  • Intratec built some interesting guns in the 80s and 90s, but I needed to make this one a little more interesting with a SITES Spectre style front end makeover.

    I had one prior to the 1994 AW Ban. I don't recall ever having many problems or jams of any kind. I wanted to make a holster for it in those pre-kydex days. The front sight looked like a nail with the head filed off, regardless, mine was pretty accurate. Oh for a red dot! I liked it: it was fun! But when Diane Feinstein declared this pistol to be Eeeviiillll!!! I had to get rid of it. I can't abide by Eeeviiilll!!! in my house...so I traded it in on a Mossberg 12g riot gun. I recently found the user manual for it though.

    Something I just learn not to long agin is that the main ejector is actually on the feed lip of the magazine on guns that use Ruger 10/22 mags. The one you are referring to is actually a secondary ejector. Its more or less there so if the mag fits loose like you where showing and lets the main ejector fall out of alignment with the bolt you still have something as a back up to kick the case out.This why that you don't have a consistent ejection pattern with guns that run on 10/22 mags because with every mag you have a different ejector. That makes me wonder if using the wrong mags in this particular gun is letting the main ejector not do is job and rely only on the secondary which in return makes it fail over time.

    • @booliganshootingsports
      @booliganshootingsports  Před 2 lety

      Because most home casting methods require expensive and bulky equipment, dangerous heats, and result in a part that generally isn’t in spec and still would require extensive machine work to be functional.
      Existing 3D printed frames and receivers last for thousands of rounds. They’re more than good enough.

    10/10 for a really nice piece 👍👍👍👍
    3/10 for misuse of the word 'simplistic'... 🙈🙈🙈🙈 'Simple' would have been correct in this usage, as you are indeed talking about something which *is* simple, and uncomplicated, not simplistic, which according to Merriam-Webster: excessively simple or simplified : *treating a problem or subject with false simplicity by omitting or ignoring complicating factors or details*
    Another gun where the firing control group is a masterclass in simplicity, is the PPS-43 😍😍😍😍 Now *that* , is a gun which I would *love* to re-engineer and build to suit my personal preferences, and, as my father was a tool-maker before he retired, growing up, I got an early apprenticeship in machining, but, sadly, I don't have access to a machine shop where I am 😫😫😫😫 (Nor the ability to keep and bear arms, being in the UK 😫😫😫😫 ) But, if I had access to a machine shop, that would be *such* a fun project 🙏🙏🙏🙏😍😍😍😍
    Sorry for being a Grammar Nartsee, but that really jarred when I heard it... 🙈🙈🙈🙈 Excellent build, shoot it in good health, and keep up the great work, amigo 👍👍👍👍
    PS Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 = Unconstitutional... 'Shall not be infringed' means precisely that... And, despite DementiaBoy's talk of blown out lungs, and people not being allowed cannons when the Constitution was written, historical fact is that people *were* allowed them... That recent Supreme Court ruling, I think, will eventually see all those attempts to impinge on gun-owner's rights, under the sickening guise of concern for safety, be walked back 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Mass-shootings in 'gun-free zones' etc, continues to prove the uselessness of such measures, because no matter how many rules, regulations and laws they bring into effect, law-breakers will never abide by them anyway. I just wish they would drop the pretence about being concerned for people's lives and well-being... I'd almost respect them more, if they just said "We don't think anyone should have guns, and we're going to do everything we can to stop people having them..." At least it would be honest... 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ On the other hand, this does serve to prove that any kind of appeasement behavior, is nothing more than death by a thousand cuts, and should thus never be engaged with... #MolonLabe

  • @nutbastard
    @nutbastard Před 2 lety +4

    Does no one make a metal ejector for this thing? Seems a pretty easy fix. I suppose there just isn't a market that can justify the tooling.
    Also just from a pure sort of cyberpunk aesthetic, this thing is gorgeous. The banana mag, the square design, I'm in love.
    As for the magazine, 10/22's all have sloppy mag wells and with my experience in shimming them to tighten things up, they're actually more reliable with the slop for whatever reason. All I know is tightening them up does not improve performance and makes insertion and removal more obnoxious - a proper 10/22 will drop an empty BX-25 from gravity alone.
    If you tighten it up with shims, the mags won't reliably drop free, which to me is not worth it the tradeoff.
    Still... I'd love to have one of these, even if that meant spending a day with micrometers and a file making a clone of the ejector out of proper steel.
