Birkin being mad at a girl who was at the time 8 years old and being smarter then him always makes me laugh.
Majinhero
That's probably why the g virus was basically created. Never underestimate the anger of a mad genius.
Smarter "then" you as well.
We had a neighbor who was 30+ years old and she hated some kid 7-8 yo because the kid is smart. She even commented that the kid is abnormal. I cannot comprehend where the hatred is coming from.
@@baldericstories8714 that woman must be insecure about herself or just jealous.
@@unknownuser494 well she's fucked up tbh
that's the thing I hated in Darkside, Alexia killing her brother then going after Claire because she's a psycho🙄. In the original the brother dies from his wounds and Alexia chases Claire for revenge🙁
Yeah in Code Veronica Alexia cares about Alfred in her own twisted way despite considering him just a "soldier ant" but in DC she kills him for not waking her up from cryosleep in time.
@@Xehanort10 he did wake her up and then she killed him for not being strong enough to handle her service properly or something; she is more of power-freak in Darkside but I still like the game 😀
That's why Darkside Chronicles isn't canon
@@Psycho-Thinker Darkside and Umbrella chronicles are a summary of the lore, I like them but wish they didn't deviate too much from the original
@@Psycho-Thinker The part where Leon goes to South America isn't canon as well right?
Regarding the medals that Alfred wears, in the novelization the narration specifically points out that what he's wearing looks less like an actual uniform and more like a child's idea of what a soldier would look like.
The novels aren't canon, but unless my memory is playing tricks with me I think there's some toy soldier in Alfred's room that wears a similar uniform and leads credence to this idea in the game.
Similar medals I found were non-military, such as police merit.
@@Dreadjaws
The novels are the official novelizations of the games.
@@jovenc4508 But they're still not canon. They change several elements of the stories and contradict the games in many ways. It's like how the Resident Evil live action movies aren't canon to the games either despite being official adaptations.
@@Dreadjaws
The games contradicted themselves, the books just tried to make sense of it all. They only extrapolated on certain things to try and make the timeline work regardless of how much Capcom borked it.
Even now after all these YEARS later that sound Nosferatu makes when he's first introduced sends chills up my spine

I will never forget Alfred’s intimidating laugh....hehehehehe.....
That laugh will always give me the giggles I don't even know why but it does

**Damn**
Alexander was sitting in that chair for 15yrs!!! Dude when I take a dump on the shitter for to long my legs fall asleep then I stand up with pins & needles feeling!!! I can't imagine how that dude felt
Alfred Ashford also committed his first murder at only the age of 7, with the help and complicity of Alexia. He smartly find a way to give a poison, created by Alexia, to a butler (or a gardener, I don't remember) who worked for their father, as an act of revenge because the guy had made fun of Alexia's dress. Adult Alfred remembers this moment as a very happy memory, as Alexia was very proud of him. She was the brain, he was the arms. This is one of Alfred's flashbacks, detailed in the Code Veronica novel.
The creepy thing about that projector clip of kid Alfred and Alexia is that after they pull the dragonfly's wings off they look like they're about to kiss.
Shinji Mikami actually confirmed in a magazine interview back in 2000 that the twins did kiss just as the VHS cuts off. Which begs the question, did the person recording them deliberately cut off that part to hide how far their relationship went, and WHO was recording them in the first place? Their father Alexander maybe,m?
I always got a Norman Bates vibe from Alfred, since he takes on the persona of his sister as a means to cope with her absence.
Lol
I think that was actually an inspiration used for Alfred but couldn't find confirmation on it
@@InkRibbon Well, his name is "Alfred" after all, so he might be named after "Alfred Hitchcock".
Why isn't RE: CV getting a remake again? 😭😭
Edit:
I WAS DYING OF LAUGHTER @ Kai's "I played through the WHOLE game to test this please hit the like button lol" because we all know how God awful this game can be difficulty wise. lol
The game is made significantly easier if you have prior knowledge of the game and use the knife exclusively until you get the upgraded handgun.
@@Death565656 How were we supposed to know this the first time we played? 😭😭😭Lolol
@@StevieeRayy trial and error. Personally, I knew how tough those games are so I looked up some general tips. Keep empty fire extinguisher, save b.o.w rounds for tyrant, knife until 1st pistol upgrade, use bow gun on bandersnatches, and save explosive arrows for tyrant, gulp worm, and alexia second form.
Thank you for this video! I love the Ashford's especially Alexia they were such awesome villains! I always liked how Alexia felt like a proper evolution of the antagonists - up to that point most of the main villains were either human or BOW's but Alexia was the first to create a virus that gave her superhuman abilities without destroying her mind!
I really hope someday we can get a CV remake so these twins can be re imagined with modern tech!
I like Alexia in so much that she isn't present in the early parts of the game. You hear Alfred speak of her a lot but even Claire begins to doubt her existence when she fails to show at all until you get to the castle (which in its own right, only further leaves people asking if she is real or alive or just something Alfred is playing into), It naturally made her more appealing when you see the real Alexia appear.
imo, The Twins were the most scariest part in CV.
Alexia i found scary while Alfred was just hilarious. XD
@@VitunVatiVille
Alfred is really the comic relief of both.
But the backstory to both of them, is what i ment.
Additional fact:
In the file *Virus Research Report* which is found in the room with Alexia's cryogenic capsule, Alexia specofically refers to Alfred as a "soldier ant".
Knowing that Alexia sees herself as a queen ant, it supports the likely possibility that Alexia's and Alfred's relationship was incestious...
Yo that's sick
The way they acted, and Alfreds obsession with her, it definitely seemed implied
I think Alfred's obsession with military related things comes from too. He takes Alexia's description of him literally. Shame he's a terrible shot with his sniper rifle and only ever manages to hit Steve while in his Alexia personality.
Cercei and Jaimie before GOT
Pretty sure Mikami has stated that after that home video cuts they kiss. Make of that what you will.
"There REALLY IS an Alexia!!??"
I played this game way too many times. At first I didn't like it, but then it became one of my favorites. Such an underrated entry in the franchise.
I don’t want you following me lady…You’ll only slow me Daaaaeeeeeoooown
Also, in the Code Veronica novel, we're given many more interesting details about Alexia Ashford's powers provided by the T-Veronica virus. We learn that she developed a high, superhuman power of perception: she's now telepathic (to the point of even reading her father's mind before he dies), she can see how things are going in Rockford island like she was there, she also practices telekinesis (even in Rockford island while she's in Antarctica, thousands of kilometers away), she uses to "guide" Chris and lead him to Claire (using Claire as a bait, that is), so both of them can be at her mercy. She does that by unlocking doors of the Antarctica facility for him, moving stones to make them show him the right path, switching the lights off to indicate he's going the wrong way, etc. You can see here how she planned Chris's and Wesker's arrival in the Antarctica facility so she can use them as test subject and get entertained by the whole "drama" as she calls it.
In fact, her consciousness had waken up weeks before Alfred's death, as she was basically watching the scenes with her mind and only decides to come out when Alfred comes to die at her feet (which she does by manipulating the machines that kept her in hibernation with her mind). That's why the computers start to work again on their own to let her go when Alfred comes to see her one last time: she uses telekinesis on them to free herself.
That is if you consider the novelization canon.
I didn't know there was a novel version of CV, T-Veronica in that version sounds almost supernatural.
@@jeremyknight9980 There are countless Resident Evil novels. SD Perry wrote the ones that are adapt the 1st, 2nd, 3rd game, as well as Code Veronica and RE0, plus two originl stories set up in-between the books and featuring the usual main characters (Claire, Leon, Rebecca, etc). The books that adapt the stories of the games tend to fill the gaps and solve some plotholes, as well as diving deeper in the characters' psychology, both the protagonists and antagonists. I really enjoyed her work and her adaptation of Code Veronica might be my favourite book of hers.
@@shibitoobscura3348 Hm, I'd love a novel version of Village... mostly because of Lady D, the daughters and Hiesenburg.
I've been really into CV and wish there was more of Alexia, such a cool villain that was so short lived.
@@jeremyknight9980 Yes, I agree. Since I also liked the idea of a novelization of the four lords, I did write some fan fictions about each one of them, with the one centered on Donna Beneviento being novel-size. They can be read on Wattpad but they're in my native language (French).
@@shibitoobscura3348 Nice, I've been getting my Lady Dimitrescu fix on Archive of our own. Some make really good stories centered on original characters and I recently read one called "Blood, Silver and Blonde", I swear it's what should've happened in the game.
Alexia backhanding Wesker sideways up a wall will forever be the best RE cutscene. I hope the remake that should someday come, will combine both the Dreamcast and PS2 (X) version's cutscene of Alexia & Wesker.
Not surprised if out of nowhere appears a new Ashford, like some backup child in case Alexia was a total fail, who was kept in secret.
I wouldn't be surprised either! RE tends to do that, A LOT! Remember when Albert Wesker's son, popped out of nowhere, in RE6!
@@marystone860or the other wesker, Alex
My favorite RE villains 🙏🏻 I was always fascinated with their backstory and found them so interesting. Wish we had more complex characters like this.
Well done Ink Ribbon, on finding 25 sick and twisted facts on Alfred and Alexia Ashford ✌️
Please do police chief Brian Irons next
@ink_ribbon I second this petition, please do one about Chief Irons
Alfred,Lucas and iron are the most realistic and messed up antagonist in re series.
I have some questions:
-I knew they had comissioned the mansion replica but... any idea why?
-What about the torture chamber? It was disappointing that no file talked about this, only the novel offers a little insight on it.
-What was the reason behind the decision of letting Claire live? They didn't torture/question her in all the time she was imprisoned, did they? How much time was that, btw?
-The Lullaby is literally everywhere. I would've liked to have more lore about it (I know, not a question).
-Do filigree disks like the ones in the bedrooms exist in real life?
"Claire Redfield, hold it right there. We meet each other at last! A pity I might say goodbye so soon. I am Alexia Ashford, and for the pride of the Ashford family, I will kill you!"
Their father was the one who commissioned the Spencer Mansion replica. It's (somewhat) explained in the file "Alexander's Memo".
@@Lucas-jx8jg Not really an explanation as to why. I mean, jealousy? To spite Spencer? He just really liked it?
Claire was just transfered the the island when the outbreak hapened.
Was the late George Trevor involved with the replica?
@@Delaecress A small part of me also considers that as a possibility
Code Veronica was my first RE game. So this video about the Ashford twins means a lot to me.
this is actually his favorite game
I'll say it again... Code Veronica is not only my favorite RE game of all time, but my favorite game of all time.
Nice video again Kai! Also the music in this game was incredible! We definitely need a CV remake
Unfortunately one of the main devs hates CV.
@HEADOFTHETABLE it was confirm in a interview, I just don't remember which one. Sony screwed Capcom over CV forcing them to make Nemesis the third game when it was originally was supposed to be a "DLC" for Resident Evil 2
@Scott Smith yeah I remember that story and Nemesis is much less it's own story and more a RE2 bonus than CV which is more robust and advances the story (or could've) pretty well.
I wonder if that dev also hates Claire. Because he basically shelved her out of the main series with that decision.
@@RenegadeShepard69 the only character that any of the Devs hate is Rebecca, he feels like she too weak of a character, the original plan for Rebecca was to kill her and let Billy finish the story.
Just realized while watching this that the original name they had for Alexia, Hilda, was reused in darkside chronicles. Manuelas mom is named Hilda which was transformed after being injected with the Veronica virus.
The weirdest yet but extraordinary characters they are they one of reason I want them to to make remake
He actually took the role of alexia, then he refered to the real alexia as tanya. You can hear this in the darkside chronicles.
Theres an specific audio file that clearifies this
Really? Literally just listened to those files last night and was wondering who Tanya was lol
@@Death565656 yep, when alfred took alexias personality, he thought that alexia was another test subject. that why he named her tanya. he even speaks of the same physical features
@@lenidax5950 no shit. That makes so much sense. I love darkside chronicles for the added depth it gives to re2 and cv
@@lenidax5950 isn't darkside chronicles technically not canon in any parts that take place during the games its running through? Given the fact of said discrepancy and others.
Really hoping Code Veronica gets a Remake. I feel out of all the classics, this is the one that needs a remake the most.
But i'd prefer an expansion for RE3make first...
Re0 remake when? Lol
@@Death565656 Pretty sure Code Veronica came out before 0.
I love them; they're crazy as all hell. One thing is you won't forget them. Some villains I don't remembered in some old games I played when I was a teen. Oh back you're going to remember these two. 😀
finally, you made a video about my two favorite characters from the entire resident evil series
Fun fact in my school vr game the Ashford fall caused a monumental defeat in umbrella
Great video! There’s something about Code Veronica for me as it reminds me of the Dreamcast era. What a great time that was and a badass game!
Awesome video, Kai! When playing it for the first time, years ago, I never seen Wesker "nope" out of ANY battle before! I can remember when it came out, it was on the Gamecube and the Dreamcast only, at first, and I was really ticked off, then it arrived on the PS2! (happy gamer noises)
I always wanted to know who was handling the camera while recording the twins torturing the dragonfly. Also Shinji Mikami confirmed the twins kissed just as the VHS cuts off, and makes you wonder who witnessed them doing that and possibly decided to cut off the part of the VHS that recorded it to keep their relationship a secret
Can you please create a new top 25 facts about jake from resident evil 6 and the silent hill characters
@5:46 if I recall correctly RE5 used guns from real manufacturers but I could be mistaken.
Thanks for playing through the whole game for us :)
People hate on Code Veronica but it was just as great as the other original games to me
I love the story and characters, and especially love the music. But the gameplay like some bosses get extremely hard
I never get tired of Code Veronica content. We really need a remake of this gem.
Also, props to you for playing the entire game for that one shot! We all know how grueling this game is, but I'm sure it was still fun.
Me too bro. Still watching some contents about code veronica.
I totally agree to this day. Yes we need a resident evil code veronica remake. I hope it's next to get a remake
Once again Kai great job!
You're the best resident evil channel out there man!
I hope you'll consider doing a ranking video on your favorite weapons from the RE franchise.
1:30 So this is explicitly said in the Japanese game guide. Their creator/father Alexander had tried to increase the odds of having a genius by artificially increasing the intelligence gene on the clone of Veronica BEYOND her original level. This worked and created Alexia, but Alexander had actually made a crucial error while tweaking the genes. It’s said he accidentally ‘warped the nature’ of the children in his tweaking attempts, triggering the genes for sociopathy and narcissism to become very pronounced, especially in Alexia. Essentially, the twins were born with a genetic flaw and disposition to ‘be evil’.
Don't forget the nurture part: Alexander was a horrible parent to both of them precisely because of his lack of interest in being a parent: He wanted means to fix his failures, not children to love and care for.
I played and beat Code: Veronica on my Dreamcast only once. I remember almost nothing about it, and one thing I can recall is that I always thought Alfred and Alexia were the same person. Guess I didn't enjoy the game that much. Anyway, thank you for all of the amazing content you make! Always a pleasure to watch and listen to.
They start out as the same person and for a good bit of the game they are the same person. Alfred cross dresses as Alexia through the first half of the game on Rockford island until he releases the real Alexia in Antarctica
Great vid Kai
First time I played CV, I thought the twins were incestuous after watching the home movie cut scenes. Has always looked like that to me at least.
Fun fact: the voice actress of alexia in Darkside Chronicles is the same voice actress of annette in re2r
i love the twins, so well written
Yup
I wish i have a twin sister. 😭
Great job like always Kai. We really need a code Veronica remake!
Awesome video thanks!😎👍
Dam! Who else would love to see a full length movie about the life of the ashford twins?! And who would play them? Any ideas??
Been a while since I’ve played, but didn’t 5 also use the original firearms manufacturer names too? Great video! Great channel! Leon = GOAT!
Very good video man
It should be stressed that Alexia is an *unnatural* genius. If she's a glassware baby and in uni by 10, do you really think her neural development wasn't tampered with? It also easily explains her sociopathy and narcissism, and Alfred's neurosis and DID. A brain forced to grow too fast makes for no healthy or stable mind, no matter its academic prowess.
It’s stated that Alexander modified Veronica’s DNA to make a clone better than her in every way, but Alexander wasn’t expecting twins
Alexia was born a genius and her mental capacity easily rivaled the greatest minds at the time (she was only 10)
Her brother while also being super intelligent couldn’t compared against her sister (also age of 10)
Source- Alexander journal in antártica
The Ashford Twins are actually set to cameo in Welcome to Raccon City! The producer said he was intrigued with their home video and thus recreated it for the movie.
With Chris and Claire actualy being Resdient of Raccoon City this time, and with the Ashford's appearing earlier, as well as Chris actually staying in the city, I wonder if this is a eugenics plot already being set up?
Code Veronica deserves a remake
Kai, I do not believe those are real medals, at least from what I could scrounge up, but the medal on the left resembles similarly the Korean service medal, except that medal is golden instead of silver. The middle medal from what I can find, isn't real; it might be a silver or bronze star look-a-like. The one on the far right, I cannot see.
My favorite villains in the series ❤️ YASSSSS
Nice vid mate
I love Resident Evil Code Veronica, it’s my 3rd favorite Resident Evil game of all time in the entire franchise, just below Resident Evil 3 Nemesis OG at 2nd, and Resident Evil 1 REmake/OG at 1st.
Alfred and Alexia are in my top 5 for Resident Evil Villains.
Great video!
Thanks for this.
If I may, I'll add a piece of information about your "berceuse" fact: Berceuse is the French word for lullaby. It indeed is used to help babies and children to fall asleep (the verb "bercer" is French for "to cradle").
As a Frenchman, I can tell you're pronouncing "Berceuse" wrong, but that's understandable.
I hope this little addition was useful.
i had always wondered where rockfort would be in reality. west pacific is still so vague...always knew it had to be close to antartica
still one of the best and most memorable villains from RE in my opinion!
I hope these never end! Love me some RE! 🤙
Great video really enjoyed it, always thought the ants rejected and attacked Alexia at the end though hence the roar an abandoning of the 2nd form, never once felt they where attempting to protect her. Interesting. 🐜🤔🧬
This is Amazing content
You forgot that he was voiced by Richard Casino in Dark side chronicles and is also known for his voice role as Kenshin Himura in Rurouni Kenshin 5:30
One of my favorite Resident evil game of the franchise and my Second favorite Villain Alexia is different and unique than the other villains of this franchise good video👍🏼
Dude, I hit the like button BEFORE starting the video... :D
These are 2 of my favourite characters and this game is definitely needs a remake
same. they are such cool and creepy villians.
This is why it deserves remake
Kai can you make a fact video about alex wesker?
@inkribbon I don't know if you've done it already, but will you be doing any videos on The Evil Within?
They're in the new Welcome to the Raccoon City trailer!
They should’ve added Alfred and Rodrigo as characters in Battle Mode, change my mind.
To be honest, when I first played Code Veronica, I thought they were going to take Alfred and Alexia’s relationship down… a certain route. Keeping the best genes in the family if you get what I mean.
I mean their lullaby literally implies they saw themselves as a married king and queen, or at least how Alfred sees him and Alexia’s relationship. Shinji Mikami confirmed the two kissed just as the VHS cuts off and they was when they were 12. Had Alexia not froze herself, or if Alfred hadn’t died, it’s not out of question about how far they’d take their relationship. Heck Alexia keeps calling Alfred both her soldier ant, and a loyal drone - the latter being the only male ants in a colony and whose only function is to mate with the ant queen.
It was great seeing them for 15 seconds in Welcome to Raccoon City
The Ashfords died and the Redfields went on to extend their bloodline
A video idea
All the story differences and contradictions between the various releases and which ones are considered canon.
ashford family are something else.what's up kai can u make a video facts about mr.x
A lot of people got wrong that nikolai died on re3 the canon version is the jump part cus Nikolai survive in that part and in code veronica we learn that nikolai was still working for Alfred, so if re cv gets a remake and they continue the bad lore from re2 remake theres going to bee even more problems with continuity
I hope we see them come back in a remake somehow
I hope resident evil code veronica is the next remake
In the Code Veronica manga (unlike in the game and in the novel), Claire actually sees Alexia for the first time as she captures her. Claire is attacked and almost killed by a Hunter but is saved by Alexia who feels this kind of death is "not painful enough", and she has better plans for her. So she kills the Hunter herself and then attacks Claire, in order to use her as a bait to lure Chris in Antarctica, promising a slow death for both of them as part of her experiments.
Tragic and interesting characters.

Wow. Around the time I got this game, Total Drama Island was the show to watch. Can't believe Alfred is in TDI lmao
