One of the other parts that was not mentioned about this case was how the shooter held the purse/bag before firing the second shot. The shooter held the bag under their arm with the strap over their shoulder. this is typically how a women would hold their purse. This also lead them to believe it wasn't a male but a women who shot the victim.
I love when cases have details like that! Crazy that such a small thing can change the whole approach to an investigation 🔎

I watched this on the ID channel, about 4years ago the show was about a cop who lived in Colorado Springs and he worked this case. His name was Joe Kenda, I've always thought that the husband had so much more to do with it too.💖

I was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1990. My dad was in the Air Force and literally a month after I was born they moved to Atlanta Georgia. So this is interesting. Kind of hits closer to home, at the same time, kind of not but I do feel a little bit different about the hearing this story than all the other ones.

The model P, or "Peacemaker", was standard issue in the US Army for a time. Wyatt Earp also famously carried one during his time as a law man in Dodge City! The nickname is partly attributed to the firing power of the weapon, as one shot from the Model P would be enough to stop the fighting and make peace. Baby, I live in Florida. There are quite a few Walmart supercenter stores that you can purchase a firearm at. I was born in Upstate NY and that was not a thing, but yes...a purchase of a firearm is obtainable in FL.

Speaking of Colorado Springs, you gotta watch Homicide Hunter: Joe Kenda. He was a detective in Colorado springs from sheesh the late 80s until the early 2010s. You would love the stories he tells. My grandma was friends with Diane in high school. She was shocked when she heard this case.
Sounds as if Diane was love bombed by a narcissist and paid for it with her life, and she took another person's life, so horrible! She died only a few months after parole, and that may have been what influenced her parole, that she had a short prognosis. I'm not saying she did not deserve to be in prison, just saying that narcissists can influence gullible people

I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2020. Once it started attacking my heart, causing heart failure, I went from managing a dispensary to assisted showers/drivers license revoked/fighting for disability within 6 months.
