These young ladies are going home and falling for the hype and going to these pop up post surgery places that snatch you and receiving cavitation, heated massages, buying waist trainers & being told to put them on immediately around stage 1 fajas, and getting laser lipo sessions on top of fresh lipo. I see it all the time here in Indiana. So dangerous.

I have what appear to be bruises, sort of several scattered very dark purplish or dark brownish marks or spots on my left arm. Its been about 12 days now. The ones on my back are fading, but not the ones on my arms. Could this be a lipo burn? Or is it simply deep bruising? How do I know for sure?

    How often is a lipo burn in previously lipo area? I'm trying to understand if I am just an unlucky percentage or if it's common. I was not explained the risk beforehand. I got bodytite with lipo360 3 weeks ago and I have a lipo burn on my left flank under my breast. I'm going to visit a wound care specialist to see if there's something else I can do. My doc said it's because I already had this area lipo before (10+ yrs ago) but not sure if it could be from surgeon negligence or being too aggressive. I've had lipo on my back before and no issues there. Thank you

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  Před 9 měsíci

      There is a greater risk of getting a lipo burn with repeat liposuction for sure or in cases where you have had a previous burn. The percentage I don't know but the risk is certainly there.

  • @colvillesomma
    @colvillesomma Před 5 měsíci +1

    I know this video is old but I want to share that I was literally crying into my pillow last night about my two lipo burns and felt the surgeon kind of lied to me about how and why I got them. He was just so chill about it all and it made me feel like he was covering something up. Mainly because I went down a rabbit hole online. Now here we are and it turns out what he said to me (that the tissues were traumatized … which is basically layman’s terms for what you’ve described) makes complete sense as does the location. I wish more doctors would really explain to patients what happened in more detail. We aren’t stupid. Your diagram could be understood by a 3rd grader. ❤ so now while I may be annoyed at my dr I’m not disappointed in is surgical ability!

    So to better understand, not caused from the surgeon being careless? Just depends on how your body reacts?

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  Před 9 měsíci

      I have been a surgeon a long time and I have never seen a careless surgeon. Some are naturally more talented or technically better than others, but to become a surgeon you need to excel in undergraduate and medical schools as it is very competitive to gain entry into a surgical residency. It is hard to do well academically if you are careless so it weeds out a lot of people. Then once in residency it is usually at minimum 5 years of training and you work with many, many other surgeons and physicians and if there was a concern over someone not operating to standard or being careless they would not complete their training. So it would be very unusual to find a careless surgeon.
