      Hi Neil, sorry for the late reply. If you use the card, it's just the same as using any other business account card, although there is a charge for drawing out cash. (check the t&c's for exact charges) Thanks for your positive remarks.

    does only approved transactions go through? for example, lets say a customer pays with a card (and the card has insufficient funds and they do not know), will it get declined right there and then? i just want to know to ensure i will be getting paid for my goods and services. TIA

    • @MickReviewsStuff
      @MickReviewsStuff  Před 2 lety

      Yes. It's just the same as other systems in shops. Instant decline for zero funds and randomly asks for pin number. If you're in doubt for stolen cards etc, simply stick the card in the slot and ask for the pin. If they don't have one you can decline service. Hope this helps and sorry for the late reply.

    Got the air device at the minute but could do with being able to manually enter card details as well for payments over the phone. Don't think the air allows this?

      Yes, you can send a payment link by sms. Your customer then opens the link and pays with a card. There’s also an app they can download and pay through that. Hope this helps, Mick

    I am not a Sum up user but recently find more and more people are, as someone that only makes payments on these readers I have a question which I cant find the answer to anywhere!
    When payment is taken via card what if any details can the person receiving funds see? Name, bank details etc?
    Or are the funds sent to sum up who then take their cut and distribute to the person in possession of the reader?
    Thanks in advance 👍🏻

    • @MickReviewsStuff
      @MickReviewsStuff  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi, I cannot see any card details in my screen, only what card it is ie visa, Mastercard, American Express. And yes, SumUp handle the payment, take off their fees and then pay it into the SumUp business account. You can use the debit card they supply, to spend the money, or download it to your normal business account and have it there.

      No charge from the company. I suppose if you didn’t included texts, there may be a standard charge from your phone provider. You can also email them one.

      They supply a sum up card with it. As well as a business account. The air requires connecting to a phone, as the data comes from that.

    Can he download the app on his phone and would it link the to his bank. I feel I’ve messed up. When I ordered it I set it up with his details and it gave me a merchant number. I’m hoping that I’ve not messed up. Any help would be really appreciated.
