Those 4x4s going through at like 50mph is what got it closed in the first place, if a kid decided to run across the road it would end in tragedy as firstly you can’t see through a wall of water and secondly your brakes are wet !

He should also be charged so much for insurance that he gives up motoring, otherwise it goes on all our premiums.

They’ve got insurance, whether the company will pay for the repair is another matter. What depresses me, is that with every such claim, it raises everyone else’s next premium.

After watching literally hundreds ol Rufford Ford videos ive just thought is it a sport to see if you can push the wave of the water right if you don't you guarantee your putting your hand in your pocket to repair the car. Why on earth don't they start driving round.
I simply can't believe what I am seeing. I don't think these people know where their air intake is let alone that oil and water don't mix.....crazy like some sort of lemming syndrome😮
and that is exactly it.. what is under the bonnet is magic to them and they don't get that an engine breathes air and don't know where the air intake is.. nor do they understand the properties of fluids versus gases, gases can compress, fluids cannot. Also, they don't have experience of fecking a car up this way until they do. They think it is just a big puddle. Some of them even probably think it is a quick way of cleaning the car...
The long winter evenings must just fly by in that place.
A great example of why everything takes so long and costs so much money in the UK. Guy was working at a snails pace. Turned a quick 5 minute job into an hrs work.

Actually, there is. They won't pay out if they consider the car was deliberately driven into a situation which would likely cause damage.
Friend drove into a flood in the dark not realising the water was there, his insurance ruled he was responsible for the damage.

The fact someone tampered with the signs so they were permenantly displaying road closed is a pretty good defence against the tickets...
going through it in reverse would probably be the safest option
You'd force water into the cylinder head easier, high reves going slowly forward would be better.
@@mickymac6571Dipping the clutch and frequently revving, constant speed without causing a bow wave is how I was taught. Aim for the centre of the road, as that is the highest point. This system allowed me to get home safely through flood water more than once.

We had the same issue near our place at Headley Ford in the end the council put gates on either end as a judge lost his life in high waters all because of sat nav

This used to be a little fun thing for many years CZcams has made it popular with idiot's that don't understand what happens if water gets in through the air intake and into the engine 😢 slow and steady although the concrete blocks have closed it properly now ps i live a few miles away .

It’s when the emergency breakdown companies look at the huge flood and then ask the driver how “the accident” occurred. “No it’s a complete mystery as to why there’s water in there”
They should put a movement activated PA announcement system up so every time someone wrecks their engine, it says, "TWAT !" And the council should affix a huge sticker to the vehicle which says, "Self Inflicted."

Both, both have pistons.
both engines work the same way and mostly have the same parts, though diesel engines tend to be a little beefier cos greater compression requires it.. just that diesel engines don't use spark plugs.. petrol uses spark plugs.. both petrol and diesel are ICE engines.. 2 stroke or 4... find an animation of how an ice engine works on youtube..

There literally a sign that says Flood Road Closed Ahead 3:02. I believe there were other signs saying that the road was closed due to flood.

Some people just can’t be trusted with anything. I’ve driven vehicles through/over fords for years without issue. It’s knowing what conditions, depth of water and speed etc that govern the decision process.
The insurance companies need to get very strict on this stupidity. Everyone in the U.K. should have working dash cams in their vehicles. Making sure that the premiums don’t go up due to the cretinous behaviour of drivers.
