Masashi Kudo's style is great, for a Battle Shonen anime (Bleach, Hayate no Gotoku, Tower of God, etc)... I don't know if he can do Action Thriller...

@@Samesosass Dark Fate and Skynet are mutually exclusive. Preventing Skynet for good at the end of T2 even gave rise to LEGION, its replacement, further down the line in that timeline.

I really like the premise about a Japanese Skynet competitor, I think it makes a lot of sense especially right now when companies like OpenAI, Google, and Meta are jumping at each other throats to create the most advanced AI. I'm sure the real Skynet will enjoy the show after it takes over the world in the next ten years.

I stopped watching anime after FMA as I "grew up". I used to watch it a lot when I was younger. I love Evangelion, GITS, and Pacific Rim.

The original Terminator had horror elements to it. The franchise toned down the horror elements starting with T2. Very heavy action/sci-fi to appeal to a wider audience. It's a double-edged sword though. This is a new, unexpected approach. Hopefully being anime, budget can go towards the writing.

There is a limited anime series known as Devil May Cry, the animated series released back in 2007. There's also another adaptation in the works with a teaser shown, but it's done by Powerhouse Animation, who are known for Castlevania & its dreadful sequel, Nocturne, Skull Island, Blood Of Zesus, Seis Manos, and the controversial Masters Of The Universe Revelation. So the results are hit-or-miss with that one. Just as long as they don't do anything cringey, such as killing off in the beginning of the series or downgrading Dante to a secondary character and raceswapping & flanderizing Thresh into a hateful protagonist who is obsessed with feminist propaganda and politics.

The studio involved in that show will be Studio Mir, the studio that animated Legend of Korra, X-Men 97, Boondocks, The Witcher: Nightmare of the wolf. Powerhouse is currently busy working on the Tomb Raider animated series

This is technically like Afro Samurai where its anime made for westerners. From what i understand like Afro this wont even have a Japanese dub or be marketed to their country, The writer/executive producer is also not Japanese. Id still consider both anime, but yea they are basically anime studio/director hired to make something for the west.

@@RumbleFilthskin I hear you brother, and I don't understand that sentiment, I think the technique was better despite the limitations of technology at the time, a lot of modern anime just seems kind of generic and cookie cutter in comparison. Maybe it's because back then, The artist were actually putting effort into their own work due to putting their heart and soul into producing them.

Dark fate was pretty good. Too many spoiler trailers in the franchise. The sarah connor chonicles was my favorite terminator installment. Such a shame it never got to finish its story. I keep hoping one of the these days they will back in some form.

Kudos for making a Terminator Series. I was deeply disappointed when the Sara Connor Chronicles was Terminated. Personally I wanted a series set in the future, during the war between the Resistance and the Machines. That would have been something new, something fresh, something I couldn't wait to see. When I learned Terminator Zero would be set in the PAST AGAIN. I was like, maybe I'll watch the Blu Ray when it comes out but I'm not getting a subscription to see the Past again. I want the FUTURE!

As an old fart, I saw Judgment Day in a theater back in '91. Totally crowded, we couldn't proceed what we were looking, just epic. 33 years later I can say SALVATION matured pretty well while DARK FATE was a total woke effort. I keep perhaps the most important quote John Connor had said in RISE OF THE MACHINES: "I should feel safe, but I don't, so I live off the grid - no phone, no address, no one and nothing can find me."...

For me the franchise ended after Terminator 2 : Judgment Day. But I still gave all these sequels, prequels, reboots etc... a chance they really didn't deserve, allthough "The Sarah Connor Chonicles" were a pleasant surprise. So it seems I'm still gonna watch at least the first episode of Terminator Zero, with the slim hope it won't be another huge disappointment.

This looks really good. I think series like Terminator could really benefit from taking advantage of animation as a storytelling medium. It doesn't have to be live action to be enjoyable or serious in tone. And sometimes animation lends itself better the stories they want to tell anyways. There are a ton of advantages to it too. I really think they should've done this sooner.
