I Believe Insta 360 which i dont have :( Doing a tour around Africa 32 000 Km now and very dissatisfied with Go Pros
@@ridewithmimi What kind of issues are you seeing with the GoPro's? I wonder if they're the same as what we've ran into...
@@1LiterADV what kind of issues did you run into with you gopro 11?
DJI secretly also enabled you to go and adjust the gain level to minus value, did you by any chance get a chance ti try it out? If yes, has the audio quality from external microphone seen any improvements?
Yes I got the update. It allows me to no longer distort the microphone in my helmet. The only downside is that there is no “AUTO” gain option that would control the gain automatically. Perhaps this may be a future update…
I think for me this is the most honest and straight forward comparison i have ever watch between OA3 and Hero11. I just bought OA3 last month and i'm very satisfied as hobbyist. Great video my friend!👏
Thank you for the feedback! And glad the Action 3 is working out for you.
You demonstrated exactly why GoPro would never get my money, it's reliability. As a biker, you get one chance to record your ride and if the camera fails then all is lost. I agree regards the DJI sound as it is it's weak point but it much improved with the latest release and of course it now has 10 bit. A really well balanced camera review, good job sir.
Thanks for the feedback!
Well, I made a mistake in GP. Gonna have to switch over.
DJI Osmo action 3 has D-CLike 10bit colour option for a long time now. Best thing about DJI is they keep pushing important updates.
No they not. They only update product few first months and only with features that should be there from beggining :)
Great job with the comparison. I just got my Action 3 last weekend and I'm happy with it. It has a build date of 9/22 with the new update on it. It doesn't look like it has any focusing issues for me, but im just a casual user. Looks good to me though. Glad that you kept your video to the point without all the regular click bait youtuber crap in it.
Thank you! My big concern would be if the hot summer days will cause the Hero 11 to overheat even with 10 min recordings. I guess it’s something we might test next year.
My hero 5 would freeze constantly. Had to pull the battery out every time to reset it. Real PITA! I'm liking this new camera, dies it have voice command options? Start/stop recording etc?
Yes. The DJI Action 3 has Voice Commands.
Very well made clip and info. I would love to see more video from this channel as I subscribed.
Thanks for the sub! More to come.
Thanks for the scoop on the Boya BY-K4, I've also heard that works.
The link in the description goes to the male K1.
Great job on the overview and comparisons. Lots of work with editing and giving us some great info.
Thanks for the note on the link. They seem to change over time, so I need to check on them. 👍
Excellent review, some good points made. I pick up the Action 3 tomorrow and a Honda CL 500 next week. Take care, ride safe.

@@1LiterADV your video quality is amazing 💯

Great info. Thanks. I get the peaking audio on my action 2. I brought a gain adjustment dial that knocks it back
Thanks for your feedback! I’m hoping there will eventually be another update that will provide an auto-gain setting that will prevent clipping.
You deserve more subs!! 100k next year!!
Thank you so much for your efforts
the amount of effort you put into making this video deserves a sub!!! sheesh bro!
Thanks for the sub!
The key things I'm considering on which one to get for my camera is battery life, price, and that over heating issue. Also that magnetic mount is pretty trick, so I'm leaning towards the DJI camera for my next one. Over all good video though!
So informative - thank you! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Liked and subscribed cause stop-motion unboxing. Loved it!! (Plus biker/videographer)
😊
Thanks for this video! Perfect!

Refreshing to see an evaluation that isn't done from a GoPro UI perspective (as most of the other "reviews" found on CZcams are)!
I´d like to add another big advantage for the Action 3, the live view on a phone or surfpad during filming. Something that NO GoPro Hero from model 9 and onwards can show!
Glad it was helpful! I actually didn’t know that GoPro didn’t offer live view.
10:48 Canon R5 - provides a reference image on location to compare both cameras to which is missing from most action cam reviews.
Finally someone👏. Thanks man.
Nice job with the comparison review for motorcycle-specific applications. I've been using GoPro's on my rides for the past 5 years and usually have two cameras mounted to my helmet (front and rear facing). I used to use the wireless remote because it was a great concept in being to control multiple cameras simultaneously. Then the remotes started flaking out with the Hero 7 blacks, so I just record all the time, using an external power brick that can power 2 cameras non-stop for about 8 hours. The audio has always been my biggest complaint with GoPro and I really don't understand why they just don't include a standard 3.5mm audio jack. The mic adapters, I've had several and they all have issues -- either not recording any audio at all or introducing clicks/pops in the audio. I "upgraded" to the Hero 9 because I bought into the marketing hype around the media mod that would do away with the mic adapter. As you noted, the big downside to the Media Mod is the stupid design where you have to remove the camera to get to the battery/memory card. I returned that piece of junk after finding out that you have to take everything apart to get to the memory card. The main reason why that is an issue is because I don't want to have to remove the camera from the GoPro mount and try to get everything re-centered when I re-attach the camera to the mount. I still have issues with the Hero 9 Black and the mic adapters not working right, and have just been living with the wind noise in my videos, with the front camera on the side of my helmet producing almost nothing but wind noise when riding; the rear is a little better and I sometimes use that audio track with the front camera video. I think I'm done with any more money on GoPros and am waiting for DJI or Insta360 to provide a better solution. They are getting close, as your comparison shows. Sorry for the long comment.
Thanks, I agree in that hopefully the next DJI update and/or product will finally have it all figured out in the audio sphere.
Great video, loved the animated unboxing too! I wonder if the manufacturers will ever make a Blue Tooth set up for Motorcycle Vlogging? so we can simply have a Mic in the helmet connected via BT to the camera? seems like such a logical option. I hate having to have the wire hanging out and physically connect to the camera on my chin mount! (or anywhere on the bike) would be great to be able to just jump on and connect using BT and ride away (maybe even connect several cameras at the same time) great channel keep up the good work 😁
Thanks for the comment!
Yeah, a Bluetooth connection would be nice. 👍
You can use DJI Mic if you use DJI Cam, just need to plug in receiver to the cam, but thats it. Transmitters(mics) themselves are wireless
This is the best motorcycle camera comparison on CZcams !
Thanks 🙏
Okay, that unboxing earned a like 👍
Much appreciated
Fantastic review! I actually tried an action 3 but it had a focus issue and had to send it back. I did notice the mic distortion on the bike which sucks. I went back to my Hero 9.
Thanks!
Exactly what been looking for off road dirt biking
stay with the GP10 black with gopro mic adaptor , 3.5 mini mic & Uzanzi alloy cage
OR
ugrade to DJI Osmo Action 3 & DJI Mic
Well done on the comparison.
Thank you!
I got my action3 and very happy with it. The magnetic clutch is super
Nice! The magnetic mount is definitely awesome!
I empathized with your struggle of finding a decent USB C to TPS or TPPS mic converter. I went through a good many before I found one I loved. I do most of my video editing with a cell phone, and finding a combination of good mic to cell technology that doesn't overwhelm the cell phone itself was no easy task. I prefer the Hero 11 due to the color and lens. The overheat issue boils down to the internal battery. Get a new battery door to expose the USB C port, and carry a jumper pack with you. The camera will stay on for ages, and will run cool. I don't know why GoPro has been so reluctant in advancing their battery tech, but it's really starting to screw them. I'll probably get a DJI as a new secondary camera. I only jumped on the Hero 11, because it was easier to purchase in a local retail shop. Also, because I have a soft spot for GoPro. Been using them for awhile, and I like what they do over at my fishing youtube channel. The overheat issue is something that should've been addressed by the Hero 9. The fact that it hasn't has me concerned about GoPro's future. This really shouldn't be an issue at this point.
I can't tell you how happy I am you did this, I am subscribing, it makes so much sense, and the weighing part 2:34 - 2:40 was the most thoughtful &' sensible thing you did, thanks and love from India.❤️
Glad it was helpful!

Hey I am planning to buy either of these, now I am well aware of all the issues associated with Gopro, even though I have a hero 8 but I have a fair understanding, is there any focusing issue with Osmo Action 3?
Personally, I didn’t see an issue with focusing. And from what I read online, if you purchase a new Action 3 today, it will likely come from the manufacturer with the focus issue fixed.
@@1LiterADV
Which one do you prefer to use? And how is the Insta 360 x3 for motovlogging?
I haven’t used the 360 yet, personally. And at this time, if I had to buy a new action camera, it would likely be the DJI Action 3. Even though I’m not happy with its volume control, it’s still much lighter and easier to use and mount to the helmet. I can’t speak for long term reliability.
Love the unboxing.
Thanks!
Well explained
Since recent updates the action 3 has 10 bit in HDR mode or cinelike mode.
The HDR mode is relatively subtle and also makes a big difference to the dynamic range in dark areas.
Cinelike is possibly best option if you are handy at editing.
The bottom of the camera is magnetic which can be quite useful though probably not safe to drive along with it stuck to a vehicle at any speed.
The star feature is that magnetic clip mount, long battery life and much lower cost than gopro yet with more than acceptable image quality.
I tested the magnetic clip to about 70-80mph with it on my helmet. Not sure about being on a car, though.
@@1LiterADV The camera itself is magnetic though so can be securely placed on a flat metal surface even upside down or portrait mode - sometimes useful.
Great video review.
Thank you!
Dangit, still on the fence. Dji is giving such a better package and now need to see what their 10-bit update does. But goPro 11 is great for lowlights out of the box. The only issue I see besides price is how will it survive up to 48 celcius temps in the summer.
I think you cannot go wrong with the DJI. If you’re able to find the perfect mic gain setup, I think all else will work fine.
Color grading is a personal preference I wasn’t too sure about the colors you added to the video but everyone have different taste to you the color grading looks 100% amazing to me it was 60% better but feel like it was too much color
I think if you check out our other videos, like the Moto-camping ones, you’ll find I don’t color grade with this much saturation. I did in this review just to show how much the colors can be adjusted without clipping in the luma range for each color. Back in the day, older action cameras were really difficult to color grade w/o blowing out colors and highlights. But yes, everyone definitely has a specific taste.
Excellent job.
Thanks Ben!
Thanks..
Nice review bro... ❤
Thanks ✌️
Great review, I would like to see how these work with handlebar remote, I currently use an Akaso and snap lots of pic and video via the remote. I usually lower the sound and place music for posting...Thanks !!!
Thanks for the comment. I actually still have a Brave 6 Plus. Unfortunately the GoPro remotes can be finicky. Sometimes the remote will disconnect and require a reconnection via the menu settings in the GoPro. At least that’s been my experience.
That cable is a 3.5mm Male to Female Adapter Extension Cable Cords with Volume Control on ebay
great video! I still prefer hero7 black with zoomh1n lav 😅 ill wait till they will make better gopro then 7.
Nice video comparison! I hope the bike didn't get damaged too bad.
Thanks! No damage to the bike. Just a scratch to my vinyl wrap from my boots as I was jumping off in the fall.
I’m subscribing just based off that stop motion segment
😊
I’m a MC guy and I appreciate your comparison video. I’ve got the Action 3 on the way. I’m a racer and mechanic so I probably won’t publish much. One bit of feedback after viewing a dozen tutorial CZcamss on Action cameras; ditch the background music.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, we often have entire videos with absolutely no music in them. Not sure how they will age.
awesome video! What do you mean about auto level "audio in" in gopro11? is there tru audio compressor/limiter ? I'm riding on kawasaki versys1000 )
Thanks! And nice bike ✌️
GoPro’s audio input level is automatically adjusted. Basically same as auto-limiter. You don’t have to worry about clipping audio if you make a loud sound, or too quiet if you’re filming something not loud.
@@1LiterADV thanks! I film my riding on old sony3000 action cam, because it has 3.5mm jack for micro, without different media mod and other male-female-trs-trrs adapters,
I wanna new cam, look at gopro10\11 and dij 3, but can't make a choice
Both the DJI and the GoPro will be a video-quality upgrade from the Sony3000. If you can figure out how to find the correct audio-input gain on the DJI Action 3, then I would suggest going with it. Otherwise you need to invest in GoPro's adapter and make sure you have the correct microphone jack type (TRS). - Vsevo dobrovo!
@@1LiterADV I've seen a lot of videos where the gopro camera suddenly shuts down and needs to be rebooted. sometimes you need to take out the battery. it's scary. thank you for "all the best" in Russian. I appreciated it) I continue to search for the best camera for a motorcycle)

Thank you so much for this Amazing Comparision between DJI and GoPro 11. One thing we must acknowledge is that DJI does have a lens issue that cannot be resolved by sending updates.
Anyone who is going to buy First Action Camera I believe he/She should go with Gopro because there is plenty of accessories available in the market for Gopro and you'll get amazing community support.
I guess DJI is more focused on Drones and other things but Gopro just makes Action cameras to it totally makes sense to spend some extra on a well-settled product in the market.
Thanks, glad you found it helpful.
What should i get? Dji osmo action 3 or gopro 11?
I am beginner.
@@manfredroncevic4330 You should go with GoPro hero 11 because you'll find so many aftermarket accessories with community support from GoPro users.
DJI is famous for Drones only and they don't really care about their Action Camera segment.
GoPro is a dedicated Action Cam Company and believe me you can do so many amazing things with GoPro.
Very helpful!Thanks!
I think DJI osmo better for Motovloging coz lighter and simple accessories for helmet mounting
What a great review. That's what I was looking for as a motorcyclist.
I would go with GoPro however I'm worried about this overheating. How often it happened to you while having camera mounted on helmet?
Glad you liked it! While riding, the GoPro never overheated. But it was not hot outside. I can’t speak to warm weather riding 🫤
@@1LiterADV Thank you! Plus, what I would like to mention you have extra ordinary presentation skills. Video editing on really high level. I liked this unboxing effect and I can imagine it took a lot of additional effort. Kudos for roasting all those videos with weird faces expressions in thumbnail photos.. It's soo annoying..
I started to watch the video and since the very beginning I notice different level of quality of this review. I thought "this guy needs to have hundred of thousand subscriptions" Which such quality of content I'm pretty sure it's just matter of time. I can't wait for new content. It could be review of microwave I will still watch this because of the way and style you are doing this.
It’s great to hear such feedback. Honestly, if we reach 100k subs, I will review a microwave just for you.
@@1LiterADV I strongly believe 100k is just a matter of short time. About this microwave - I'm gonna hold you to that 😊
If dji action add or fixed low lighting issues I would buy it
I had one of the original GoPros. A great idea. However, I've had DJI ever since and they are just so much better. Basically, the BMW of the action camera market, versus Go Pros Peugeot. That said, like you, I couldn't find a cheap 3.5mm to USB c adaptor and so got skinned by DJI for their own adaptor.
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for such detailed comparison!
What’s the settings was on Action 3 camera? I’m talking about possibility to lover the sound as low as -12db. I’m in doubts about mic for action 3 😢
Спасибо! In my experience, I needed to lower the mic input gain very low. You can start at -12dB and go from there. If your microphone is still too loud at -12dB, you will need to buy some sort of inline controller that will further reduce the input gain.
By the way if you get a phone mic with the ear buds, cut the ear buds off and attach a wind sock over the mic and put that in your helmet, then you have to get a rss female to rs male adaptor for that to work correctly then plug that into your rss to usb c adaptor you will notice that the sound quality on the DJI action 3 is much much better and you won't be over talking the mic, because the phone mics already have that noise leveling built into them. Works great for me and I ride a KLR 650 and go off road all the time.
Good tip!
I cant imagine how long it took you to do that stop motion shot homie... sheesh
Awesome video! Is the microphone adapter you used compatible with GoPro hero 10?
Thanks! Yes. I believe it’s compatible from Hero 9 through 11
Thanks😁
Great review, cheers. I upgraded my hero 8 to the 11 recently but had an issue transferring files. The camera itself also had a habit of turning on but then freezing, it wouldn’t record any footage and the only way to turn it off was by removing the battery. Very annoying when you have the media mod setup. GoPro customer service where terrible and just wanted to give me a refund instead of fixing the issue (because I was in the 30 day guarantee period). So I sent it back and just got the DJI but I’m disappointed with the mic and audio setup. I’ve tried 3 different adaptors so far with no luck. At this stage I’m tempted to just go back to my Hero 8 😓
Sorry to hear about your experience. Truly disappointing. Have you tried any of the mic adapters for the DJI that are linked in the description? They worked for me.
@@1LiterADV Literally looked to order right after watching your video. I’m based in Ireland though and unfortunately can’t get them here. I’ll head to a local camera shop and see if I can get it and go from there. Cheers 👌🏼🇮🇪
I see. Good luck!
did you test out the loop recording options? i am still trying to find someone who demonstrates the DJI vs the Go pro for the operation of the loop so you ca keep the camera running but only save the last 5 min if something good happens.
No. But I tested it on the GoPro 9, as a dash camera. And it worked well. I don’t recall off the top of my head how long of increments you can loop. (5 min, 10 min, etc…)
10bit is already added to the Action 3 and a few other improvements. Check for a firmware update as it has been done for at least a week.
Yes, I’m really glad DJI released these several improvements recently. We noted this in the pinned comment. Huge win for the Action 3!
The GoPro Quik app sucks because it forces you to save all the big video files to your phone's Internal HDD on your phone rather than have an option to save it to the External SD Card. This makes it hard to edit large video on my phone.
Nice video, but i have question for you friend. What external microphone are you using on the DJI? I ask this because I can't find a way to keep my Movo lavalier microphone from saturating inside the helmet. It sounds horrible. So much so that I had to go back to my old Gopro Hero 4 So what is the combination that worked best for you between adapter and microphone on the DJI? Greetings!!
If I understand your question correctly, you’re having issues finding the right volume gain on your lav mic.
For me it was a bit of trial and error. I think I ended up sticking to something in the negative range. I don’t recall the exact dB amount. This is the massive downside to DJI. I hope they fix this.
So about the Action 3 mic adapter, none of those with an extra usb c input works (that enables recharging while recording)? Only the one with USB-C to 3.5mm? Also did anyone noticed that the battery supply for this camera is non-existent right now? I can't find where to buy extra batteries. So weird.
thanks so much for this video its helped me understand a lot more between the two as i was about to pull the trigger on the DJI however i do not like the audio jack limitations, i am wondering whether i could bluetooth pair the DJI to my SENA 30 headset and use my boom mic inside the helmet for the audio ?
Glad the video was helpful. I haven’t never tried Bluetooth on the DJI. You’ll have to let me know if that works for you.
@@1LiterADV I have reached out to DJI support and this is their response " Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in DJI Products. We are sorry to inform you that the DJI Osmo Action 3 cannot be directly connected to a Bluetooth headset for audio pickup. On our end, we'll have this concern voiced out to our corresponding team for its potential. Thank you."
Great video - very informative and much appreciated. A couple of comments about the "latest firmware update" for the DJI. My understanding is that it adds 10 bit color and permits the db level setting to go down to -12db (I think). I'm hopeful that the latter will address the too-hot mic problem. Do these firmware updates affect your opinions?
Glad it was helpful!
Yes, the latest update would have strongly affected my review. Unfortunately I had finished filming before the firmware was released. The only thing that would still like to see DJI do is offer an “auto-gain” option for the mic input. This way it would never peak but also not be too quiet.
Sadly I can confirm it does not--still way too hot with any wired lav mic I've tried. Very disappointing.
That’s very important feedback. Do you happen to have multiple lav mics you can test? Microphones all have different resistance levels. Some are quieter and some run very hot.
@@1LiterADV I've tested four different ones and they all go too hot. TRS and TRRS. However after some research I think it's possible that using different USB-C to 3.5mm adapters might do the trick, it's just DJI doesn't really offer any guidance to the right spec. I thought the Boya BY-XM4 was the right one, but it seems others perform better when it comes to gain control.
Even with the -dB adjustment, the mic is too hot?
Nice review. I think DJI now has updated with 10bit color. how this is compared now to gopro 11?
The 10bit helped somewhat. But GoPro’s overall video quality is still very hard to beat.
What’s the little tire pump you have ? Does it work ok ? All I see are to big for what I want, that looks perfect 👍🏻
That’s a pump made by a company called MotoPumps. We are actually getting ready to release a video focusing on that pump. Yes, it’s reliable.
@@1LiterADV Much appreciated thanks man 🍻
Have you thought about putting the dji mic ? (in order to have access to the audio levels)
Which mic are you referring to? I know DJI makes the Compact Digital mic, but it’s around $329 and wouldn’t work in a helmet.
Can you please do a GP12 & Action 4 review for motorcycles?
We may be able to get to it. But cannot promise
if you want use mic adapter for dji osmo action 3, just using boya by-k4 mic adapter,,
8:30 Aha! The DJI caused you to crash! Thanks for researching the the USB TRRS adapters! Very concerned to see overheating in a 68 degree room and then outside with GoPro 11. While I normally do video in short bursts lasting seconds to maybe 10 minutes on a motorcycle it's not that easy to start / stop recording and thus longer recording times can be important. Gr8 and fair coverage of the topic!
Thanks!

Yeah in my case, the VStrom has a tendency to wash the front wheel out in sand and mud. I know in the video it’s hard to tell, but it was very muddy and slick. But hey, the extra challenge is what makes it fun!
Hi. Do you have a hard time pressing the record button on the OA3 with gloves on?
Yes, I believe I mentioned it in the video. I found it more difficult than the GoPro buttons.

We probably won’t be able to make another review video until later.
What's a good mic for exhaust sounds? Do you put a filter on to filter the wind noise?
In most of our videos, you’re hearing a GoPro mic that’s tucked inside of our helmets. Since the mic is inside the helmet, there isn’t much wind noise but the exhaust is loud enough to be heard. Only downside is you can sometimes hear heavy breathing when we’re riding too hard 😂
Bring back the Liquid Image Extreme HD goggles with updates & larger SD card capability
I saw the adapters for the dji external mic listed. Did one work better than the other and what microphone do you use and was the sound edited on post or raw from footage?
Both adapters seemed to work the same. And there was no editing for the audio. The mic I’m using in my helmet is just a regular boom mic with a TRS male end. I will link it in my description shortly.
@@1LiterADV Thank you for your answer. I am almost positive I am getting the action 3 I just needed to know the audio was good. The focus issue seems to be fixed with the newer hardware and if you get one that is not fixed DJI seem to be good with fixing the issue.
I think you’re making the right choice
I found my Hero 11 overheated outside and 62 degrees. I never had an overheating issue with older GoPros. Very disappointing.
Is the magnetic mount on the DJI strong enough for a helmet mount, if you are going fast on your bike??
I believe it is. I never saw any sign of it coming loose. Off-road or on highway.
Could you make a new video comparison to include the new dji 10bit and hdr capability!
Great suggestion
6:07 both cameras leave buffering pixels in the sky. It’s actually like that throughout the whole video. The sky gets bad resolution.
Yes. I will say that sometimes when uploading to CZcams, this and color banding becomes much more noticeable.
I ride in sacramento, so the heat will be 90ish degrees or more. I hope the Action 3 can withstand some 15 minute recording sessions...
It should. Our GoPros seem to work okay in 90° weather. And the DJI is even more resistant to heat.
I probably missed it, but whereabouts was this filmed? Looks very midwesty, like IL or MO...?
We are in KS
@@1LiterADV Thanks, great vid btw.
ALL gopros overheat. The fix is to toss the internally battery that heats up in the camera and run it off an external power pack. Also don't need to change batteries like this.
Well done, great video. You covered the important things and didn't try to hide the GoPro's flaws.
With media mod on, I get 15 or 23 minutes filming from one battery on my hero 10 shooting at 5.7k or 4k 60fps, yes pathetic isn't it lol
It does, however, have excellent video quality, which to be honest, is it's only plus over a dji or inta rs, otherwise it is an unreliable, expensive, frustrating piece of ....
Also, to get reliable audio required using a rode wireless go 2 receiver on the gopro and transmitter in my helmet.
Add that to your weight and cost list lol 😢
Thanks!
@@1LiterADV Getting further in I noticed you're not using the latest 10bit osmo, perhaps you could do another follow up to this video, as the differences in picture quality from other reviews is a lot closer than depicted in yours.
Couple of things...
Can I suggest you find a more colorful area to shoot your on bike videos as the forest you used was very drab.
Also, tell your viewers if you are enhancing the images in post, or are they straight out of the camera.
In the footage, i specified if/when color grading was being done. Otherwise, everything is straight out of the cameras. Hope that helps

I see another cool local like walterific! LOL.
Mmm interesting, this is bit and bits here and there, I bought a gopro 11 at Costco for Haft the selling price with 2 batteries and mounts which I can return any time within the next 2 years, who can beat this ?
MAYBE a lighter bike could help. On the open road, at a higher speed could give different wind noise.
Mount mine Hero 7 mostly on handlebars keeping charge up with USB cable coming off Royal Enfield accessory plug or when helmet mounted off Battery Tender plug so battery life is never a problem. My concern is how long can I record on one Micro SD card, and no one ever researches that. 1080 30fps Protune off (but audio sucks) I get over 7 hours of recording time on my 128GB Micro SD card. Protune on Microphone Setting on Wind or Stero audio is better but recording drops to 5 hours. The Action 3 can take a 256GB Micro SD card and would like to know if I can get over 5 hours at 2.7K 60fps? Recently heard there is an Action 4 coming out and would love to know the specs on that. I am divorcing my Hero 7 for the reasons you mentioned, it overheats and shuts off and some time I get a love note saying it is repairing video which is code for, it just lost my video. Great video. Appreciate the help.
If/when the Action 4 comes out, we will certainly review it
My Hero 7 BLACK gets hot especially in the summer time even while riding, and shuts down. I have lost some nice motorcycle rides because the GoPro got hot and shut down and I didn't know it. I don't worry about battery life because my Hero 7 is plugged into my accessory electrical. I will be switching to Action 3 because of the overheating and shutting down. Also, I need a new GoPro mic adapter because the female plug is worn and sometimes I get clicking when the mic cord is bumping around on my motorcycle. Thanks for your review.
Glad the video helped. And it’s a bummer about your GoPro overheating issues. I’m surprised even the 7 had the issue.
@@1LiterADV Yeah, they have to know it GoPros in general have a heat problem, and being an action camera they'll be used outside in the sun, and they make them BLACK??? they get hot just sitting off in the a
Arizona sun.
The problem is GP kept giving you shit after shit when they could have resolve these issues like overheating, split screening, battery life, etc.
How to reduce wind noise in osmo 3?
Chest mount or handle mount is good for moto vlogging?
We prefer helmet chin mount. It provides one of the most natural angles for view
I ride a KTM 350 EXC-F for street/technical trails and a KTM 1090 R for pavement/easier trails, so thank you for this video! I will NEVER buy another GoPro camera again after all the problems experienced with them. I prefer a top helmet mount, NOT the style you are using. Any suggestions or links you can share on a stable top mount for the Action 3 camera? Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I’ve only been using the Chin Mount brand. But I have also had success using Gorilla double sided tape with a regular GoPro type helmet mount. It’s a DIY approach
The fact GoPro hasn't fixed their overheating issues just baffles me. It seems like they are more focused on subscription based income now. Their competitors are catching up fast and if they don't get back to making quality products I'd be surprised if GoPro is still at the top of action cameras in two years. I just switched to DJI Action 3. I think the GoPro 8 was their last truly reliable camera.
Who knows, they are a publicly traded company and maybe they are just focused on their shareholders, aka subscription income and so on, like you mentioned.
Shame the external audio seems to be a deal breaker for the action 3.
With the recent update, it’s possible to prevent distortion/clipping. But it’s still not Auto-gain like on a GoPro.
Hi there. Can you test whether voice command works like start recording and stop recording with helmet ON and visor closed. It will be game changer for motorcycle riders 😁
Also how do we know whether recording has started with dji. Currently my action camera doesn't have front screen so I have to remove helmet and see the back screen whether its recording or not.
Unfortunately I dont use voice control. I have it on my GoPros too, but it’s too unreliable. Especially when we talk to other motorcyclists via headsets.
When recording, I look at my front screen through my side-view mirror to confirm it’s on record mode. With no front screen, I used to use beep “on” to try and hear when the recording starts.
@@1LiterADV thank you. Did not know go pro has voice commands too. Not sure why no one talked about that
i got gopro hero 11:) its amazing
Very nice!
