Good Job Rich and Sandy, Thanks for the sharing, will be making a seris of them now, like the key hole, along with the nail hole for stability. keep up the excellent work, AlaskaJohn
Really like the pvc pipe , very true not hard on the edge of blade , question ; were can you get the pull triggers for the wooden rat traps, excellent show, thanks to both you an Sandi
Rich, I'm new to trapping this year. I'm from south central Alaska and trying to hit up some lynx. Next year will be the fisher and marten's. Can you give the dimensions of your other beams please? I saw the beaver is 14" wide but what about the others? I have learned a lot from your show. Thank you!! Keep it up!
Sewer pipe is called SDR35 is kinda thinner ... but the C900 would make a awesome Fleshing Beam for the stiffness... its actually expensive as hell though
Built mine out of 12" pvc and similar on the stand.. nice touch with the hole and a peg of sorts.. think Ill add that to mine.. noticed you use the Post knife.. just got mine in the mail and look forward to using it..
Love the video I've trapped for years but am just trying to flesh and strech. Need an all around beam for coon fox and yotes. Not sure how to get the curve at the top ?
Hello. I'm not a trapper, but I'm a hunter. And usually I never keep the hide, but I've always felt bad for getting rid of it instead of keeping it and tanning it to use it. I was curious about what size fleshing board I need for fleshing deer, bear elk, pretty much any big game. Also what fleshing knife should I look for. Also if I do the drying process instead of using salt, do I still have to do a salt bath before applying the tanning solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Most big game animal hides are either laced to frame for scrapping or nailed to plywood. A tool called a hide scraper is used rather than a fleshing knife.
Been thinking about getting into trapping and just found your channel. Great info and channel. Keep it up.
I made a PVC Fleshing Beam System a couple of years ago, loving it!

Too new to this pvc beam fleshing to actually have an opinion. But how about some more videos from you on its functionality or the knives.
@@MarkNovy I'll see what I can do.
I like this vid. Is the base board and angle up board 2x6?
Base and leg are 4x4 the angled support is 2x4

I cut the curve with a jigsaw.
I guess I am a little behind the 8 ball on the Vid! Do you melt the pipe till it clasps? Or is that just half the pipe?
These are cut out of a 16" diameter sewer pipe.
