The cows are sure liking that job, kind of a moo-ving experience. Your cows were also watching you when you were playing with Strawberry Cheesecake at home. Nice to have an audience that doesn't criticize your work. As for the turtle, he's just hoping you make it snappy!
Looking up to the right from the soft spot at the fence, you can see it's actually at the bottom of a pretty wide natural swale, hence the soggy ground.
Awesome video Chris, cool to see you an big John back in a pond working, you guys know you're stuff when it comes to ponds that's for sure, you do dang good work, proof is in the pudding, thanks for sharing an look forward to seeing the next video 💪🇺🇸
That is when you need a whole lot of mats and build a wooden highway. Find an old pipeline that is complete and they often give them away for anyone who will haul them.
If I had the money I would go get my own excavation machines like these and start a business a lot of money can be made in this kind of work. This guy is so skilled at his machine. Really inspiring!
After rough start to my project due to wet clay I had here in Montana today, unfortunately this video brings me comfort knowing even the best get sidelined from time to time due to extenuating circumstances. Thanks!
How IT Feels to be THE Best Operater ON YOUTube. IT IS Amazing. I wish I could Afford ONE OF your Cap, I wear it Proudly. I don't Miss A SINGLE ONE OF your Videos. Keep Doing what you Doing.
Cows are curious. I’ve had more than a few bovine supervisors over the years, especially when fixing fences and working pastures. I’ve found them to be pretty friendly too. I enjoy watching your work. You are very creative.
Looks like it's time to get one of those LD18 AMI rotating bucket setups for the 250 like you have on your personal machine. Would have been perfect for the front face of the dam.
Pond dam dam and what you have dug looks awesome as always Chris! I always like watching the 250 and haul truck work, that huge bucket does some digging! Thanks for sharing, another good video brother! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
When you said "...Off To A Rough Start" I thought 'Oh no!..What broke down now? Or did something slide off the damn and go swimming?' Nope.... 3/4 of the way through the video,...the truck decided to go slipping and a sliding like a kid with a snowboard at a ski slope! I bet the cows enjoyed the show.
Grace and peace to you and your family. You make operating an excavator look..”easy “; So when you say it’s “hard to do”… I completely believe it’s borderline impossible for us to imagine. I have total respect for your skill. ✝️
The enormous satisfaction one gets when watching workers who know exactly what it is they are doing. I enjoy immensely your videos keep making them although it is I know the time it takes to edit and upload them that adds to your day but all the same just bloody brilliant.
I follow a couple who built a house out of shipping containers. It is in TX and has a nice (now) pond on it but it was so green you could've about walked across it on the algae. They installed an aerator on it and hooked it up to a solar panel and after a couple days, it was clear as can be. If your cows will be drinking this maybe you should do that too? But then I fell way behind on your videos so who knows, by now you may have figured it out yourself. lol Back to my binge watching. I only have 167 more to get to where you are now.
The sounds of the 250 crushing stumps in the morning, music to my ears. Big John want's to use his body to take care of problems then Chris use's the excavator to take car of the issue.
You are a great operator for sure. that place reminds me of a farm we worked on between Wilson and Clayton years ago nice place, its a lot different than here along the cost,
Chris, good video! the last wet pond clean out I did was kinda like that. I have an old tandum dump truck that I use off road and the guy driving it got stuck so many times and even backed into the front of my service truck. Hell of a mess! 😀
Good to see Uncle John. Hopefully he's fully recovered from the operation by now. Might be a good idea for the owner of the pond to get a solar power water pump and aerator... could help keep the water clearer and get rid of that nasty algae. HAB's, cyanobacteria, can kill cattle.
What a beautiful day you had. That pond might be classified as a bio hazard because cows do not have good manners. :) Love your open line "my favourite audience".😄
Fun job…pond reminds me of Mississippi ponds….green with turtles. I thought you were going to take camera out grading with dozer but it made it. Nice work.
Don't let cows in the pond... Pump water to water troughs at least 50 ft from the pond. Cattle especially will destroy a pond. Cheap 12 v pump and solar system can keep a lot of cattle supplied with water.
I would say look into getting a Volvo long boom arm for when you need it. They aren't too difficult to change out. I'd also recommend a forestry cage on your Volvo.
Something gives me a sneaking suspicion that soft spot used to be part of the pond. You did say it was 60-70 years old. That's a lot of years of silting.
Cattle selectively trample the dam wall to destroy the dam. To protect my dams I put a hot(electric) fence along the wall to force the cattle to drink from the side where they can't destroy the dam.
Was a little rough going there wasn't it !! lolol... But, nothing ever really goes as planned anyway, ya know it ?? lolol... Great as always Chris, Have a Great Evening , and, On too the Next !!
"AND, my kinda spectators.".......as the camera pans to the cow pen........what a Director! 👍😎
It's always good when the Moo Crew takes an interest :D
Great mooovie.
Moooovvellous video .
The cows are sure liking that job, kind of a moo-ving experience. Your cows were also watching you when you were playing with Strawberry Cheesecake at home. Nice to have an audience that doesn't criticize your work. As for the turtle, he's just hoping you make it snappy!
Cattle will always ensure one has work to do especially when is comes to water storage. Rough job for sure. Yes, pretty and well maintained country.
I could not believe the ruts from the haul truck Thanks for sharing Chris 👍
Chris great video! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
This looks like a good job. No trees to remove first (except dead ones on dam). Cant wait to see finished.
The pond master strikes again, looking good Chris. More mud pies!! Graham🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
Good morning @Graham Allen
Looking up to the right from the soft spot at the fence, you can see it's actually at the bottom of a pretty wide natural swale, hence the soggy ground.
I had similar spectators on a recent project - a small herd of elk took a particular interest in what I was doing.
As you are saying to 250 has the power, You can hear it crunching the stump. Love it!!
Awesome video Chris, cool to see you an big John back in a pond working, you guys know you're stuff when it comes to ponds that's for sure, you do dang good work, proof is in the pudding, thanks for sharing an look forward to seeing the next video 💪🇺🇸
How are you @derrickMegan Pettit
I always enjoy seeing big John out there getting done 👍
Them ol snappers going to be happy as a clam you are digging out their pond...
Great job. Looking forward to Part 2
Such a beautiful sound when those stumps come out of the ground.
I'm right there with u buddy j would love to have my own business
Damn that pond is so full of algea I bet someone to swing in that
Good morning another job well done as usual Have a great day God bless
I am thoroughly impressed the dozer made it thru the face of the dam w/o slipping into the pond.
After rough start to my project due to wet clay I had here in Montana today, unfortunately this video brings me comfort knowing even the best get sidelined from time to time due to extenuating circumstances. Thanks!
Day off watching on the big screen love the videos and the amount you work keep it up 👍 thanks from mike in Truro Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦

It’s fun to watch a professional work.
Cows are curious. I’ve had more than a few bovine supervisors over the years, especially when fixing fences and working pastures. I’ve found them to be pretty friendly too.
I enjoy watching your work. You are very creative.
Always curious. We had hand reared heifers that would walk up behind you and stick their heads under your arm to see what you were doing.
I wouldn’t swim in that pond either, looks like coolant!
Yup, straight up antifreeze !
Wow.. that equipment weighs quite a bit so to see it pitch you down when you grab a stump shows just how well rooted trees are. Great operator btw
You really know your trees my friend.
Looks like it's time to get one of those LD18 AMI rotating bucket setups for the 250 like you have on your personal machine. Would have been perfect for the front face of the dam.
Good morning@beardyeighty
Nice work today Chris. Sweet Smooth and Classy.
Awesome job I can hardly wait to see part 2
I love that you are talking more and we can hear you!!! Good direction on the mike!
Pond is looking great Chris. You had a good plan with the dam. Looks super.
Pond dam dam and what you have dug looks awesome as always Chris! I always like watching the 250 and haul truck work, that huge bucket does some digging! Thanks for sharing, another good video brother! 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Thanks Chris, good job. I remember the other job where haul truck kept getting stuck. Ugh,
Grace and peace to you and your family.
You make operating an excavator look..”easy “; So when you say it’s “hard to do”… I completely believe it’s borderline impossible for us to imagine. I have total respect for your skill. ✝️
Alot of work done in one day nice job men 😎👍👍
You know your in there when you drag the diffs on the haul truck in the mud.
The 220 is nice and all, but I really enjoy watching you work that 2Fiddy!
My little girl and I love watching you work! Keep up the good work
Well that is right up the Pond Doctor alley, looks awesome Chris
Every job is a new adventure
The enormous satisfaction one gets when watching workers who know exactly what it is they are doing. I enjoy immensely your videos keep making them although it is I know the time it takes to edit and upload them that adds to your day but all the same just bloody brilliant.
My guess is that the rain runs down into the pond creating some soggy nasty soil plus the cow crap adds to the softness
Should put a field tile line through the wet area, will get the water to the pond and dry up that area of the pasture.
Ol mr turtle 🐢 is gonna love you when you are done with his home. Bigger is better
Great video!!! You need to convince John to purchase one of the AMI tilt buckets for his machine.
I follow a couple who built a house out of shipping containers. It is in TX and has a nice (now) pond on it but it was so green you could've about walked across it on the algae. Man that’s a nice looking Heard of Herefords. 🇺🇸🤜🏽🤛🏻🇺🇸
Hello Chris, We are Volvo FAMILY ;)
Good to see another great operator :)
You need to get a set of tracks for the rears on the haul truck like they use in the woods.
You are a great operator for sure. that place reminds me of a farm we worked on between Wilson and Clayton years ago nice place, its a lot different than here along the cost,
The Cows need the Water and GOD knows they drink a Lot of Water daily. Nice Updates to Pond.👍
You are the man , with a plan , for the dam , good work again buddy 👍
I thoroughly enjoyed the video.😀👍
Chris
U r a very experienced operator
Hats off to u
I salute
fun to watch the old gal' yank those cedar stumps up. Just like flipping an egg over in a frying pan.
Cheers from Louisiana.
Chris, good video! the last wet pond clean out I did was kinda like that. I have an old tandum dump truck that I use off road and the guy driving it got stuck so many times and even backed into the front of my service truck. Hell of a mess! 😀
"There's the ruts." lol! And yeah, I think if you tried to step out in that pond for a swim, you'd probably bounce.
you need wider tires for your dump truck , you should look at a tracked dumper with low ground pressure mud tracks if you ever get one for your self
Yeah, that pond has some green, doesn't it ? Lol.
"Hey moos" love it. The cows did not care about that big excavator running about.
Chris, thats a mighty set of "Cow bells" you have taking that dozer over that dam at that angle lol
Looking at that pond reminds of ghost busters it even has creatures lurking in the green plasma
The pond man. They always my fav.
What a beautiful day you had. That pond might be classified as a bio hazard because cows do not have good manners. :) Love your open line "my favourite audience".😄
Nice job Chris, love it. Bob NZ.

Cattle especially will destroy a pond.
Cheap 12 v pump and solar system can keep a lot of cattle supplied with water.
That is what letsdig18 said. :)
you make this look so effortless and what a great job you do!
Everytime you do a job bro it's always an amazing job you do when you complete it
Cows and snappers for an audience, such a pity they can not give a thumbs up bro. Safe travels up your way
I would say look into getting a Volvo long boom arm for when you need it. They aren't too difficult to change out.
I'd also recommend a forestry cage on your Volvo.
They've got penty of water - it's just not in the pond!
Patience pays off. Watch your videos to remember. Thanks.
So accustomed to watching the videos with the 220, which is a great machine....but that 250 is a beast
Great video. As with most pond jobs the situation is often very fluid 😬!! So decisions must be made as conditions dictate
Jesus Chris.....that's one sensitive mic you got...man the crackle is AWESOME SOUNDING!!!
Yeah those spectators probably thought you were there with feed! lol 😂
@Kirk good afternoon
"That's a real pretty pond..." . Yeah, if you ignore the prehistoric occupant with the 4-inch neck!
It's a pleasure to watch a skilled operator. Love your vids.
I TOTALLY ENJOYED WATCHING THE VIDEO CHRIS 😊
Because of the size of those snapping turtles & hearing Chuck Berry's song, " My Dinga Ling " as a kid, I don't swim in ponds either. Lol
Evening all from the UK🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
You know fall is here, when the guys in NC are wearing sweat shirts in the am...
Turtles probably had a roll in that pond dam deteriorating also
Something gives me a sneaking suspicion that soft spot used to be part of the pond. You did say it was 60-70 years old. That's a lot of years of silting.
Cattle selectively trample the dam wall to destroy the dam. To protect my dams I put a hot(electric) fence along the wall to force the cattle to drink from the side where they can't destroy the dam.
Wow pond looks great
I use sterile grass carp to keep the algae cleaned out of my pond.
Stuck trucks are commonplace. I wanted to see a dozer slide into the pond. LOL. Glad it worked out.
Que the music- “ Never fear, Pondmaster is here”
Second/third passes with the dozer... yikes! That was steep!
I felt my behind slowly sliding of the chair.... 😂😂😂
Excellent work on that slope. Made me work buttom holes in my chair.
the cows are waiting for you to finish Chris so they can trample everything back down lol
They aren't being allowed to drink directly from the pond anymore. piping etc will be installed to fill troughs.. As stated in this video
Your in a rut Chris 😂 great content really enjoy watching you build these days.
I'm surprised you can't see trees sprout up and grow on front of you!
Love that cruuuch sound!!!
Was a little rough going there wasn't it !! lolol... But, nothing ever really goes as planned anyway, ya know it ?? lolol... Great as always Chris, Have a Great Evening , and, On too the Next !!
