at a a very low dose, may be 2 mg/ week. Studies have found finasteride to be effective even in microdosing, so why to go for the full dose in the beginning. Start with low dose, see the results and if at all in future you develop tolerance or resistance to that lower dose, you can safely increase the dose a little bit. Bro, always remember whatever hair you grow with the help of finasteride is like taking a loan, now it's upto you to decide how much loan you wanna take, and how much interest in the form of side effects you want to pay.
@@MrrrrMime sadly it's not a myth. Many studies have proven it. True it's incidence is very low, but I have myself come across many patients who are facing this.
@@sakshiagrawal501 which studies probe lowering DHT causes depression?
@@MrrrrMime please search online about psychiatric side effects with finasteride. You will come across tons of such studies. Of course the basic pathology behind this association is not yet completely established, and more studies needs to be done. But yes, it's better not to start finasteride in patients already facing any such issue.
I thought minoxidil oral was black box label and had terrible health effects on the heart,am I wrong? would love to here @Dr.Linkov's opinion on this
How long do you have to take medication for after a hair transplant? @Dr. Gary Linkov
Hey Dr. Gary can you talk about long hair FUE, I've heard about it but I'm just wondering if you have any info about it and is it successful?
hi doc, how soon after hair transplant is it safe to use ketoconazole (nizarol) shampoo?
If you had to choose between serkan aygin or vera clinic wich one would you go for?
hi, i have a question, that could possibly be a video idea. i am curious. why can't hair be grafted from the pubic hair area or other parts of the body? why does the hair have to be grafted only from the back of the head?
Is there any legitimacy to Dutasteride being better at regrowing hair than Finasteride? I've been on oral Minoxidil and Finasteride for 18 months, they've really slowed down my diffuse thinning/chronic telogen effluvium but I'd love to see more regrowth before considering a transplant if possible.
Dut is 100x more potent than Fin I've read so side effects are also multiplied, you of course take a lower dosage though
Dutasteride blocks 93% DHT. Which means your DHT lvls are more than 14 times lower than a normal male. It is asking for problems

I ride motorbikes professionally, enduro bikes. Tours and trainings and races so it’s long days on the bike which means a lot of hours wearing helmets.
How can I minimise the helmet to hair damage?
I’ve also just recently had a transplant, just a couple of days ago in fact so I’m planning on taking good care the years to come but I’m wondering if there is a solution to this helmet issue….
Thank you

Dr, I have a question, I have gray hair will a transplant will work for me? I was told not by a doctor if is gray it will fall. Dr. Thanks for the video.
Love the videos Dr. Can you talk about why under 40 you recommend finasteride? Is it worth taking over 40? I've been taking it for 25years, I had the front restored similar to Brett, and still have a full head of hair because of the finasteride. Never had any side effects. Now that I'm 52 with I assume lower testosterone/DHT; do I still need to take it everyday? Can I drop down to 3-5 times per week and is there an age that I don't really need to take anymore? Thanks!

hey people, I did a hair transplant on October. FUE of 2,000 to the front of my head and today 7 months later I feel really really modest results... The doctor told me that a second transplant would be needed anyway to cover the back as well but I feel like the difference is no negligible that I might just give up on it... What are the common reasons for a "not really noticeable results" from a hair transplant? And to clarify I took a world renown surgeon in the USA for tons of money so I assume its not the surgeons fault.
Hi there, we’re you alluding to the possibility that people who are above the age of 40 may no longer need to take finasteride. Would that mean minoxidil would be the only medical treatment needed to maintain hair growth?

Hello Dr Linkov I’m a 21 year old African.I’ve had receding hairline for as long as I can remember.I’ve also been using topical minoxidle for 3 to 2 years now. I want to know how long should I continue with the minoxidle to have a normal hairline. And is there any other therapy apart from a transplant( which I can’t afford atm) that will help me have a normal hairline?
minoxidil results take 6-12 months so its chances of u regrowing ur hairline are pretty much little, still u should get on finasteride to stop any future balding since minoxidil doesnt do anything to stop it, and to make minoxidil even more potent, look into micro-needling. 1.5 milimiter once a weak dont apply minoxidil that day do it the day after. The best chance apart from a hair transplant, is minoxidil+ micro-needling. Still u should absolutely use finasteride since is the best thing to save and regrow hair.
