I guess I’m in the minority, but I own the IWC Pilot’s Chrono Petronas IW3881-08 that I bought in Switzerland from an AD some years ago. I loved the way it looked but didn’t like how it wore on my wrist-it just looked small. That's why I'm considering selling it. I'll do some research to find out its worth now.

Never considered flipping them, even at double RRP. That’s not why I bought them.

And that's a Sad Truth Andrew didn't mention. GS, at 50% below RRP is about right!
Well most of this is because Grand Seiko inventory (new and used) are heavily traded in Japanese yen, which is now at a 40 year low against the US Dollar. So the question is... will the Japanese yen fall even more? That will automatically discount the GS further.
@@peekay4problem is import taxes and duties then make the discount disappear again. At least in most European countries
@@thelifeofpablo6626 Yes that's true, in Europe if importing a watch from Japan as an individual then the savings aren't much. But, with the weak yen -- a ton of "tourists" buy watches for cheap in Japan tax-free, fly back to Europe without declaring them to customs and then flip these watches to grey market dealers. So the overall market still depreciates.

I was about to buy the rose gold yacht master Rolex watch, but my friend just got robbed in San Francisco outside of the restaurant, because he was wearing a Rolex watch. I immediately thought buying a Rolex is like asking for troubles 😢

I've got a 222 and the gold Overseas with blue dial, and i really couldn't care less about the resale price is. I've even got another VC on order. Basically if the resale price of a watch bothers you, you can't afford it,

@@killsbugsfastbelcanto Agree. My point is that purchasing something utterly useless like a mechanical watch shouldn't come at a cost that even slightly concerns one. I only buy watches - I don't sell - so when I purchase a $75K watch I've already mentally written off that amount. When I'm gone my wife may be more interested in the resale value, but I won't be worrying about it... 😏

Except the cost of everything else. Only seems to be watches dropping in price. Jewelery and cars ain't taking hits like watches.
@@yeraulddah3982I believe coz it's due to watches being speculated as "investment".... My opinion is that they should not be treated as investment to make money but more of an investment into the person's experience and joy of wearing them.

Great content Andrew, loving the new direction since you began flying solo. Watchfinder was good too but it was a channel I used more for education. Where AMW is a place I’m entertained regardless of watch content.

I can’t have a Chronograph with only 30 min sub register, every event I usually time including my commuting is more than 45 min, the only thing under 30 are cooked to perfection 12 min ribeye steaks 😂

Great Video, loved it. BUT I did have a laugh when you reviewed the VC watches - as I own both of them. When I purchased the O/S it wasn't a hype/popular piece. I brought the O/S from the local AD several yrs ago, it was in the display window, and straight away I said that is a great watch - went back a week later and brought it. Got the 222 late in 2022, and it's also a great watch. I would prefer the hype went away- as hopefully it is. Both great watches and plan to keep em for ever. Funny how one can end with hype pieces without trying .

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MaMaCoo 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
