Look, my theory is, Chris was in no way in love with Erin, he just liked to have a lover. Erin told Chris she was pregnant and he couldn't risk his marriage so he killed her. I mean, it seemed that Erin really was into Chris so maybe she thought he really loved her and decided to tell him that baby was his. IDK.

@@oAgL214she was absolutely expecting the same reaction from Chris as she got from John when she told him she was pregnant which was they stopped arguing about money and focused on the new baby but unfortunately she miscarries the first one and apparently wasn't even pregnant with the second wandering if she ever was with the first. Didn't deserve to die but was playing dangerous games in my opinion.
I saw an interview with John where he said he would have raised the baby if Erin was pregnant even if it wasn’t his. That right there tells you what kind of a man he is, a great one!

Him accusing her of child abuse reminds me of Chris Watts accusing his wife Shanann of child abuse and saying that's why he killed her. He just snapped. It's so gross when killers just won't take responsibility and admit their guilt fully. Adds insult to injury for the families. So horrible.
But I wonder if they had the child checked out? Or questioned. I seriously hope someone followed up on it however I do believe it’s b/s that he made up to throw shade on her.

This case ROCKED our small desert community.
Sidenote...The reason why it never caught fire down in the mineshaft is because there was a lack of oxygen that far down.
Also Nicole told multiple people at the horse ranch & around town that if Erin had been killed nobody would find her body. It was clear to anyone close to the case that she was totally involved. She also mentioned something about a gun but I don't remember what it was. Most of us think she was in the car when he went to meet Erin.
Some of us also believe one of his close friends is involved. His friend had a truck that was mysteriously sold the same week Erin went missing.
Also, people don't just go out & hunt coyotes out here...at least locals don't. That's one of the first things that was a redflag for everyone.

Most first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, I have shared that as well. I was so terrified of loosing my second pregnancy, we tried for years after that and now we have an almost 1 year old rainbow baby girl named Hazel Snow 💗

I've listened to this a couple times, and it just clicked how young she was. People make silly choices at that age, it doesn't excuse cheating, but it kind of explains to me why she didn't want to let go of her affair. I never in my life knew how many women go through miscarriages/stillbirths until I went through it and it opened an entire world to me. My husband and his homicide team from SBSD are the ones who worked this case. My husband and his team were gone for many sleepless days/nights working in the hot desert. They found Erin in the mine after weeks of searching for her body. My husband and his team also extradited Christopher Lee back to the US. I attended his sentencing. Horrible! RIP Erin Corwin.

The statements Chris' wife made to the horse ranch owner makes me think she was more involved or knew about Erin's death. Sure, we all get angry and say things out of anger but what she said about how she wished Erin was dead and 'there's no case without a body' implicates her and they should have definitely investigated her more..
When Bailey said that and I saw how much time was left in the video I was certain that was going to be the plot twist. That the wife did it and Chris helped cover it up.

It's 100% normal for Johnathan to stay silent... he managed to get over the hurt his wife caused him and she still went on with the affair and the guy she was in love with freaking killed her.... how do you even respond to that? just how? no one deserves to die because of cheating or whatever but just how would anyone react?
I have known the stats for many years, but they came crashing in the other day while with my daughter for her prenatal visit. The words "No detectable heartbeat" hit like a brick wall.... we are now waiting for nature to take its course. Our hearts are broken.

@@katieelizabeth834 I think this is where the "fake" or misunderstood second pregnancy came in to play. It would have thrown a wrench into everything for him, his family, AND the move the Alaska. Idk if she really thought she was, or if it was a lie, but it is just utterly heartbraking to think that he may killed her over something that wasn't even true. But dude starting his day with a rousing game of RR clearly isn't right up there anyway.

Thank you, Bailey, for the most accurate account of this tragedy. Other reports/pods/movies/books have been terribly one sided and misconstrued. And thank you for not representing my son's silence as weakness or guilt; he was respectful from day 1 because that is the person he is. As his mother, I wish the same respect had been shown to him. He is doing well, has a child now and would appreciate being left alone. This will be difficult enough to explain to my grandchildren when the time comes.
I think this is one of the greatest compliments that can ever be given -- when a parent involved in a tragedy knows that the story will get out, just wants it to be told correctly, and acknowledges when anyone treats the situation with full respect, journalistic and personal -- that's something humble and wonderful.
I wish you all *HEALING* -- and knowledge that some of us out here DO want a fair, balanced, as accurate as possible, nuanced description.

Perhaps Erin was experiencing "Phantom Pregnancy" symptoms. She had the motive to lie, but she also was still mourning the loss of her first pregnancy, so she might have placebo'ed her body into showing symptoms.

Honestly, I feel terrible for their daughter. Not only is her dad going to prison, she now has the whole world thinking that she was molested. If falsely claiming SA isn’t terrible enough, forcing his daughter to grow up as a portrayed victim in front of the entire world bc he wanted pity for himself is absolutely disgusting.

@@dawnhunter2558 not necessarily. trauma can make you suppress memories so severely that you cant remember. its a common symptom of ptsd (ive experienced due to ptsd). not to say that she was or wasnt, but its smth that needs to be taken into consideration. i genuinely hope that she grows up as okay as can be, and has easy access to therapy if/when she needs it
Thats the one thing that stuck out to me in this. The repercussions of this. If it didn't happen, is she gonna psychology think it happened because it was imprinted on her? (Real, happens in therapy) or is she gon a stick to the lie for her dad? I know many believe that it is a lie, but ppl are still gonna taunt her forever asking if it happened.
