    I really enjoy your youtube channel. I am not new to trapping but have learned a lot from your channel. I like when you go to special guests or experts traplines. Another thing I like about your channel is I'm able to see species taken that I'll never see in my area. Also you and your wife make a great teaching and entertaining team. Thanks

    Rich, you'll get some of these new springs up to Morley hey?

    Check on the Marty Senneker website, he has the trigger facing the other direction, but more importantly he stresses to hook the trigger on the wire end side of the loop. Which is opposite of what you are telling us.

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah, the trigger is put that way so if the cheesy setting tool breaks or I lose it I can set the spring using a screwdriver. I had just spent time with Marty and explained exactly how he showed me he thought the trigger should be placed. Perhaps he has changed his mind since then. The two failures with the system are the spring never firing or firing too soon. It is a struggle to figure out how to make it more reliable.

      @@TrappingIncTV Dont worry, all of us who actually get out there trapping understand critical thinking. No matter what a manufacture says, there is always some testing, modifying and technique building depending on the 10000s of variables that come into play! Thanks for sharing brother!

    Rich when you are building these how long of cable do you start with, and what size loop are you looking for when hanging?

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 6 lety

      You need about 5' of cable for a 20" diameter loop. I use twice that amount but set my loops the way Morely showed me with the light wire.

    Do you need a breakaway device to device to make this snare? Or can you feed the cable directly through the camp lock? Thanks

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 6 lety

      The S hook is the break away. This one fails at 750 pounds and straightens out opening the snare. On coyote modes I use a 275 S hook.

      Great video and teachings. I have eastern coyotes were I'm from not you're regular prairie yote we have seen many somehow destroyed snares and break away on 275 breakaways we run 350s I get all my stuff from southern snare supply now we run the same setu6as this just a few lighter components. great vids

    This is an excellant demo Rich on building with the Seneker kill springs. I have been thinkin about useing them. My question, is the break away necessary in order to use the spring. The other thing that has kept me from useing them is I like my snares loaded and with the springs you cant load the snare, is that correct Rich. I snare a good number of yotes and they are doa every time. Some guys call me a liar, but I am not. I do use a 10' or longer extensions so the dog has a good distance to run when he hits it and the cams are super tight on the neck especially since I switched to the toothed cams and they don't ride the cable none. Thanks for the info Rich;) Richard from Kansas, USA

      You do not need a breakaway for the kill spring. Loading a snare is something I've never done so I'm not the one to ask that question.Long snares kill very well on their own without springs!

    Is it necessary to boil and or dye snares. Just starting to trap wolves any tips would be great.

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 4 lety +1

      I boil in water with baking soda and a few spruce boughs. I don't dye my snares.

    Can you tell me, what is the best way to use the diameter of the cable for fishing in the snare, will the cable withstand 2mm 1x19? or are you doing a coyote? Tell me please, which cable diameter is better to use, wolves often cut through the cable. there is a jumper 5. is this a good trap and does it need to be modified?
    A hunter from Russia bothers you. you catch a lot of wolves. Do you attach traps to trees or anchor? For snares is it possible to use a cable with a diameter of 3mm 7x7? We have no springs for snares. We put the snare on the wolf with a lock without a spring. May I contact you for further advice? Thanks in advance.
    Have you ever left wolves from traps?
    did the wolf gnaw through the cable?

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 4 lety +1

      3/32" cable equals 2.5 mm cable. This is the minimum I would use and if I am making wolf snares without the kill spring I use 1/8" (3.175 mm) 7x7 cable. Wolves never chew out of the 1/8" and the 7x7 is nice and soft and tightens up very well for a quick dispatch. I will answer any questions I can. Cheers! Rich

    I notice you put the trigger facing the lock, which is opposite of Senneker's video. His points towards the end stop. Do you think it matters?

    • @TrappingIncTV
      @TrappingIncTV  Před 4 lety +2

      I don't think it matters, the trigger is put that way so if the cheesy setting tool breaks or I lose it I can set the spring using a screwdriver.
