I feel like I've returned back to the original universe
Felt weird, but I'm glad we're back.
yeah except they put the dirty video at the beginning now for some reason

Agreed lol. Thought i was the only one
@@brothergrok there was a change in rules for monetization that has to be on the first 8 sec or the first 30 idk ...
Yesterday we seen RxM, now we're back with MxR
Lol
Ein was editing
The God turn back time
I actually laughed 😂
What happened yesterday?
The Pythagoras cup is how your washing machine empties the fabric softener tray. You fill the tray up to the fill line (which is below the level at which it starts draining). When the washer gets to the portion of the cycle where it needs fabric softener, it adds water to the tray until it rises past the drain level. Then all the liquid in the tray drains out, with no moving parts which can break or get gummed up with residue.
Oh okay thanks
So does this mean I can drink fabric softener if I get a Pythagoras cup? Sweet!! Ima about to start a new tiktok challenge
It's also how the toilet works.
Fun with siphons 🥳
Now we're back at immersive content again, marvelous!
The stars have aligned and the sky is clear.
Everything is back where it belongs on MxR Plays.
Even Jeannie has reverted to her usual make-up levels, looking stunning as usual while her comedic timing is on point and deliver mirth to us all.
Henry flinging out punchlines like they're going out of fashion and revealing that he wishes he'd be as flexible as the contortionist in the first clip.
Ein being her usual cuddly nibblyness, searching attention with her teeth.
I'm more in a zen mood now, feeling like at least this place is back to normal.
You did forgot the dog "stealing" attention in between and deserved.
Feels nice that everything back to normal
with the exception of the blue outlines of course.
just kidding, color was just fucked for for me for some reason. hope my GPU wasn't overeating.
they just had to remind everyone what they could be so we dont get complacent. like"if you dont hit those buttons down below this is what we will become" so make sure you like this video to keep them from converting
and I can "dig a tunnel"
everything was normal even yesterday .. stop crying
People watch MxR because you two feel genuine, last video felt just like any other TikTok reaction video out there

That nugget of knowledge is most appreciated.
I have one. I bought it from Thinkgeek as a dinosaur plant.
Also, the best bird ever is R2D2 in a Hawaiian hotel, I forget if it was on Oahu or Maui, but there were a bunch of parrots in open cages in the atrium, I think. blue and white parrot.
Edit: I just looked it up. r2d2 is an african grey parrot at the Hyatt Regency in Maui. I stayed there over twenty years ago, and I bet R2 will outlive me.
Now everything has returned to normal *perfectly balanced as all things should be*
Expect the poor editor that got fired after one video.
@@SephBane it wasnt a new editor
@@instinctrules2969 It's likely a new editor. Editor has a taste with their editing, and it really shows. You can clearly see how different between last video and the rest of usual videos.

1:15 That's mythologically accurate, Zeus would do anything to get his bonk on.
Agreed. This is a god that was able to get a woman pregnant by raining down on her as gold coins. I can definitely see him letting a girl have lightening touch so that he could get with her.
Yep... she's f*cked
No he wouldn't be a simp. He would be an F boy. He was a man whore.
The fact Zeus once got his freak on as a swan is still random as heck to me.
So Henry is balding, and Jeannie's voice is lowering in pitch 8:12
They're growing old together :')
7:40 - This is a Sodium vapor light. Sodium has a very strong emission line in it's spectrum at that amber color so unlike many light sources, it truely emits nearly a single energy level of photons (single color). This means that there isn't any other color mixed in to reflect off of things that are not that amber color, and you can really see how much of that amber color is absorbed when it hits different materials: it turns the environment truely monochromatic.
Edit: {
The reason it did not work when Henry cranked the temperature way down on the lights in their room is because there was still a lot of the entire spectrum being emitted, so the red drill on the pegboard, for instance, was still red because it absorbed everything else but still hed red light to reflect.
}
Old chroma keying effects (green/blue screen) were done in-camera with a very specialized at Disney by lighting the background behind actors with only Sodium vapor. Since it so strongly emits one energy level of photons, they could get a highly engineered prism that only significantly refracts that color of light, and bend it away in the lens, leaving anything that was illuminted by Sodium vapor completely unexposed on the main strip of film. It would bend to another strip of film that would be exposed as a black and white matte, showing an image where the background should be.
The way film projectors work, is the dark parts of the image block more light, so anything that was not exposed (the foreground) on the matte film strip would be opaque just by using the normal development process on the film. Anywhere the Sodium vapor light hit on the matte would be transparent. All of this means that you can lay the matte film on top the main film and then expose the background footage over this using, essentially, a very close up projector (think along the lines of putting film on you phone screen to transfer what is on your screen to the film). The matte being on top blocks the foreground elements on the main strip from being exposed again, but it lets the background image shine through, adding that part to only the background regions of the main string that were not exposed in the camera. This whole process is a branch of optical compositing if you want to read more about it.
Just thought I'd share some of the cool history of Sodium vapor lights because they are truely trippy to stand under if you have not experienced it!
if i remember correctly, Bees are so light that a fall like that doesn't hurt them at all. it's the same for a lot of insects
I feel bad imagining that a new editor was hired and then instantly fired after Henry and Jeannie realized nobody liked that video format
It doesn't mean that happened, it could be someone new and they told him to keep it the same as the rest or one their usual editors tried something different.
Huh? What do you mean? The videos have been different?
@@vladdracul2379 Last video was goofy and like 9min long.
Coulda been a new editor, coulda just been a rushed video, coulda been many a thing.
To be brutally honest, I really dont care. I come to MxR, because this is one of the very few channels where I can enjoy some infatile humor, without the TikTik plague that makes video cuts so absolutely unpleasant for a very very big junk of Yt these days. And the experiment from yesterday was really just that, the edit was all over the place and some cringe effects seemed to be more important than the actual reactions and interactions of Jeanny and Henry.
I actually enjoyed the new format. Once in a while and depending on the subreddit it would work
The monochrome Elmo was because of Low Pressure Sodium lamps, they only emit one wavelength of light so everything looks the same color. Before LED street lamps they were so common no one really noticed, now when you see them they are super trippy. The coolest thing about them is you can make flames black by adding salt to the flames fuel if LPS lamps are your only light source.
By that logic, does that mean the Amaterasu technique from Naruto is fire from salt infused fuel?
Scrolled through a bunch of comments just to see if anyone knew this.
I remember this from physics in school, and the streetlights where I grew up had these kinds of lights as well. Really cool effect.
@@R_Caine Only if they lights they had were LPS.
@@kimbohlin4383 I wish I appreciated them more when I was young. Now we have LED array lights that cast weird pixelated shadows. Some led street light turn an amazing purple when they start to fail though which is pretty cool.
Glad someone else knew this. You can get similar result with objects deep in the ocean as more and more the color spectrum gets filtered out by the water. Only the shorter wavelengths(green, blue, violet) make it past 50m so the Elmo would also darken like the sodium lamps expect everything around would be more blue than yellow.
after last video, watching this one makes it feel a lot more cozy. I don't know how a video can be cozy but I guess it is. Thank you guys for being awesome.

@12:45 - nice try, Jeannie, but Bernoulli's principle (increase of speed in a fluid will have a corresponding drop in pressure) has nothing to do with it... water level drops, forming a vacuum in the bottle (is sealed, as long as the opening around the red straw fits tight) and tries to draw in air, but can't if red straw is inserted deep enough to have sufficient water pushing down to prevent the air coming in. Pull the straw up until air can push in, bubbles release a bit of vacuum and water flows out blue straw until the pressures equalize again or the red straw is pulled up to cut off the air flow.
Just a bit of geekshare for anyone who might have been curious. 🤓
[edit] side note - only works because blue straw is so narrow, if it were much wider some air would leak in that way and let the water flow out...
The real magic is the level of patience Jeannie has with the shenanigans.
She expended every cent of that for the random unprovoked "you're balding" lol

9:03 Pythagorean cup (also known as the greedy cup) was invented by Pythagoras, an ancient Greek mathematician and philosopher.
Legend has it that it was originally intended to help people drink in moderation, allowing them to fill the cup to a certain level and no more.
2:20 what the French cop is trying to say is that you are legally allowed to drink on the public space, but not to be drunk on the public space.
To be more specific: public and overt drunkenness is an offense under the public health code punishing drunkenness on public ways. It's not about sanctionning a level of alcohol, but an alcoholic state which represents a risk for other people or for the drunk person himself, or which creates a disturbance to public order.
In other words: you can get drunk, just remain stealthy.
#2:45 Parallax Effect: is a displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight.
1:49 Jeannie laughed a little too hard at that
10:06 the freezer seal has a small gap in it, causing fine oscillations between frozen and thaw.
This causes a sweating type of effect where thawed water will drip onto another lower surface at a colder temperature, then refreeze, gradually building up height.
About 6 weeks ago I had the same thing, except my freezer had multiple on the left third, making it ?look like an ice jail.
Found it on a Sunday evening when I got home after being at a friend's house all weekend.
I had grabbed a chilled bottle of water out, but had moved a small roast forward, that stopped the door from shutting properly.

I sense Kai is back to her normal self. All is right in the world.
7:30
This is the moment Henry realized that 'Keeps' would be sponsoring the next episodes of MXR Plays...
That bird is a Common Starling. I used to have one outside my student halls that mimicked the beeping of my alarm clock - used to drive me nuts as I kept checking my alarm to turn it off.
That thing with the light washing out all the color isn't a camera white balance thing. It's because that lamp is a high-pressure sodium lamp. Those lamps produce a basically monochromatic orange-yellow light at a 589.3 nm wavelength (technically it's two wavelengths, 589.0 and 589.6, but those are so close together that they're effectively just one color). It's why everything looks like it's in black and white, except the white is yellow. Even weirder, if you create a flame with sodium atoms in it (say by taking a lighter and holding a piece of paper towel soaked in salt water into the flame), in that light the flames will be black and cast dark shadows, like they're semi-solid. It's very weird to see.
7:18 Happened to me in my early 20s better hop on that "Keeps" hair product.
Let's hope their kids never ask Henry to help with their math homework...
Jeannie isnt much better
I love when Henry &jeannie react to black magic duckery because we always see some crazy stuff.
again fun with the fluid dunamics, the water flows when the straw is higher because as far as the air pressure and surface tension are concerned, it's a bottle with a hole plain and simple, but due to water having a high surface tension and air pressure not being great enough to force it through the long thin straw without a point for the air to exit and enter above said straw when the above straw is lowered below the side straw nothing comes out, this is reversable unlike the Pythagorean cup though because the Pythagorean cup is a Pythagorean siphon
I'm so glad the video's are back to normal
Henry's ASMR voice was surprisingly comfortable!
The Pythagorean Cup isn't meant as a practical joke (although it can be used as one) so much as Pythagoras created it to teach humility. The way the cup works is that the central stem contains a looping channel. so long as the cup is not filled to much, it acts as a normal drinking cup. But pour too much wine in the cup and it will create a siphon that pulls all the wine out, leaving you with none.
It was created to teach people not to be to greedy at communal events (basically, only take just enough. Or if your greedy you'll get none).
9:15 He specifically made that cup for when he hosted parties, so that people wouldn't take too much wine. It spills everything out the bottom if filled past half way
Source on the first clip?
The first woman was very popular in school! The fact that Jeannie is both cute AND smart means that Henry is a LUCKY guy!
Wait really?
9:30 if you add alkaline water to red wine it can turn it purple or blue. the anthocyanins in wine are red in an acidic environment and blue in an alkaline one
As a plant scientist working with bumblebees, I can say that the "bees-don't-fly-in-darkness" thing comes quite handy when they escape ^^
However, I remember one morning stepping into a plant growth chamber noticing a moment later that the hive was chewing through the netting of their cage to reach a bunch of plants I wanted them to pollinate. I quickly turned off the light and heard them falling to the floor. I thought "Hahaaa you cannot fly! Gotcha!" but my brain was also pointing out "heheee and you my friend cannot see!" I thought we were all at an stalemate...then I realized that the bees were still able to jump \>.

Thank you Henry, Jeannie and Empress Kai !! Your vids always bring me back into balance!!! Long live MXR Plays! Also, a Krewsade implies expansion so maybe consider, Rumble.
The ice is really easy to explain. Water freezes from the outside in, ice takes up more space that water so as the inside water freezes it needs to expand somewhere so it makes those points. It is pretty neat.

That street lamp with the Elmo is a pretty cool thing actually. If you take a light and it has no "red light" then anything that is red will lose it's color under that light. This happens because the red object is only red because it's reflecting the red light and absorbing all other colors that make up the light. Since the light has no "red" the Elmo doll couldn't reflect it and thus has no color. You can do this with anything. Put a red apple in a room with a light that doesn't have any red in it and the apple will be black.
10:53
GUUUUUYS I POSTED THIS ONE....I'M SO PROOOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Henry and jeannie aka MXR are my therapy what I mean by this is when ever I feel down I always watch your videos and they always make me smile and laugh also me and my boyfriend watch you guys all the time together as you two kinda remind me o me and him and how we act around eachother
The reverse icicle. The water freezes on the surface first, going from the edge inward. This continues until only a small opening remains. As the water continues to freeze, its volume increases, and the water is pushed up through the hole and freezes around its edge, forming a tube that eventually grows into a spike. You need just the right combination of temperature and water purity to make such a spike.
Those curious those ice spikes form when the water gets supercooled ( bellow zero but not frozen yet) a layer of ice begins to form around the water so once the top has a hole as it freezes it will force water up out the hole (when water freezes it expands). It will keep doing that until all the water is pushed up while the hole slowly closes causing the spike . I tried my best to explain it so anyone could understand
Thumbnails are the best and they put it at the beginning now. Great job not baiting us to fast forward the ending 😂😂
That first clip is nice. I’ll press the Like button for that.
8:17 i burst out laughing that was genuinely fking funny
9:43 Its most likely dye but that cant be the whole story, you dont just dilute a red primary color, into a completely different primary color like Blue.
Many public water districts add chemicals such as chlorine in small ammounts to the municipal water supply to cut down on infectious/harmful diseases, and chlorine can change or remove the color of some chemicals which is what i suspect is happening here(probably still dye though)
Parallax - the apparent displacement or the difference in apparent direction of an object as seen from two different points not on a straight line with the object. motion parallax governs the way objects appear to move when the eyes or head are shifted
It's alright Henry, I had lush hair and around 27/28 it started to thin and now at 32 it's thinned alot. Granted for me it was due to immense stress in life, but shit happens.
Hooray all is right in the world!! Kai must have got her Gundam lol.
7:42 this happens because the sodium lamps only emit one wavelength of light, so your eye doesn't have enough information to discriminate color, just grayscale
It’s also known as the greedy cup. They would give it to the one that tends to be super greedy with the wine and fills their cup to the top. Below a certain level the cup holds liquid fine and you can drink out of it, but the second you go above that line in the cup the force placed on the loop by the liquid pushes all of the liquid through it and out a spout on the bottom of the cup.
