      Our Set up is under an open shed, so wind direction moves most of the dust...... sometimes at you sometimes away from you..The only time our bale count per hour was slow was when we used a Bale Bandit..... Being as the Bale Baron builds from the bottom and the Bale Bandit from the top.. the Baron is more consistant and less prone to rough up the bales.......causing jams.......

    I tried rebaling 3 winters ago.. that was all I needed to give it up.. I was buying hay to rebale and could never find hay put up well enough where it worked really well.. like you too many clumps = lots of shear pins.. after all was said and done just couldn't get it to pencil.. hopefully your math is better.. sold my unroller to someone who wanted to get into rebaling and I won't do it again..for the few i was making I'm better off planting more hay, baling it correctly from the beginning and using my winters/rainy days to prep for next season and make sure all my equipment is ready.. best of luck.. My son and I tried rebaling 2 round bales January 28th. We unrolled by hand and it was miserably dusty. We always estimated 20-22 square bales per round. We got 21, 55 # bales per round bale, which is nice to know. I just purchased a 575 and wanted to try it out. Worked pretty good. Easier to unroll straw or hay? Those cores are such a pain, sometimes we just throw them off to the side until the end. Shearing pins just takes so much time!
    We are trying to incorporate some kind of 'fluffing', I feel like that helps quite a bit. I would think those two drums would tear apart the hay a lot more before going into the bale pick up. We got the SL360X with the chains and let it fall onto a conveyor into our baler. Hopefully breaks it a part a little more than just feeding it directly into the baler. Great Video Dennis! That 360 camera sure does come in handy

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  Před rokem +1

      Thanks! It really depends on the bales more than the material I’ve had good hay bales that feed like a dream and I’ve had some hay that is terrible and same with the straw. I had baled some straw a couple years ago and those bales feed like a dream then I got into some that someone else baled and when I would cut the net off the whole bottom of the bale would fall off the spear, those are a nightmare to feed, mostly pitchforking then.

      @@DLHFarms Cool maybe you can make a video . I wonder if it will work on 12 bales flat without a tie-grabber grapple

    Why don’t you have the tractor outside so it’s not so dusty set up on the other side of the barn. Rebaleing sucks that’s for sure but without help it’s a necessary evil

      The other side of the barn was full of round bales at the time I set up. It had to be where it is then. Now I could move it since the hay has been moved but it’s a lot of work to take down and set up

      Way more money in squares for one and also need the squares to fill orders for squares.
