I noticed this. I think there's just a particular vibe of positivity and love with special effects/stunt/CGI people which is honestly the main reason Corridor content is so popular. Even when they're at their most competitive, there's never a malicious spirit where they want each other to fail.

Humbleness would be the best thing Jackie would bring to the show, being an absolute MASTER of his craft talking about other people's work like "dude, that's so hard"

You need to have Max Huang on your show, he’s been a member of Jackie Chan’s stunt team for about 15 years, and plays Kung Lao in the new mortal kombat movie, he also made his own short film called no way out and I’ve seen one of the fight scenes and it is absolutely incredible

"Jimmy's uncle Corey Yuen" is one of the foremost martial arts choreographers around. He did the fights for the _Transporter_ films, plenty of Jet Li films, and many, many others.
He was also an actor himself
Cory Yuen is easily one of my favorite Fight Choreographers. Granted alot of the Hong Kong action guys are really good with Choreography. Donnie Yen does alot of the choreography on his movies if I recall.
Oh, the fights were pretty much the only good thing in The Transporter!
Who did Yamakasi and District 13?
@@ahmedamine24 On _Yamakasi_ Patrick Cauderlier was the stunt coordinator (he also did _The Crimson Rivers, Belphégor, Amélie, Bluebery, Asterix 3 & 4_ etc), but I'm sure the yamakasis themselves had plenty of input on the parkour scenes.
Cyril Raffaelli was the fight choreographer on the two _District 13_ films, in addition to being co-lead. Frédéric Vallet ( _Crimson Rivers 2, Witnesses, Versailles_ etc) was stunt coordinator on the first one and Cauderlier on the second, with again, I'm sure, plenty of input from David Belle.
For _Brick Mansions_ the stunt coordinator was Alexandre Cadieux (who did the _Assassin's Creed Origins_ and _Far Cry New Dawn_ video games' stunts).

When I was in film school both our cinematography and stunt courses stressed the 180 degree rule so often and they did what was said here, if you HAVE to cross the line, insert a transitional scene that explains the jump and would even express (in cinematography) storyboarding them out, whether it was a fight scene or even dialogue scene...

The 140 take thing was just a joke. It was closer to 7 or 8, everything was either magnetic or sticky I can't remember. The 140 joke came from the director commentary. When that shot came by he said "Aaaand, take 147..." So it was just a fun joke
Re-watching this, Amy is awesome, and she does Silat? Amazing. And Clint is a sweetheart, and with Nico, if this was without covid, if would have felt like a hug. I think I've watched Amy's parking garage scene like 10 times.

That Matrix dojo scene is made even more badass when you realize that Keanu had just been in an accident and had a neck brace at this time. He took it off for filming. They reduced the number of kicks to avoid him hurting himself.
Ye he’d undergone surgery to fuse parts of his spine a few months before filming which is crazy. He’s a warrior
You can see him in the neck brace even during this episode.
He wasn't supposed to be kicking. That's why when he does, his legs are so stiff looking. It put so much strain on his back.

About the Toby Maguire cafeteria tray scene, I actually think it's not sticky stuff, but magnets. If you look at the bowl falling down on the milk carton, it moves very quick from landing on the right side of the carton to centered on it, and stops immediately.
That's just how magnets work.
I suspect in the spiderman scene that the tray has a metal backing and the items have powerful magnets in them. That would explain the sudden stickiness and why the jello bowl suddenly snaps left and stops.

Technically yes but they would've gone to school with each other half a century ago at this point. It's pretty unlikely they would've still kept in touch. I only talk to like 5 people from high school after graduating 8 years ago. Bet that number drops even more with celebrities.

For anyone who didnt know. Keanu had just gotten Surgery on his neck and was even wearing one of them braces and was still training and doing these moves. He even hurt himself a few times doing them because of his healing injury. The guy is a total pro! Which might be why he was grabbing the wires also.
Also in terms of why Fight scenes with jackie chan look so good and fluid its because American films tend to cut scenes as Clint said. But asain films tend to do the opposite and really show the actors doing the stunts and moves in one take. Jackie Chan has a video talking about it too.
Yeah, he had a neck fusion done and let me tell you, I had my back fused last year and it's no joke. That takes like a year to heal up and they keep telling you "Do NOT twist or bend! Don't do impact sports, don't kick or overexert yourself. Take it easy and heal up." And of course Keanu is like "I'm gonna learn Kung Fu and do a bunch of kicks!"
The man is a beast.

in the choreography of the matrix scene, you can see how much neo is enjoying himself with the I LEARNT KARATE THIS IS SO COOL! and is doing extra kicks and flips
I had the pleasure of meeting Jackie Chan on the set of The Tuxedo. This particular scene was filmed in a University sports arena in Bangkok, Thailand. I'd previously worked on the VFX on a film with the property master of the Tuxedo so managed to gain access to the set. We stood to the side while Jackie set up the shot. Little did we know, we were standing in front of the lighting so my childhood hero's first words to me were. "Hey, you! Go away! Go away!" lol We then had to hide behind a large desk while they filmed the shot (which made it to the final cut) and eventually got to meet him. I had a great suggestion for him that would be amazing to see - I was going to suggest that he made a film together with Jet Li (as he hadn't at the time). What did I actually say? "Hello, Jackie... ...you're my hero." (cringe) "Oh. thank you!" was his reply lol
I feel like Jackie Chan is the kind of cool laid back guy who would actually agree to come be on a youtube show if he heard about it and liked the idea.

Honestly it kind of adds to the slightly surreal vibe that Matrix had, it’s a similar flavor to the bullet time and slo-mo stuff.
Neo is someone entering the system and breaking the rules, I kind of like the meta-idea there.

The guy is a legend of Hong Kong action cinema, has done tons of cool movies as a director/ fight choreographer, incl. the first 2 X-Men, Lethal Weapon 4, Kiss of the Dragon, The Transporter, No Retreat No Surrender and what not.

Yes, please! Ask him to come. Corey Yuen is one of the legendary directors in HK.
This 100%. Have Clint pull that phone back out of his fanny pack and see if he can convince Jimmy to get his uncle to come on the show the next time he's in the LA area. Even if he needs a translator/subtitles, that extra effort is worth it since he has S tier knowledge and probably knows about a bunch of amazing clips from Hong Kong cinema we've never seen before.
Dead or Alive (2006) is also under Corey Yuen's belt. He is also the action choreographer for Jet Li's The One (2001)

After seeing most of Corridor Crew's stunt reacts and them actually learning some stunts, I can't stop noticing the basic stunt falls in movies and shows 😂😳 can't wait to see Niko one day as a stunt double 😂

When you were talking about jumping the line, that reminded me of a movie that I like, A Knight's Tale, but they were really bad about jumping the line during the joist scenes, which made them very visually confusing.
The spiderman scene is cut, you can see the last bowl with jello jump into place. The others are a lot more subtle but each item is caught then frozen into place.
Stuntwomen have it so much tougher because their characters are barely wearing clothes usually so padding up is not an option. So much respect for stuntwomen

As someone who grew up on 80s (and 70s) martial arts films, and as a formerly avid reader of "BLACK BELT" magazine (especially during my foray into martial arts training), I am more than a little disappointed that you guys didn't call out Cynthia Rothrock by name when discussing the Corey Yuen film (titles vary)! She was on of the premier female martial artists of the 80s!!

There are some great film channels out there like Every Frame A Painting, Now You See It, Like Stories of Old, Lessons From the Screenplay, etc.! They all have incredible videos breaking down shots, angles, themes, cameras, scripts, and more. Some of the best channels on CZcams IMO.

Amy and Gui are the two stunt people I get legit excited to see in the intro. I like the others they work with, don't get me wrong, but whenever Amy or Gui are on I know we're in for something special.
