You are correct. The boards he made here are for stretching and drying the hides. A fleshing board is much thicker and longer and used to scrape the flesh off of the hide. It must be much thicker to handle the pressure of the fleshing knife being pushed across the hide. Still a very well done video.
@@thomrider You are absolutely correct about giving the customer what he wanted. If you look at other videos on You Tube under fleshing boards you will see the difference...your customer just used the wrong term. Again, you did a fantastic job in making those stretchers...I just finished doing some fox boards and wish I had watched your video first on making the curve tracing at the apex. Well done.
I never owned one but i used them a few times it makes it a lot easier than not having one. Thanks for showing hot to make one
