    There's always something to get done before next season rolls around. Great vid.
    When I made my beam a few years ago I used a flap disc to clean off and smooth out the edges. It did a pretty fine job. I don't like hand sanding if I can help it. LOL.
    Another one for cats and a wide ended one for beaver and you'll be ready for next year's trapping season.

      I wish I had a flap disc. Lol I’ll most likely make one for beaver this summer. Appreciate you following along and the comments Archerrwo. ✌🏻

    I like the PVC beams they don’t hold any grease. Great video I didn’t even think about using the Jigsaw to cut the PVC. I just used my grinder and had a heck of a mess.

    • @NorthernTrapper
      @NorthernTrapper  Před 4 lety +1

      If its any consolation the jigsaw made a mess as well. Lol Then the grinder to touch up wasn’t that clean either. Thanks for watching Jason. 👍🏻

  • @bowslingeroutdoors3653

    I love my pvc beams. I do a lot of otters and beavers. Even when i have to get at em hard the pvc takes it well.

    Where did you get or who makes the cardboard templates you used to trace the shape of your PVC cutouts?

    • @NorthernTrapper
      @NorthernTrapper  Před 3 lety

      It was a NAFA forming board template kit I had bought years ago. Some trapping stores might have them. You could also use a smaller coyote stretcher.

    • @mamterilleq

      Riiiight when you started grinding I started to cringe when your grinder got near your sweat shirt string. I’ve seen a grinder mess someone up due to not tucking them away, it was locked in the on position and kept winding up and sucked his sweater hood up and worked it’s way down his arm until it was finally unplugged. Scary I actually tie my strings together now in a way that still allows me to tighten up if needed just cause of situations like that. I use power tools daily. Safety first brother! Glad you noticed yours in dangers way almost immediately woosh made me relax 😂

    The PVC is supposed to work really well for fleshing - can't wait to see how it works out for you. Can I ask where you got the cardboard templates from?

    • @NorthernTrapper
      @NorthernTrapper  Před 4 lety +2

      It’s a kit I bought from NAFA years ago. It has temples for all the furbearers.

      Judith I just got the 2” & 1 1/4 PCV pipe from the hardware store. If you’re having a hard time finding it I’d call a plumber to see if they had scarps from a job.
