The coffee is already a cake when placed down, after filming they add CGI to make it look like the milk is pouring and the coffeecup is solid. Then they take away the CGI the moment the knife enters the cake, revealing the original footage. The background when the guy holds up the sheet is cut out and placed on a 3D evironment of this same location (you can think of it like making a clay sculpture that has the same shapes and you project an image you took onto it. It then becomes photo realistic since you used an actual photo as a projection) They did it well because they stop the frame when the whiteboard is standing still and no one is in front of it and continue the shot when the customer pulls away the sheet, since it covered the entire background. Fun little side note: they also left the feet of the tripod expose when they did the actual filming, so that they could more easily allign the CGI tripod to the real one (also making contact with the ground the same from start to finish so it looks real because it is!) Edit: Also, the back of the sheet had the same writing as the whiteboard had, so that it shows when he folds it as a napkin Zach only uses CGI in places it is needed to make the shot work, everything else is left almost untouched, which makes his work insanely well done

Nothing says that there wasnt editing. You can see that there was, to make ir smoother. All it says is no greenscreen usage.

I just imagine that, when they creating this clip, they used all coffee cakes' they had to cut, so in the final version this shot of the cup was the best.
@@Isyourchance It may be so that the cut is clean and takes no effort. It would ruin the take if the slice acted like normal and had any resistance.

That’s fake. That are two different scenes. Why does the cup at the top have a marked line and the cup at the bottom doesn’t?
Because the one with the line is the unedited one?? The other one is edited.
Look at top screen no coffee is poured. This is tracked and had a 3d coffee cup placed over. It was always a cake.
uhh... yeah that taking of the menu as a napkin didn't line up
