@@biguglybucker i prefer ttr's lack of membership and ability to profit over loading up my old nostalgic toon, if disney renewed the contract they abandoned for club penguin. and if we could have the OG game, lots of things would have changed in the community. people wont be anymore drawn to tto than ttr, since ttr has (imo) provided more updates and has more to offer than TTO did, other than nostalgia and a constant hope for cognation. TTO had a much larger population, and you can argue that TTR's inability to advertise is what hurts this; but in reality, there are a lot more games that do things TTO also did.

Watch some videos of it on CZcams, or interact with communities live on platforms like Twitch. This community has been and continues to be a really welcoming and awesome part of my life over the years. I HIGHLY recommend Toontown Corporate Clash. I've been in the Toontown community for quite a bit as of now, and I can safely say that Clash is definitely one of the better versions. The original toontown, much like it's revival Toontown Rewritten, is extremely grindy. Im not saying thats bad, however, if you want a Toontown experience whilst not dedicating years or months of your life to it, then I would say Corporate Clash is the better option. It adds a new gag track, revamped lawbot, new progression systems, new gags itself, new playgrounds, side-quests and story, and much much more while still being not as "grindy" as the original.
If you prefer Rewritten because it's more "original", then go for it, by all means. I'm just saying that Corporate Clash is a refreshing take on the game for people who want a more modern take on Toontown while still keeping its wonder it had in 2012.

I kinda hope it doesn’t make an official return tbh, if Disney is actively using the brand again then all the fan servers will be shut down. Then we’ll either have no way to play the original game or we’ll have the original version without the fan improvements and with membership charges.

Toontown was also a big part of my childhood, and despite me being enough of a fan to know most everything present in these sort of videos, well, it's nice to hear people talk about it even to this day. Yes, the community is nowhere near the size it was back in 2013, but the current fans are so tight knit that even I, a person that doesn't play as much as they used to, still frequently interact with the community and friends i've made along the way.
Toontown has been so important to my life, in so many ways. If I never had played it, who knows where I'd be today. I have a theory that the creators of Toontown wanted to make a message teaching what corporate corruption is to kids so that they were aware of Disney’s business practices as they grew up. Maybe they saw something within Disney that inspired them to basically mock what they are while using their IPs at the same time. Hence why it wasn’t as successful and closed down.

I've played Toontown for as long as I can remember. As a 7 year old the "search for bbhq" was the coolest thing ever! It was so sad to watch the updates get farther and farther apart and slowly watch Disney stop caring. Remember the "hackers" infesting the game around 2011?
The original scramble by the fandom to create the best fan server was insane! from the original drama between rewritten vs infinite and then the collapse of the infinite team. The period from 2013-2015 was some of the most exciting times to be playing the game from rewritten, infinite, Toontown house, operation dessert storm, project atlas aka corporate clash. I still miss my squad of friends from tto. TTO was intregal to my childhood/teenage years. As long as there's still toontown servers I'll always be there.

A Disney sponsored ToonTown comeback would be the worst possible scenario.
That would most likely mean cease and desists for both toontown rewritten and corporate clash. They would no longer be harmless fangames on a property that Disney no longer makes money off of, but completely free competition diminishing Disney's userbase.
I also believe that TTR/CC are a lot better than what Disney could make. Sure, a bunch of fans working for free on a passion project don't have anywhere close to the resources of one of the biggest companies in the world, but what they lack in resources they make up in two things: Passion, and a lack of ulterior motives (financial incentive). A Disney sponsored toontown would exist primarily to make money. Every update, every feature, will be judged not by whether or not it has enough passion, or whether or not the fanbase will like it, but instead whether or not it will make money, whether or not they can make good advertisements of it. In practical terms, I guarantee this means a shitty microtransaction and lootbox riden hell. Meanwhile, ttr/cc's decisions are driven entirely by what they believe the community wants, and what they believe would make for a good game. In a way, the original toontown online being shut down was the best thing that could happen to the game.
