Hi Dennis,
Another outstanding China Tools video as usual. Over the years I have purchased a number of these tools you have reviewed, and have never regretted my purchase/s. It must be great when Banggood actually uses your 'China Tool' video to enhance the description when they are convincing the customer to purchase the item. Thanks for all your efforts in all the videos you have done over the years. Your attention to detail leases no doubt in the usefulness or otherswise of the products you are reviewing. Well done mate. kmdc from Oz.
always a pleasure spending time on your channel!
Great video as always Dennis! Thank you for helping us bargain shop!
Hello, thank you Dennis for this feedback on compatibility with the lNCRA hardware. I love your concept of videos, they are pleasant and of remarkable quality, you go to the essential without making cinema, and your tests and comparisons are a gold mine for all the amateurs who watch you. I am in awe of the achievements of your workshop, it is impeccable, in fact I am going to take inspiration from your workbenches to redo mine.
Looking forward to the next video!!!
Thanks Dennis, I always get a good deal on a good product when you post the sales! !! !!!
Thanks Dennis. I just bought a set of the precision setup blocks you previously recommended and the spare brass wheels for the sharpening system, both of which were on 11.11 special offers 👍
Thank you...just purchased the Enjoywood Mitre Gauge and Fence! Appreciate your review and critique! Thanks.
Thanks a bunch for the reviews, Dennis! 😃
Yeah, I've been looking at some of those for a while already!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Christmas came early. Thank you Dennis!
Thanks for the info! That sharpening kit looks like a great deal for the price. I think I’ll give it a try.
You are doing some great reviews. I have acquired several tools that you have reviewed. Thanks!
Thanks Denis...my Horizontal Fixed Clamps arrived yesterday... blinkin marvelous clamps at a great price...Happy Christmas.. 👍👍
Dennis, thanks again for such great video. I missed the 11/11 last year, after that put in my calendar with all kind of alarms, so I am shopping right now. Again, thanks, you have been my inspiration on continuing my new hobby..woodworking. Have a great 11/11 shopping!😊
Awesome! Great to see a video
Very enjoyable informative videos. I think your opinions are very valid keep them coming. 👍
The hours to review ,film and editing must be very substantial . I thank you for that.
As always, great video
Thanks Dennis cheers my friend Splinters 🇨🇦💙
Great video great tips on great tools thanks for sharing
Another great video and a great time of year to invest in some of those tools that are still missing in the hobby workshop. Would really like to see a China version of a MFT hinge for a Track for my saw. The European versions are just to expensive for the occasional use. If you read this Bangood would be great to see a MFT hinge from you to lift the track out of the way when not in use, and quickly fold down when required for tracksaw cuts.
What a pleasant surprise. I was just looking for a 3/32 non-marring countersink bit with depth stop and a router plane. Perfect timing.
Do not buy the countersink bit please! that one sucks. :-(
Genoten van de video, en reuze blij met de gekochte horizontale klem. thanks Dennis
groeten uit Zutphen
I love these videos. I also love getting a Woodpecker quality tool at 1/4 the price.
Clamps ordered ... thanks! 🙂
Hi Dennis, thanks for the time and effort you put into making these wonderful videos! I noticed you were using a ETOPOO Digital Angle Ruler when measuring miter gauge angles. Is that a Digital Angle Ruler you would recommend? Any plans to review angle rulers (/angle gauges)?
Dennis, you are living my dream
☺️☺️
Hi Dennis , do appreciate your videos!
Just a quick one... The apostrophe is two keys next to the L 👍🏻
Very helpful video as always, Dennis! Do you know of the dog hole clamps will work with standard US 3/4" dog holes?
Loved it Dennis. Your review videos in my opinion are the best on CZcams. Whether you bought them or they were sent to you, you give the most honest and in-depth reviews. I see you have the ne t square from Hong DUI. Hope to see review soon of this tool. It is no knock off of any out there. Have a blessed day. And I love my Hong DUI/KM router plane. Best I’ve ever used
Hi Steve, Yes, I got the T-square. I will do a review soon.
@@HookedonWood I bought the Veiko t-ruler and drillpro, both were not 90 and both were horrible to align. I ended up throwing them all out.
Looking forward to your review of the Hongdui t-ruler. It looks amazing, but even at the 11.11 price, if it isn't accurate, I'll look elsehwere.
As always.. Thanks for the great videos!
He Dennis, Quick question. Does the miter fence you mentioned in this video come with the nuts and bolts to attach to a miter gauge and will it (probably) fit a third party miter gauge like the Incra V120? Thank you for your excellent videos!
when half of the items in this videos are in your shop and the other half on their way from china !🥰
bedankt dennis
Hi Dennis, would you please recommend the best router setup, with Router lift. Thanks
I see you using the HONGDUI MT-2465 T Square ruler. Would be great to see a review on that.
Is on the list. Wait for the review, there are some things you should now before buying.
I placed an order today for 8 items based on Dennis's recommendations and the site said shipping was not possible when I reached the check-out stage. I discovered that if you order 2 or 3 items at a time, you can place the order - and there's free shipping so no additional cost with multiple small orders!
thanks for the tip!
Thanks
What screws did you use to get the Incra miter fence to work?
Hinge jig had me interested, up until you said it was limited to 12mm depth. 165° hinges require 13mm depth.
Great point!👍
When I go to the link for the pressure valve on dust collection video, it just shows me cyclone separator, do you have a link that shows the actual pressure valve?
Thanks Dennis, looks like my bank account is going to get hit pretty hard this weekend😂😂
Thanks Dennis. Hungdui is really starting to set themselves apart as a quality tool manufacturer with novel designs. I’m curious if you have used the Harvey miter gauge system? Just as a point of reference.😊
I have seen the Harvey Miter gauge system with a friend of my. Harvey is even a bit more heavy built. It is an impressive miter gauge Harvey made. But when I had to review Harvey the way I do for my China Tool series, I would mention so many shortcomings in its basic function, that I would rate it 3-3.5 stars. Superb, quality but lacks too many things. For example, a ruler. What is the point of heaving a High-End miter gauge but I need to have an extra ruler to set the distance? Only a few positive stops? Why? If you make a more then 6 mitered frame, setting it without a positive stop becomes guesswork. The way you have to adjust the fence to your saw blade is not friendly. And that is even too much for a High-End miter gauge fence, but I will find ore when needed. So, the Hongdui miter gauge and fence are really very nice products that take care of so many more items you need when you work with them. As a quality I think it is 95% of the Harvey. I see the fact that the Harvey is more heavy not as an advantage to work with it, but from a quality perspective It gives me the impression it is just a little bit higher. But everyone, who will see this Hongdui miter gauge and fence will be impressed.
@@HookedonWood Thank you Dennis.
Hi Dennis. Great video as usual. Just tried to purchase Hongdui mitre fence. They want a staggering £23.00 for shipping
😂😂
I believe that is only the case when ship to the UK thanks to Brexit. To the rest of Europe the shipping costs are low to nothing.
Hi Dennis.
11-11 Alaaf 🎉
Hello!
I have to say that I love your videos! The approach you have is so simple, clear ,argumented, thus very valuable,, to us, viewers, so i subscribed instantly. Thank you for that!
I have a question, for you, or anyone else, who reads this comment..
Where can I buy a round base router, with a plounge base option, 3+ HP, on EU market? Preferably in Germany. I've been having a trouble to find one.. :( Thanks in advance!
I know I just saw a very brief glimpse of hongui’s new ruler-does this mean we can expect a full review of it in a future episode of China tools?
Yep, of course. But wait till that episode please. There are dome things to consider
I completely agree with your assessment of the countersink bit. I purchased one and had the same issues, plus the 1/4" hex shaft is oversized and does not fit my Bosch 1/4" driver. It's a very poor quality product and I got my money back form Banggood after reporting the issues.
Great you got your money back. It was a terrible tool😟.
Why not by the Katz Moses chisel mallet from his store? Is it that much more expensive?
Mallet 30 dollars more expansive and the Router plane 60 dollars at this moment. So, the double 11 festival is really interesting.
Good afternoon. What is the name of the black material covering tables and drawer doors?
MDF-Platten / HDF-Platten durchgefärbt
Eg Valchromat
😊
Thanks Dennis
Aah, they removed the MFT style clamps from the 11.11 deals two days too soon :(
Hallo Dennis.
hi Denis, love your videos and envy your workshop. It’s my ultimate benchmark 😀 However, the prices your Chinese suppliers offer are not that competitive at least on my market. It’s not so much different from a quality branded products. For instance I was shopping for a router plane and Hongdui was just 10% down to high-quality similar size from Veritas. With such a small gap going for a well established and regarded brand is the obvious choice
There is a lot more going on than the price though. KM and HONGDUI seems to have corrected or improved design flaws of every other router plane made both past and present
I'm so sad, I just bought an old Stanley router plane and now to hongdui one is cheaper :(
Your nearest Home Depot? Is that not about 5,500km away?
Something like that 😂😂😂
Hello Dennis,
Very disappointing happening: products turn out to be more expensive than before the 11-11 happening.
Thereafter one gets spammed and bombed with messages and emails etc and they are hard to stop.
Banggood dropped in my judgement.
I totally agree and they openly lie when they say stuff like cheapest price in the last xyz number of days... 😬😏
I stopped buying from them a while ago because they are indeed super dishonest: I purchased a doweling jig that said it included X amount of bushings in 3 different sizes but upon reception I noticed that about 2 thirds of the bushings were missing (i.e. I only got one of the 3 sizes). I contacted them and instead of saying there was an error in the listing, they actually edited the product and then proceeded to tell me "No no, the listing says bla bla bla". Super infuriating. I am absolutely sure of this because I took a lot of notes but unfortunately no screenshot. But yeah... definetly don't expect anything from them if something goes wrong because their after-sales team is more like a mafia...
Those countersink bits look like quality control fails from Amana tool runs.
No matter how well you've aligned your tablesaw's miter slot and blade, the most accurate way to square the miter fence is indexing/measuring the miter gauge's fence to the bar. If that's an accurate 90º a blade/slot misalignment will not affect accuracy, just cut quality. Think about a miter gauge on a bandsaw or router table and you'll see that aligning to the blade is not the proper method.
love your channel…but after looking at prices…these don’t seem like bargains to me🙄
Unfortunataly the availability is very patchy with items showing that they are in stock and after waiting for 6 weeks finding that they in fact are not. I have had a few very frustrating waits for my orders to be cancelled and now buy from local suppliers who actually need and appreciate my business more.
Does Katz Moses sell tools on Banggood, or are these KM tool knockoffs?
No, No knockoffs, Hongdui makes the Katz Moses tools, or Kats placed his name on it. This is also better for other parts of the world to buy. Hongdui sells always on Banggood.
Is this correct @katzmosestools? Are you sure these are not knockoffs, Dennis? Katz-moses ships internationally and so it would not make sense for his tools to be sold anywhere except his own website, especially not when this site is selling it $30 cheaper than the cost on his site.
@@7Makowski7 you didn't tag him just so you know, you can't tag someone random in comments like this :)
@@7Makowski7Technically that router plane, made by Hongdui and branded by Katz-Moses, IS a counterfeit of a patented Veritas tool. The adjustment system and blades are "novel" but the main body casting and fence are exact copies of a patented design.
But to answer your question, these are the same router planes made by the same company in China, Hongdui.
Keep in mind when you buy this tool you get NO customer support for broken, lost, or missing parts. At Lee Valley you get legacy support on all of their tools down to the last screw. Lose the blade retaining screw on this knockoff and you might have a tough time locating a replacement. That's a big difference in value for the original versus the Chinese copy.
KM may have been better off trying to sell just the adjuster mechanism as a retrofit if it's as good as claimed instead of going with a design ripoff of the body and fence. And how's the blade selection coming for that Chinese copy? None.
Thanks for the clarifications
👌🤝
Unfortunately Banggood is not cheap anymore really long time. For me it doesn't make sense to buy there :(
That router plane pricing makes absolutely no sense to me. It's almost as expensive as the one by Veritas, and there are no alternative irons for it. Good luck cleaning up a 10 or 8mm groove with a 12mm iron. For almost 150€, that's just terrible.
Sorry, there are different irons available, the quality on par and in Europe this one is 100 dollar more affordable. So you must read love veritass for that extra price tag
@@HookedonWoodIf there are other sizes available then my bad, it looks like a worthy alternative to the western high end planes. The veritas is not 100€ more expensive though, it's 193€ (less than 60€ difference) on dictum and it used to be on sale for 160€ a few months ago. It's still a pretty small difference considering the customer service of brands like Veritas, and the provenance.
I have one and as a professional furniture maker I can't recommend the km18 enough and that's after using both the veritas and the KM The adjustment is just way better than the veritas
Let's just hope the irons will be available for a long time. I just discovered that dictum offers this plane and the standard size iron as well. Replacement irons in other sizes are not that cheap though.
@@kz.irudimenthe KM-17 is a high end western product; in fact it’s much higher end than Veritas. that’s why it’s so expensive being bought through a third party like a banggood. They bought them from Katz-Moses and marked it up. At BG’s regular list price, it’s priced too high but on sale, it’s a tad cheaper than buying from Katz-Moses’ actual site, and about $60 cheaper than buying a veritas (when you buy four extra irons for each).
I myself have a Veritas and it’s great. It’s only a few years old so it’s going to last me the rest of my life under normal working conditions. But if I ever lose it in a fire or theft, I’ll be replacing it with a KM-17 no question.
Veiko tool is 75,63 euro. Not 45. To bad.
Yea, that's a shame, was the only one I clicked through on. I guess they may have sold all of their 'sale' allocation.
They just added more at the sale price.
It seems like this channel has turned into a sales and advertising tool for Banggood?
Only the double 11 edition. Next time I act normal again :-)
I don't know why people recommend the fake Veritas router plane. The original one has more different blades (inch and mm) and attachments.
Because it is not a fake Veritas. But a complete different build routerplane that is more sturdy. You can turn the blade around. It has the same amount of blades. And is more affordable. So, it has as much to do with Veritas as a Nielsen does
A tip for future videos, you're English articulation is getting worse. Maybe you can try to speak a little calmer and clearer? It would suit your great videos 🙂
sorry, next time I will get a slower pace. I will keep working on it. Otherwise, set on CC. That will make clear what I "want" to say :-)
yes, it is typically 'Denglish' the way he pronounces, but I am fine with the way he does it! He talks in a very balanced way and stays rather objective
Buy America!
If you are catering to the North American audience, you may wish to correct how you display the cost of products. Americans, Canadian and I believe Aussies don't use the comma to designate 'cents", they all use the "period". Example one dollar and fifty cents is $1.50, NOT $1,50.
You must be American?
@@pskjr100 And what is the point?
Hey look it’s the Katz Moses router plane “he worked with top tool makers to design” 🙄
That is what Hongdui is
I’ll take my Veritas that they clearly ripped off. Give my money to people doing the real design work, not ripping off other peoples stuff with some little trinkets added to it.
Cool I’m also in the market to get some tools. @Dennis. I sent you an email to the Hotmail address. Is that still active ?
