    Hi MeatTrapper... Again, another great video. I've purchased all my snaring equipment cable wire mini pro locks and so forth from Brian at Southern snares and I must agree. He's a wealth of knowledge and more than willing to help. My only target animal are hogs. I've got a quite a few in an area that I'm in. It's private property and I have free run of the place with several feeders out that are visited regularly by these Hogs. I've had limited success. Can you please consider doing a video with content containing specifics on trapping wild hogs with regard to height from the ground, Loop size Etc. I've caught a few around the neck. I caught one around the head and one front leg and I've caught two by the snout only. All of which seemed to have worked but I've had many snares knocked down and just strung out along the trail. Thanks so much and I look forward to the next one.

    if people would remember a little bigger than the head and knee high off the ground
    i understand that until you catch a few to see the size, off times it is hard to visualize those numbers
    as always a great video my Friend
    good to see you are still kicking

    I use Southern Snares on Hogs & Coyotes in my Feral Hog & Coyote eradication business and I have snared several Hogs & Coyotes all my snares are dipped in the bulletproof dip mixture . I should set my traps with the trail camera pointing at them in the movie mode .

    Hello Meat Trapper! Enjoyed the video but there was no reference to hog snaring. What loop size do you use for southern hog. I’m working on ‘me in Texas.

    I purchased the heavy duty "super hog" snare from southern snares. How do you suggest attaching the buckle end to the tree other than attach it high. What material should I use for medium to large hogs to attach it to the tree?

    • @Meattrapper
      @Meattrapper  Před 4 lety

      Do not use wire. I use a good sized quick link for large hogs.

    Great video! Very helpful! My question is do you have a cable gauge and length you prefer for one critter or another? I cant imagine trapping a rabbit with the same snare I would use for a rowdy coyote.
    P.S. For those of y'all that haven't tried it already... beaver is mighty tasty!

    Thank you so much. Very interesting to see. How often can use use a snare? How long do bodygrips need to kill the prey on average? Unfortunately snares aren´t legal in the Bundesrepublik in Germany.

    • @Meattrapper
      @Meattrapper  Před 5 lety

      A snare is a one shot deal. The animal kinks the cable so bad it is not reusable. A body grip kills within minutes on a good catch. On a poor catch it can take longer.

      @Meattrapper  Před 6 lety

      Not anytime soon - but it is definitely on my bucket list! My father was stationed at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks in the 1950s and told me it was the most beautiful country he'd ever seen. He said that I needed to see it before I die - and I will. I still remember as a kid reading Sourdough Jack columns in the newspapers he brought home. Brings back memories!
