    Air collects in the master cylinder due to its angle. It's best to remove that air pocket from the top. Remove the rubber bladder thing from the reservoir, put the cap back on and apply vacuum to the vent hole in the cap with a vacuum hose from the engine. Replace rubber bladder chingawilly. It works wonderful. Best way to bleed a ranger clutch.

    • @lucky7s94
      @lucky7s94 Před rokem +1

      Even better, if you remove the rubber bladder from the reservoir, put the cap back on, you can hold an engine vacuum hose to the vent hole in the reservoir cap and it will pull the air pocket out of the master. There's no pumping involved. No specialty tools. I had my clutch line disconnect twice on a 700 mile trip and I figured out how to do this in a summit racing parking lot in Georgia and re bent the clip for the line while I was there and it stayed ever since that day

    Got some questions!!! I've got a 99 Ranger with the 2.5 4cyl. With a 5 spd!!! I just purchased a old school 302 for the v8 swap! What motor mounts and transmission mounts do I need to look for. I do believe the truck will be getting a T5 behind the 302!!! Any suggestions or tips are appreciated!!!

      I used a combination of the ranger and the Ford Explorer mounts, And i used a manual from a 1995 F250 with the 5 speed manual so the shifter hole would line up, also the driveshaft went right in

    i got some "back yard old school advice" the failed compression on the LS and how to bleed the m5r2 and m5r1 clutch easy , and the gauge cluster should have a chip card in the side of it, if you go to a junk yard find a explorer that had the v8 and pull the chip out of that. ford made all the clusters the same and just had different chips they could plug in for different engines. like the t-birds.

      You hold an engine vacuum hose to the vent hole on the reservoir cap with the rubber bladder piece removed... there's your backyard/roadside emergency trick to bleed a ranger clutch.

    I thought the thunderbird super coupe is a 6 cylinder supercharged not a 5.0?

      The super coupes came with turbo 4cyl (2.3L) and super charged 6cyl (3.8L) you could get the 5.0 in the normal trim models.

    this is so cool i have an old 1991 ranger and im really thinking of just doing this swap instead of getting a new vehicle, it just seems like so much fun and not too costly

      I’m doing it right now, bought a whole donor vehicle for $1000.

      I have a 91 ranger also that I'm thinking about doing a V8 swap in. I need to look for a 8.8 rear end because mine has the 2.3l and those has what? 7.5? It's a 5 speed but I think when I do a swap I'll put a auto in it. it looks like headers are the only issue I've found so far online but I see where some use manifolds from the 70's and they seem to work. Idk? If I'm gonna go that far with it I would like headers on it.

    I’d love to put a 302 v8 in my 11 Ranger XLT super cab 4X4.
    The 4.0 V6 gets the job done, but a sweet 5.0 v8 would get the job done quicker !
