Taking Mobile Payments in your business with Sum Up (In App Walkthrough - Payment links, Invoicing)

- Äas pĆidĂĄn 23. 07. 2024
- In this video I walk you through using the Sum Up application on your phone to take mobile payments for your service based business.
In a digital world, making payments via contactless methods such as Apple pay / Google Pay or just by tapping your card on the machine has now become the new normal.
Less people carry cash today so it is even more important that as a service based business we move with the times.

Thanks
Thank you for the video, really helpful
Your welcome, glad you found it helpful
Great video thanks, do you know if you can link to more than 1 phone at a time?
Is there a limit on the amount that you can accept with the Sum UP device? Thank you for your video.
Very useful video. Thank you!! Also just ordered it using your link ;)
Awesome, thank you so much đ
If someone takes payment where does mony go to it should go direct to my bank account
@@andrewmccubbin9677 It goes into your Sum Up account, then you can transfer what you want into your bank account and they take a small %
Hiya, do you have to have a business bank account for these or can you use your personal account?
Your vedio is very helpful, thanks.
Thanks
Hi,
Can I add custom discount on products before charging the customers? Lets say my product price I setup in sumup is 50, but I wanna sell it in ÂŁ30. can I minus 20 pounds? I Know this can be done in Zettle.
Hi thx very much for making this video.
How can i change from personal to business account?
I donât think you can change it to a personal account,
I think itâs either for a sole trader or a company.
Great video and well explained. Quick question. Is this just for the UK or can the currency change to Euros or Dollars?
Thanks, I believe you can do it for the US also
Great video. You said that If the payment over than 100 Pounds' pay done through card ( interring chip card into POS). Why contactless payment in this situation dose not work? Why it is only if the payment under 100 Pounds' I can done payment through contactless feature?
Hey, thanks for the question.
So the limit on a card via contactless us ÂŁ100 in the UK, if done via Apple pay / Google pay then its unlimited. So if its over ÂŁ100 and the customer wanted to pay via card they would need to enter their card and using the "chip and pin" method.
Cracking bit of kit I have the one with the printer however..... the customer service is terrible be wear if you ever want something sorted out or have a problem you'll be awaiting days....
Thanks, touch wood Iâve not any problems.
Could someone answer this question.
Customer calls to pay over phone, is it possible to insert card details manually to confirm sale while customer on phone?
Thanks
Great question, to be honest Iâm not sure there is, but you can send them a payment link.
Nice walk through. there are a few features I didn't know my SumUp machine did :-) Still think you should do BACS nice and easy for customer and you as banking apps are very good and easy to see who had paid via payment ref as their address plus a lot of the time it's free :-) Also some banking apps allow you to take an image of cheque to deposit it in your bank!!! So no going to the bank - I assume you have to do that anyway as you take cash?
Thank you,
Sum up is a great device for any business...especially the online store feature which is also free. (I didn't include this as its not something ive used)
I bank with Starling and you can take a picture of a cheque to pay it in via the app which is really good.
Can you make payment without reader
Sum up is not available in my country and am in need of it for my online store please can you help me out
Thanks for your video
Have you tried Stripe?
I don't get the same options as you..why would that be? No option for payment link or to put their name in
Thatâs weird, not sureâŠare you based in the Uk?
can you send a quote with this app and if quote is accepted it saves doing an invoice?
Unfortunately not, itâs just a payment processing device,
In our business we use a separate CRM software to generates quotes etc
Can you offer a customer discount in the items on the app?
I believe so if you have the online store function,
Alternatively, if you are sending them a payment link then I would just reduce the price off the payment link and then generate a customer order / invoice which shows the discount.
ÂŁ60 for gutter clearing? damned if you are selling yourself short :) great vid, thank you :)
Thanks, I know right!
If there card is broken can we punch in the card number?
I donât believe so, if thatâs the case I would send the customer a payment link
Can you do a video on remote payments please eg Taxi Driver to get paid in advance for trip to Gatwick instead of failure of customer to turn up and lost fare ?
Hi Roy, Iâve not used my reader yet but I think what youâre looking for is the âPayment Linkâ feature where you send the customer a link to make a payment in advance. He talks about how to do this at point 4 mins 22 secs into the video.
@@lisaowen2930 Thanks Lisa !
100% as Lisa has mentioned, you create a payment via the payment link option and then share it the link with the customer to pay.
Thanks Lisa đđŒ
brilliant ...but bit fast on screen changes for us oldies
hahaha... Sorry...is there anything in particular that would like you to know?
adding customer now shown. it seems to be an absolute secret how it looks like ... đ
but soon all debitoor users are forced to switch
Hey Michael, Thank you for comment.
I dont use it as a CRM system, just simply to take payments...not sure if there is the facility to do this.
Best we all keep cash. Yes, these devices are great, but digital only is going to be a dangerous outcome.
To be honest, cash is a painâŠesp post covid thereâs still a lot of places that only take cardâŠ
How long takes to payment arriving in my bank account ?
You can choose to have payments paid daily, weekly or monthly. Payments take 1-3 days to make it to your account.
As Daz has said, you can choose.
We have it set up to payout daily.
Hellođ, can you use the app for cash options?
Hey, sorry im not sure what you mean by cash options?
@@seeitcleanltd-aylesbury Cash transactions on the app/system
@@kzcb9630 No idea what that means, sorry.
Yes you can go to settings
Great explanation. But too much preliminary chat!
Bought one today how do you do payment if customers not with you
You can send them a payment link.
It's work in india?
Great question, Iâm not sure.
What is your experience regarding pay-out from SumUp? The reviews on Trust Pilot are shocking - many stories of thousands withheld by SumUp from traders/merchants for weeks and months.
Great question, Iâve never had an issues or delays unless it falls on a public holiday.
But even then itâs the day after,
