With all photography comparison, in side by side you can tell a bit of difference. Outside of side by side comparison no one would ever say "don't use dji junk, you need gopro!". If you color corrected the you could easily switch back and forth and no one would notice. Thanks for the hard work Bobo! I think I'd go DJI!

Dude thank you. I was curious about that DJI camera. I couldn’t tell the difference in the clips. I loved the longer battery life and the charging station. Those make me like the DJI
I don't need an 'action' cam, but I do like to shoot on the go or even in a fixed situation. I just want easy, convenient, inexpensive, and good quality. I have a GoPro Hero 4 Silver but haven't looked in to the camera world since. This is a good comparison. Thank you B.
5.3 is kind of a gimmick right now for the vast majority of users. I get that more data ultimately "should" make for a better end product using the same export settings of 4k data, but it just isn't enough of a difference to be a deciding factor right now. I do like that there is a quality competitor (finally) to the Gopro where it feels like you are getting a better pricing situation without taking a major loss in quality. This is long overdue. I think you did a good job on the side by side regardless of white balance issues, because you can still see the detail which in the end is what you are going for. Now we just need an action camera that can shoot in log color profiles.
The difference with 5.3k is that you can shot at 8:7 factor and then crop to your liking. 16.9 or short type video and will retain the edges that you need.

Seeing this a trend on YT ALOT....we too dumped GoPro's in favor of the DJI. Are they better? Meh, maybe a toss up, but the DJI just FREAKING WORKS.....we spend more time jacking around with GoPros, trying to get them to connect, to check aim, burns battery, then the lock ups, crap battery life. Just happier with DJI, plus to shoot for IG, just flip the camera on the mag mount...boom done.
I've watched multiple dji reviews but I'm way to excited to see bobo review it.

Sony totally dropped the ball with that market, they had all the RD and camera experience to be top1.
They almost did once with sony action camera I think it's FDRX 3000? But yeah, sadly, they stopped production for many years. And worth to mention that was many years ago, I hear till today still some travel vlogers prefer that camera than new models out there, seems to have a cult status somewhat...

Okay, not that’s out of the way- a couple questions:
1: what about the superview setting on the GoPro?
2: how about durability? It is after all, an action camera.
3: finally- what about the software? One of the biggest complaints I have about most cameras is that the included editing software SUCKS… how’s the DJI stuff?

This is my first action camera purchase. I have tried the Akaso, GoPro and DJI brands.
I have heard GoPro has issues with overheating, battery life, freezing screen and files not recording. I tested the Akaso and was not impressed. I finally decided to buy the DJI action3 adventure combo which came with 3 batteries, charging case, selfie stick, case and magnetic adapters. I will add some accessories soon, some includes the SmallRig cage, DJI mic, variety of adapters. Thank you BOBO for your video

DAMN this video is AWESOME, hands down (or up) BEST video on CZcams for me, no jokes dude. This is RIGHT up my alley, you nailed this. Throwing in white balance is huge, and audio, you KNOW what you are doing and how important that is, I just got the 11 black, and went riding blankets creek wednesday, the audio is trash, garbage, wind off stereo on with foam on but not a regular full foam cover. What I HATE about Gopro is the lack of legit info on internal mics, how many, where are they, etc. my last but first back on the bike video was the 7 black, audio stereo same foam setup and no wind just quality audio

Both struggled a bit at times in the dark forest, but to be expected with a small sensor. Both looked good! The OSMO likely wins for function, Gopro slightly on IQ at 5.3k, but does it really matter? It’s CZcams. Use whichever works best for you. Fun video!
Amazing what cameras have become. I remember my backpack days with the mini camcorder, pen cam and battery pack. Watching old videos is like watching grainy 7-11 security camera footage of a robbery.

I've been using Dji cameras for a couple of years. I like the Dji cameras for a quick fun camera, I've been using the action 2 for the last year and a half. It's small and easy to use my only complaint is that it doesn't start record immediately when you turn it on

Still rocking the Hero 7 Black. Works fine for me. The GoPro does still look a tad bit better than the DJI in this video. For the price+video quality+extras the DJI wins IMO.

Yeah, image quality still goPro, but DJI wins a great deal on battery life and reliability. Hear goPro freezes, overheats and turns itself off randomly pretty often? For adventure videos, a bit compromise in image quality is a lot better than often missed recording...
I'm planning to buy Action 3 this year. My current camera is the first Osmo Action and it's still really good after many years. My friend's was a GoPro (forgot the version) and it got broken within a year. I really hope GoPro will be better in terms of durability because I was interested to it before buying the Osmo Action.
I'm getting the Osmo Action 3. I'm getting extra batteries, a battery case, rod, and two year extended coverage for $500.

Agree, I left the stress of GP bricking and short battery life for this DJI. Reilaible, more intuitive interface. what's not to like. (owned GPs and other action cams for 12+ years prior), I'm not sponsored.
I've been closely following the progression of GoPro cameras from version 1 to 11, as well as the development of DJI Action cameras from version 1 to 3. It's impressive how rapidly DJI has caught up with their advancements. Based on their swift progress, I'm inclined to purchase the upcoming DJI Action 4 camera.
Is there a release date announced for it?

I had the first rendition of the DJI action camera. I thought at first that it was better but in post edit I didn't like it as much.

While action cam footage is sometimes interesting to watch, it is the other "unnamed" camera that gives these video the pro look. I mean the sections where Bobo is in focus and the background is slightly blurred for cinematic effect. These are not coming out of actions cams... but are much more pleasant to look at, compared to "everything in focus" image of action cam.
Very interesting - I've been using my Hero 8 for my ride videos but battery life, sound, bulging batteries, and some alarming camera temps make me think about what options are out there. I usually record 2.7k 60fps - I can't tell that from 4k. Maybe if I was cropping in or something....
Go pro been out longer so neysayers are there. But couple years ago Dji put out the drone phantom that had a camera with it and gimbal. So they are in the action camera gang since. But not like a go pro camera. So both will have some pros and cons. I own all the go pros and don’t bother to jump on other brands at least yet.

How is the run time compared to the GoPro when it comes to overheating?
Thinking about ordering one of the Osmos 3s for my hunting channel to show POV or gun cam angles. Maybe I missed it but which gopro did you compare to? It has to be either the 10 or 11 with the 5k option correct?

Hard to beat the GoPro for your typical action cam videos. I do enjoy the X3 (360) camera for more interesting angles and a lot more options in post.
Yeah, I tried the insta 360, didn’t really do it for me. I like this camera, gonna use it a lot 🤘
Also if you want to use it for Snow..sadly nothing beats the GoPro

Thanks! I used the wireless mics while riding, you can plug the receiver directly into the DJI, and it works like a charm 🤘

I got the DJI a few months back, love it. The only issue is it over heats too easily guessing you didn't have that problem?
I haven’t had that issue. Been riding in pretty cool temperatures though so I guess we’ll find out this summer
If you are i Europe check some of the comments here about DJI limiting temperature at 42.
The gopro is the one without the focus problems very easy to see too.

1 question. During the scene where you back up with the mic. Are you using your own mic and recorder or the dji wireless mic right through the camera ?
The receiver connects directly to the DSLR camera and the audio is there! No syncing in post 🤘
Have you done a review of the dlsr?
Another topic might be how you go about your filming and show what it takes to get your quality. I too find filming to be a pain. Changing out batteries is a hassle. Setting up the tripop, carrying all the gear etc.
how is the DJI in low light compared to the GOPRO. I have hero 8+ and it is hard to get anything not digitized in low light
I have a hero 8 and I messed with the iso settings a ton to get it decent in lower light conditions
DJI with higher over exposure in comparison to the GoPro version, other things like bitrate recording should be considered but that is another story.

I have the DJI action 2 and it’s pretty okay I do love the mounts and the magnets for it. Pretty good stuff on the market these days.
I'm not sure about the Action 3, but the big difference between the Action 2 and the Gopro was Dynamic range. When it's bright and sunny out, the gopro would always look wayyyyy better than the DJI. But on cloudy days, the DJI looked almost just as good. And the Action 2 has a wider FOV than my Hero 9, which I absolutely love. Chin mount with the Action 2, on a cloudy day, is DREAMS! The gopro is just too heavy for the chin mount. And the Action 3 probably is as well.

I am noticing this past week a lot of these videos, DJI must be doing a big marketing push. A big issue I see with each of them is the comparison between the GoPro 10 and not the GoPro 11 which is the latest. The 11 has some game changing features that really need to be compared against. having the 8x7 sensor and the ability to reframe that 8x7 into 16x9 or 9x16 is really great. Also the sound difference with the 11 is very impressive.
yeah, bought mine last week. It overheats after 8 minutes of recording in 4k60 at 18 degrees Celsius ambient temp. These sponsored reviews are full of shit unfortunately.
Edit: @TheBigGoose Adventures I have to correct my comment. My camera overheats quickly, because I am in the EU. There is a regulation that forces DJI to turn the camera off after getting to 42 degrees Celsius. There is a workaround though, you place a specific crack file on the SD which makes it work. just google: "DJI Action 3 Crack File". If youve placed it on the SD you can now record as long as everyone else.
Lol I think it’s the CZcams algorithm. Once you watch one video next thing you know it’s not stop showing you the same types of videos…lol

Yeah I agree, seen so many videos in the last weeks although the release of the cameras was 2022 and there were already tons of videos. DJI did some firmware upgrades so maybe thats why they push it now but if these DJI sponsored tests are all legit, I dont know...

Did you notice any of the focusing issues that I have seen videos about recently?
@3:00 you do not use 4k vs 5k for static non-zoomed shots. 5K shines when you are cropping the frame. Instead of ending up with low quality 720p looking footage, you can still get decent 1080 quality for example. I would never use 5K if I were not going to crop in post.

DJI is good. Cheaper, more equipement, better battery... but, GoPro is superior in video/photo quality. I bet that you will continue to use GoPro for your videos, not DJI.
I was given a GoPro9 when they came out and it's still there in the unopen shrink warped box. I'm too busy riding to fart about setting up and filming.
DJI had been making great cameras for years with their drones. Doesn’t surprise me the action camera does a great job.
GoPro protune is still better but I fkn hate GoPro for their reliability. Great review BOBO!

The DJI is my choice, but as it's sold out everywhere, I'll just wait for the Osmo 4 as I'm not willing to fight with the overheating and complete shut-downs that many GoPro's are plagued with. Hopefully, the Osmo Action 4 won't have the awful focussing issues that so many users are battling.

I didnt notice it much in your videos but I often see skiers using ultra-wide fisheye lenses which overly distorts the outer frame and make it almost nausiating to watch, whereas I would rather watch a narrower perspective with a true-view

I really only saw the difference in the colors. I know that you said that you didn’t set it up right but, that means that the color is set right for the DJI right out of the box. Idk if you did some fooling around with the color on the GoPro. The price being cheaper I’m something that I couldn’t see $100 dollar difference in the picture

The only reason I think I will be going with the GoPro is that DJI don't have any underwater domes available for half and half shots in the sea. :/

Aside from all the great features found on the DJI the GoPro still has a sharper, more detailed cleaner image.

I’d love to hear how the DJI goes on very hot and very cold days as it’s not uncommon for the GoPro to struggle in those conditions.
According to DJI’s site, the Osmos 3 operates from -4° to 100°+

I had several GoPro 10s but all of them overheated after max 25 mins on whatever resolution, so it was quite a dissapointment. If DJI does not have the overheating issue, they have my money.
Dude com‘mon … you can’t compare frame rates and 4k to 5k when your exporting your video to CZcams only in 4k and at 30fps. Whatever the camera shot has been changed by your export..
Bobo sitting here acting like the Insta360 One-R never existed. Maybe because DJI is promoting and doesn't want you to compare it against the new Insta360 One-RS... 🤔 The 1" sensor will blow these away.

tbf you can adjust the ISO and settings to make it less grainy.
and here it is hero 10 , not 11, not big difference, but it is. Mostly in worse situations dji is more grainy (underwater for example).
I think if creators put camera to camera at least make the cameras about the same.
