History: divorce was not a thing in the past and people just had to persevere.

Divorce has been an option for a long time, was just a lot harder to get one. Women could only get them for 1 or 2 reasons, but men could get them for about 5 reasons. Plus, there was the social stigma, especially if you were catholic. Church of England made divorce possible about 500 yrs ago due to King Henry the 8th. Here in America, I'm not as sure, but divorce was always an option, just a slim chance it would be granted.
Edit: I forgot to mention that annulment was more common than divorce for a long time, but it is basically the same thing.

Maybe it was to people who had a certain “position” or something like that. And also maybe the thing was staying divorced, so like if you divorce and re-marry then it’s fine. But idk I’m just guessing 🥸

Can we talk about the teenage daughter who was the real MVP and didn't fall for Louise like everyone else and got a lawyer and then found her dad herself when no else would. I feel so bad for her. She suddenly lost her father and this crazy women is living with her, lying about her dad selling her father's possessions, renting the entire house too random strangers and then just up and leaves after making a mess out of this poor girls life and then finding her dead father and realizing she's been living about her dead father for MONTHS without having any idea he was there. I hope she eventually found some peace. My heartbreaks for her
