- It's only fitting that Rebecca would be the subject of my video after recovering! A long time fan favorite of the series, Rebecca has shown that even though she’s the youngest member of stars, she can still hold her own when the time calls for it. Being one of the characters from the first game and still with the series today, fans of Rebecca eagerly await her return to the Resident Evil franchise, but until then I can share what I have learned about her.

I mean she is a short 18 year old girl whose first mission was derailed by monsters. She had little training as a cop. If they gave her a few years after the original incident she could have easily come into her own

I like Rebecca in the CGI movie, how she got bit, and was still able to fight some zombies, and still inject herself with the anti virus. She always struck me as more of the smart type, rather than a fighter.

Yes, and that's why we need more of her appearance in other RE games, since nearly all of RE characther was a fighter type of characther. And seen smart/support type of characther like Rebecca, Moira, Keith and Quint (the duo nerds from RE Revelations) was quite refreshing in the RE series

@Unknown You're right about that, I think this person was referring to a photo of Rebecca in sports clothing you could find in Wesker's desk in RE2, though. Oh, and if I'm not mistaken Alex Wesker is a woman and one of the "Wesker children", so more like a sister than a spouse. I'm not even sure how much or if they knew each other, lol.

Well damn, Mikami. Does every single female character have to be super-self-sufficient? Can't some of them be a little bookish and a tad clumsy? I mean, that's reason I like Rebecca. She's relatable.
I liked Rebecca, shes not as popular as Jill or Claire but being that young and surviving the mansion is pretty impressive. Its kind of a bummer that RE Zero was as goofy as it was I think she should of had more appearances in main titles.
What's even more impressive is she isnt as much of a fighter and she survived the mansion dont get me wrong she can still hold herself in a fight due to combat training and all that but she was more brains then brawn

It’ll mainly be marketed towards switch (maybe even being an exclusive for a bit then released on consoles) but it’s confirmed she’s gonna make a comeback. I just hope we see billy again. I’m 99% positive Daniel from RE resistance will be in revelations 3

Rebecca definitely deserves more love. An 18 year old genius who survived not 1, but 2 mansions filled with biological monsters? I mean come on.
Also it was her first mission. People think Leon had a bad first day but Rebecca had to deal not only with the zombies and monsters but there was Billy Coen too. That being said, it's not fair to say that she isn't strong or independent because she did a decent job in Resident Evil 0.
And the events of RE0 and 1 take place within the span of like...a day and a half. She had it rough

The STARS members having some mind of immunity is brought up in RE3 remake in a file you can find in her apartment. Jill is suffering from panic in her letter wondering why her and the team were not infected. She questioned if the virus is incubating or if they had a natural resistance to the virus.
But how does that make any sense when Edward, Forest and Brad turned into zombies? Kenneth lost his head(atleast in the original) so we never saw that one, Richard got eaten, Enrico was shot before he was bitten. atleast i think he wasn't infected at the time.
Kevin and Joseph were mauled to death, but considering that Kevin hadn't turned when he was found by Alpha team, i'm not sure that Joseph turned either. Or if they zombified afterwards but aren't seen again.
@@Dragunaw It could be refurring to the airborne strain since Jill know of it since she read the documents on it. Or it might be Jill just being paranoid and thinking she is infected.
But in her apartment there are notes questioning why she hasn't zombified or shown any signs of infections. She thinks she has an immunity towards the variant of the virus she was exposed to.
@@Dragunaw Well, this comes back to the fact that the virus does not have a 100% transmission rate. Meaning a bite is not guaranteed to infect you. Another thing it could be is that not all T-Virus monsters could spread the virus, so, even though the zombie monkey bit and clawed on two separate occasions in 0, they might not have the ability to transmit the virus to others. That might be something only a zombie, Nemesis, and possibly the crows, considering Forest was pecked to death by the crows and he can come back as a zombie.
Rebecca should return. We’ve gotten Chris, but we should bring back some of the characters that were lesser used. What if we got Rebecca back? What if Carlos popped up? What if Billy Coen came back?

She's brave and kills tons of monsters in RE0 and then is a afraid of everything in RE1. She almost dies against a single hunter while curled up in the corner :/.

The reason why the flame spray was removed in Mercenaries 3D was most likely because the 3DS would have trouble with the effects and leading to framerate drops. At least that´s my guess.
considering the enemies animate at 5 FPS at a distance in that game, thats not shocking at all if true

I like Rebecca alot. She's super cute but it does kinda bother me how whenever she appears, it's like she's completely forgotten what she's been through and has to re-learn everything. She also needs saving quite a bit. This woman shouldn't need to be saved by this point in the series and if the rumours of her being in REV3 are true, I hope they give her a little more independence.

Capcom has trouble with the character's looks and characterization, because they have inconsistent writers ALWAYS forgetting their own lore or changing because of fan complaints.
Rebecca is the forgotten character of sonic; they only focus on major and noticeable characters

She deserves to be in another game. As much as I love how they brought her back in Vendetta, I hope they show more of her skills. She’s incredibly smart.
Rebecca is SERIOUSLY underrated as a Main Character and NEEDS to be playable in another RE game. She's so underrated in the way that she's more "booksmart" than an ACTUAL fighter like most RE protags like Leon, Claire, etc., that's why I disagree with one of the creators saying Rebecca is "weak and submissive" because she is NOT. She's simply a different type of person and there needs to be more "different" protagonists like Rebecca and Ethan.
Vendetta had some weird shit going on in it, but honestly, seeing Leon and Chris work together and then even seeing Rebecca again who they treat like a little sister with protective older brothers was great

Another cool fact, in N64 RE2 there is an EX File that is Rebecca's report on Billy's "death", meant to tie in with RE0 on N64 at the time, but still a nice bit of canon now regardless.

No, parasites are like leeches.
Leeches aren't infectious unless they carry a virus that can spread by mere surface contact, blood infection or breathing in it's virus from decayed body gasses or dust.
The spores from The Last of Us represents an infectious organism that can be breathed in, rather than direct contact into the body/bloodstream.

i haven't read Caliban cove yet, but since she's in that book, it would be neat to do a game around that. maybe alter some aspects of it to fit with a more classic RE survival game. idk, i think her lack of fighting skills would be interesting to play as (almost would feel like playing as rookie S.T.A.R.S and Leon and Claire again) would give us less of an advantage and force us to adapt to different playing styles instead of the usual click and shoot or fight approach. i just want Rebecca back lol

*Another fun fact* (sorry if it's been mentioned already): Rebecca is the character that S.D. Perry, the author of the Resident Evil novels, mentions as her favourite character in the franchise. This is also why she appears in 4 out of the 7 RE novelizations she has written.
And if you wonder, her least favourite character of the franchise was Steve, as she admits in the same interview. I still think she made a great job with him.
Little known fact about the herbs is that on the botany book in the first game it explains how the herbs kill viruses and cure them that's why no one gets infected in the games even when bit.

Kind of unrelated to Rebecca, but for Revelations 3, I would like for the mold from RE7 to be a side virus thing (kind of like how revelations 2 focused on the T-Phobis virus but also had some ouroboros stuff), because I think that it was a pretty cool virus, but I feel like it wasn’t at its full potential in RE7.

Becca matured and grew strong as a scientist after. I think as a rookie youre gonna start a little shakey. Thats what makes her character so raw and relatable. Easily a character with probably the best developmental momentum in the game, only stiffled by how infrequently she’s in the series

I'm positive, she wasn't in those "movies". But tbh I wouldn't call Andersons' movies RE movies, they're just movies, loosely inspired from RE video games.

The game manual lists Forest and Joseph as mechanics though. And in the Japanese version it's not clear who serviced it.

While you're probably right on saying that Rebecca is not as strong a character as other females, I personally enjoy that. Not everyone is perfectly suited to these extreme circumstances, meaning you may have to save her a time or two, but it makes the game feel a little bit more real (in a sense), not to mention that not just because she isn't that big of a fighter doesn't mean she'll die like so many others. I feel she was an important and necessary character for the franchise.
