Quoting my friend here, school is really just a social experiment that has been going of for years now. They teach you math, science, etc, but in all honesty what they are teaching you is how to socially interact with people. That's why we are seeing all these speech and public speaking classes popping up more frequently.

Also, just because we haven't experienced worse treatment doesn't mean we're spoiled, or copying other youtubers. It's called an opinion.
In my opinion, as well as other peoples', school is kinda stupid.
Heck, by claiming that you studied what schools would teach in weeks in only one day just makes school look even worse.
I mean, if the *entire point of school* is to *educate your kid* and help them learn useful information for the near future, I don't think they would be purposefully not teaching well if they want to educate everyone. Not just the smart kids.
Yeah, I'm starting to realize that school doesn't help me much in my life. It's all about getting grades not learning anything. I don't want a job working at a company and can see I am perfectly capable of working for myself if I would like to. I just need to get through school because I have to I guess, no other reason really. (Only thing school is good for is meeting friends imo)

Chremnomical AndrophonomaniCat They manipulate kids into thinking they must follow orders for the rest of their lifes. Nobody wants to deal with schools bs but they have to if they want to get a year closer to complete freedom, but then again stripping most of your childhood away. Not to mention they cram unnecessary subjects down everyone's throat, and the trendy students who think they're all that because they wear Adidas or Jordan's, blast trap music, and act like complete assholes. Overall, I've learned little in school, and have learned so much more from youtube, Google, fun to watch documentarys, etc., and best of all, you don't get graded!
I live in the good old UK, so I don't know much about the American educational system and I have to admit, we are dealing with the same shit, working 7 hours a day only to have to take work home with us to prepare us to spew it all out again on a large stack of papers. The only thing I learn from school is during the end of primary school (from about 4 to 11 years old you would be in primary school over here) was maths, I have learned nothing from 2 and a quarter years in math apart from finding the area and circumference of a circle. We also have to learn another language, I am horrible yet still expected to do good with a bad teacher.

This is all 100% true and I agree with all of it. I'm not bad at school, and I think I'm doing ok on my way to become a programmer/engineer (don't know which yet cuz high school), but the homework I get every single day just prevents me from doing anything at all (my extreme procrastination doesn't help).

Einstein had dyslexia, he dropped out because school is designed to make (for lack of a better word) learning conditioned children prevented from reaching their full potential, which only further proves your point.

My teacher said we needed to do a "class" project. So we all worked together and we all ended with a really good answer. So when we all came back on Monday HE GAVE US A FREAKING 0 BECAUSE WE ALL HAD THE "SAME" ANSWER. BUT HE SAID IT WAS A CLASS PROJECT SO WE NEEDED TO END UP WITH SIMILAR ANSWERS. so basically we all got fs that day. But luckily some parents got "Involved" and "Persuaded" the teacher to give us all 100s. But he also got fired because he was getting too much close to his females students... And we all got perfect scores in that class at the end of the year as the schools "apology" so... Freshman year was pretty good. :3

Students aren't the problem, if you can't teach in a interesting, fun way, school feels like a brick wall, the same pattern, nothing new. At least that's what I think

The this is is that its really hard to give tests that go with how a person thinks. Not to mention that if you could, people that are better at school would generally have a harder time in it... which would just encourage them to get worse. It's like that one expirement where everyone gets the same grade in a college class and eventually everyone just does nothing because if they're below average, they don't have to try as hard to get a better grade than they should've.

Most jobs are going to educate you anyways so you really just need the basic skills...
We need 9 in Latvia (basically middle school) but if you want to work something else than blue-collar jobs then you have to finish a professional high-school or at least a regular high-school/gymnasium, if not a university.

Good video, I subscribed, good to see people putting effort in their videos and not caring about statistics.
My complete honest opinion on school: Its fucking awful. It makes me feel bored and dumb. Sure i have good friends, fun projects fun trips and cool teachers but it FORCES me to do pointless tests, dumb work and boring homework. It feels like child abuse. Kindergarten is tensing us with how easy everything is. I learned more from videos then school. You know how school is like: treat others how you want to be treated well school is throwing work at us nonstop so school wants us to give them 50000 pieces of work? Give me one good reason why i should do my homework instead of ENJOYING MY SHORT LIFE. School thinks if you send them home your learn your lesson but to me it sounds like a reward. Sometimes i literally watch the clock hoping it would make time go quicker. It feels like a fucking prison. Just because you don't have a A+ on every subject it does not mean you don't know your abc's. School: Stand up to bully's! Me: Yeah i will stand up to there punch and get knocked in the face. I barely get any sleep a day i get 1 hour at most because i need to do my homework, do my eassy, check my homework, check my eassy, play video game, try to fall asleep, give up trying to sleep... and its morning. Everything i thought that would be fun was just something i was being force to do. EQAO i understand the point of it but just call it: " The most stressful thing in your life" cause i could barely breathe. Sometimes i ask myself what do i have worth living i probably though about killing myself 50 times. School mind: WORK WORK WORK WORK TEST TEST TEST TEST MUST MAKE THEIR BRAINS BURN

God, I’m so emotional, I almost cried during the end for some reason, I don’t like school either. I’m only half way done. I’m only in 6th grade! I suck at school and I keep getting more and more discouraged by it every day, but this video changed that. You’re right. I shouldn’t let school control my emotions. I should be me. Focus on the positives, what I’m GOOD at. You made me realize that. Thank you. I’m very emotional (it’s a disorder) and the littlest things can make me angry or sad. However, this video has really helped me realize that I can keep going. I just have to stay positive, stay patient, and above all. I have to be willing to try. I love all the teachers who tell stories and go off topic.
i've always been pretty good at my english and writing classes, while my math and science classes haven't been really my cup of tea. after a lot of thinking, i want to get into storytelling and animation and i wish schools offered those kinds of classes more often,,, they even screwed me over and put me into a science class i wasn't ready for and i straight up failed that class this year :/
with the whole online classes thing going on, i guess getting through the other classes are a bit easier but also a lot harder considering it's difficult to be told what the assignment is about in the usual lectures and how the school i go to works,,
i really wish that the whole system would be reworked at some time soon and school will actually be enjoyable and beneficial (and even lower s*icide rates in some places based on how some schools enfource the whole "you're a failure" thing with certain subjects)

By the way ,when you mentioned early education, it reminded me of something I overheard on the radio. Texas (where I live) wanted preschool to have the same hours as high schoolers.
If I spent a few hours on google I could learn what I could learn in a year in school in those few hours. And I've done this too, when I was in 5th grade, I downloaded an Algebra app, I didn't know at the time but I had mastered 2 step equations, something I learned over a year later.

A pretty big problem with the education system is that indeed what you also said in the video the same. Some students need a different type of education, mostly in primary school, they say if your "smart" or not depending on if your scoring good grates, but some people are smart in different ways and should get a different type of education, since it may be better for them. The education system really needs a lot of improvement and I hope it will be improved in the future.
I just recently got into a STEM school and it’s really innovative. We do a lot of collaboration activities. Also the teachers are extremely nice and fair. Two teachers have already told me that I’m going to change the world and later in my life, I hope to.

I’m so glad I’m out of school. Although I had plenty of good times and met some good friends, it was mostly crap and a waste of time. Screw the school education system. Also, that part about waking up and classes moving at a snail’s pace is so relatable. One time some guy took an office chair from upstairs and flew through the main hall and out and down the Main Street 😂 so that was fun
English/History teachers are the teachers who talk off topic most of the time and "shhh's" you when you're interrupting their 15 minute story

Ok I'm not gonna rant about school being important **couoigh cough** *like 90% of the comments in here* **cough cough** but I think this dude is dead right I mean honestly all subjects are important but cmon now. School itself should only go up to maybe 5 the grade, and within those 6 years (not leaving out a year kindergarten) we would learn everything thats essential and not y'know...the square root of 9 divided by 12 multiplied by 275. That way we could spend the rest of our lives living. We were given a chance to live a 1 out of thousands of chances for other Kids, and were sitting inside of school buildings, being intimidated by useless projects and countless hand written essays. Along with deadlines we just wish would stay away. So yea school basically has no value and most things about life we could learn from just living it.
