It would be great if powernation could organize the videos so we could watch a build series vs searching
Nah brah
no kidding considering sometimes it takes 3 or 4 seasons for one build.
How about a Mustang GT 4.6 and 5speed out of my 08 GT and put it in my 06 Ranger
It’s really funny how so many don’t know these are old episodes from TV
Yeah. I've seen this episode on spike years ago.
remember when it was called power block
@@MiguelRojas-dq7gl i member
Those dells came out back in 2003. That’s how old this episode is.
ITS NEW TO ME!
LoL this is like 10 years or older lol I can remember watching this whole series on spike tv on Saturday mornings when I was a teenager in the mid 2000's maybe 2010 idk
Yeah, that Baumannator TCS is so old you have to use the Wayback machine to find any links.
Haha rad
This was back when I had my LT1 formula sbe advanced Inductions CNC'ed factory heads a nasty cam little bit of nitrous and a th350 swap my 20yo self thought I was bad man running 6.70's in the 1/8 and replacing opti sparks atleast once a month lol them was the good ol days forsure!
@@woodgrain18 nice dude...sounds like my swapped volvo integra with boiled heads and two thirty four crank! dont use the two thirty five as they are junk...tell me, did you use shaved rotator valves or just cut stock ones? i tried cutting stock ones and they lasted for a while but since im such a good driver they wore right out
@@philtripe I like to drill holes in my valves so my spark reactors can properly mix the transmission fluid with the extra 8 ounces of elk urine so I dont melt my rotator rods and distributor pipes, I'm also running straight plutonium at the moment I no longer have any body hair or teeth and a leg is growing out of my four head and shittin glowing ostrich sized eggs with mini Andre the giant's inside, But hey anything for a few more hp
The fact its a Mazda makes it one sick sleeper. No one would take a race seriously here in TN
I still wouldn't take it seriously... It only makes 260hp. Pretty far from a being quick.
@@konnerkramer329 Its a 300 hp 4 valve Marauder engine. The same engine that they put in the 97 Mustang Cobra.I guess you don't know your Ford engines very well...
@@konnerkramer329 I think u mentioned the SOHC version.
No one takes anything seriously in tn
Yeah, and when it pulls away from them and leaves them in a cloud of smoke with that V8 burble coming out of the tailpipe they'll be saying, wait! Thats not what a 2.3 4 cylinder or 3.0, or 4.0 V6 sound like!
That went from a weekend project to a $6k motorswap real quick
I'm grateful to see those episodes. I was on call for 4 years and went without cable for more than that so this is all "new" to me.
Seeing a lot of stuff from the older days being put on as new shows. Still good to see again.
Its cause we need shit to watch during these times unfortunately...lol...
I had an ‘84 Ranger that I replaced the blown stock 2.8L V6 with a .060 over 302. This was back in the days of Advanced Adapters catalogs. Man, that truck was fun in the woods, but was even better on the street with my 5.0 badges on the fenders!
Matthew Conti. Neat!!
it's insane to me all the work they did swapping in the 4.6 just to immediately swap it out again. awesome project
Hell yeah that lil bolt of electric Ranger . It's just gunna kick ASS sweet! .Can't wait to see the finished product.
Hopefully you'll pas the 1,000 videos
Thanks so much for the knowledge you inspire and you are a great voice for filming TV or videos Both of you experts I find great
Thanks
Ok...now I wanna drive that Aluminator B2500. That thing would be crazy fun to drive.
Fun truck guys good job! You can't make everyone happy but I'd be happy to have a badazz truck like that
anyone else notice that ancient dell laptop lol
That was a top of the line Dell when this episode was made.
What a nerd!!!
I have been dying to do this same swap for so long, ever since I rode in that older Lincoln MkVIII. The InTech 32V 4.6 is a beast and is an EXTREMELY capable engine, so to put it in a Ranger chassis is a recipe for a good time. Also, I had a dream of building a 95 or newer S10 with a large displacement V8, or to build a high displacement LS and supercharge it with a 6 speed Tremec. Either way, Ford or Chevy, it's guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
My grandpa has got one of these Mazda’s never expected this to happen to one
SAM_DAH_DOGGO 4 my neighbor has a 4x4 version. Was a good truck until he planted the nose into anther vehicle. He still has it though it’s smashed up. It’s just sitting there.
Did they sell the 4x4 Mazda’s in the u.s cause I only recall the rangers of that era being optioned in 4x4, unless ur not in the U.S
SAM_DAH_DOGGO 4 yes they did in the US. Not as plentiful as the 2WD though.
Cool! the 37 ford tires are Western Auto Supply, brings back memories. Switching to radials? you'll need to toe them out a bit or they'll skate. I remember (1960s) my first set of Michelins and they were great but, selling radials, as they started overtaking Bias ply, I hated the more vunerable sidewalls especially for on the off roaders.
I cannot wait to see the new engine upgrade
I wish i could afford a t56 magnum new. Damn.
And the irony is both the original four banger and V8 have the same CID per cylinder. 2.3L and 4.6L
Would like to see an eco boost swap on an older ranger that would probably be sweet
I might... I was watching videos on V8 ford ranger swaps to see if I would want to do it to my 1993 V6 3.0L in the future that does seem like a cool option
My dad recently passed and I got his 98 ranger and I want to do the same thing and engine swap it , good content bri
Where do I find a new motor like that one. That thing is so clean
Dang haha rip the marauders 4.6, crazy upgrade however 😎
I had an 03 with the 2.3 Duratec, I would only average about 21-23 MPG, I wonder if this V8 will get about the same.
Probably with the weight difference..especially with a 5 or 6 speed and 373 gears or 3.55 it should get good mileage hell even the 4.6 v8 got decent mileage in the crown vic's and grand marquis
Awesome informative Video experience and
What did they use for motor mounts ?
I have a Ranger with a v8 swap and am looking for a mechanic to work on it. Know any mechanics with experience on this in the Washington DC area? I'm willing to drive a little.
That motor sounded like a lawn mower with a full exhaust from the first start, I knew instantly it had valve problems or spark plugs blew out lol💯😆
The legendary, and nearly bullet proof 03-04 COBRA TERMINATOR 😎 that she is!!
Never thought about a 4.6 😩🤤
Need to do full suspension on that wobble brick
I have a 94 x and would like to go v8. I know alot of forum's are out there. How about more videos. Thanks
I like this guys
In my observation the difference between Ford and GM/Chevy is that when it comes to the each brands bullet proof motors, Chevy takes the cake. Yes engines like the supercharged 4.6 terminator motor can handle a lot of power but its pretty rare meanwhile every gmc envoy/Buick rainier/Chevy trailblazer is driving around with a 4.2 vortec i6 that’ll handle 600whp on stock internals, and then you have all the Chevy truck v8’s the 4.8’s eat boost, 5.3s love power, and 6.0s blow tires off no matter what
trucks awesome but the exahust sounds like ass, sounds like a dying airplane
Yeaaaa it sounds like crap because it has the dreaded rod knock. The engine was out of a stolen vehicle and was probably abused beforehand just like they said in the video....
@@jimgould2829 for the first bit they drove it u could clearly hear the exaust , even with the rod knock u can hear the exahust sounds like garbage, it has no h or x or y pipe and cheap mufflers so it sounds like 2 crappy 4 cylinders goin at it. even with a fresh motor it will sound like ass
I must like the sound of dying airplanes then
Buddy had almost the same exhaust on his truck. It sounds like ass on camera but deep in person. I loved it
Might as well slap a ford badge beside the mazda badge😂😂
Exactly what happened to my 32v
Keep the exhaust sound. True sleeper lol!
I put a 4.6 in my 4x4 ranger a year before these guys done it . Wish I could of watched these guys do it first ,Would of save me a lot of time and modifications that I didn't have to make . I moved the steering box out 2 inches to clear the exhaust manifold , dumbest thing I ever did.
Tremec 6spd steel bell housing now your cookin not to mention the whipple
Is the first guy that comes on the guy from the lmc truck videos?
Good job guys lol
I'm jealous
Exactly a real man dosnt need a.c. in his truck soccer mum's need a.c..
I remember back I the day where 500 hp was amazing and these days you can buy one off every man times have changed. It's funny my amazing power is a young mechanics starting point lucky bastards.
phil mortlock. Wish I could afford that 500HP!! Xwife makes it tuff!
Please change the mufflers, it sounds like 🤮
It’s not the mufflers.
Yeah.. that's headgasket
Or rocker arm maybe
Sounds like a mower😂
@@lanewayne8654 Was going to say the same!
I have a 1987 ford ranger 5.0 swapped with a T5 making around 360whp this thing is beyond funnn
I am Thinking of doing this to my 2011 Ford Ranger i brought new, She has a 2.3L
Just hit 60,000 Miles... So Engine is really good still... But... V8 Sounds Even more Fun LOL!
I use to have a 4.6L in my Crown vic P71 , So... I am thinking ill do that one year..
Or Maybe Just Build my 2.3L
Every Ranger owner's wet dream.
I have a 2007 Ranger if you want upgrade it for me that would be great it has 3.0 six in it now I had bought it for my younger brother but he is no longer with us we talked about putting a 5.0 in it
richard frank. Sounds like fun!
Sorry to hear about your brother
Check out my stroker 84 ranger with a t5.
Love how they used a 4.6 instead of a 5.0, I much prefer the 4.6 anyway.
This was posted 2 months ago, but those side burns say otherwise
cool
To quote the engineers at Porsche "No human being on Earth can shift fast enough to keep up with today's high performance engines"
What year is it?
Too bad you guys didn't pull a 6-speed manual out of a cobrafor that truck I understand that it would probably be hard to get the shift linkage lined up
Cool. I want to drive the Mazda
Fun fact That whipple is a twin screw, not a roots!
You need to put a positive traction in it
Can anyone help me.97ford150. Electronically in cab/wires
The Alumninator is a better than an Terminator engine, bc it has Mahle pistons instead of Zolner.
Typical cylinder 8 tick due to passenger side cylinder head over heat.
You should have add an rear cooling mod in the cylinder heads.
I still need a truck I'm thinking either a Chevy short bed a ford hiboy or a 53 GMC
Man that thing needs an x-pipe
Why did Spike get rid of Stacy?
sounds like a 60's log truck
I once put a Camaro motor on a minibike. It ran like a minibike with a Camaro motor!
Send the 4.6 to Horsepower so they can do a budget coyote build
That is a fantastic idea
Too bad this show aired like 10 years ago 😂
4.6 isn’t a coyote 😆
My dad first car was a ford ranger 5L 550 hp
Sounds like it's running on 7 cylinders
Who else remembers when Stacey David hosted “Trucks!”?
Need, no. Want, yes
Wow that is a heavy engine as a 5.0 is only about 50 lbs more than a 2.3
So if one was to...idk, 🤷🏾♂️ v8 swap his 4 cylinder ranger...how big of a trailer could one tow?
This new engine is gonna be Lit!!!
I am confused, if it is a mazda why is he calling it a ranger?
He explained it at the beginning. It's a rebadged Ford Ranger. Ford used to own Mazda. Mazda supplied Ford with vehicles and engines such as the Ford Escort and the Probe. Both of which were rebadged Mazdas. The Probe had different body work though. In return Ford helped with funding and allowed Mazda to rebadge the Ranger as a Mazda since Mazda didn't have a truck at the time.
Thats one of the worst sounding exhausts, it sounds like the mini bike or worse.
It's funny though because that stock marauder engine in that ranger would probably beat a lightning.
That thing sounds in 5/6 cylinders from the first day. That, or the exhaust is awful
The exhaust does sound terrible, almost like it's got a cracked or leaky manifold.
I would agree lol
It is a 2 valve Ford and Ford so that's the problem
@@jeffreyelliott8912 not a 2v
@@jeffreyelliott8912 or the exhaust just sounds bad. Still sounds better than any Chevy I've heard though.
What we have here is a $20K vehicle that's maybe work $5K. But $20K is a lot cheaper than anything Stacey David does.
Got cats heating up the area? Simple, just take them off. You won't have overheated parts from the cat if you don't have any cat.
That's Mazda! B2500
Do this with a Colorado with a LS
Good luck finding one that hasn't rusted away. Solid trucks from that time frame are pretty hard to find.
B4600
I'm here
That truck needs a drop kit fast
Let the loose strings and heavy drum rolls rip...
The Mazda logo is confusing me
so you can make your own white walls? this is great! and dont get all in a huff about safety...im doing it to my wifes car
Haha so tipical Ford first drive lol
Where is the Ford Ranger in all of this?
Now, they're doing the block @home where the tech guys are hiding in a closet
Lol sounds like an old farm truck
I wanna do this to my Expedition so bad! A 2V to 4V swap should be easier than this was.😬
George Martin Sr. It’s a very easy swap, go for the 5.4 4V though! & you might as well do cams while the engine is out.
If your expedition is a 97 to 02. The Navigator was the same truck but in 99-02 used a 32 valve DOHC 5.4 "intech" instead of the SOHC 16v engine that the expedition used... Since they are essentially the same truck it is a real easy swap and right now all The Navigators and Expeditions are hitting the junk yards in droves as they are at the right age do hit the "end of thier useful life".
@@AtomicReverend this
How about a Harley Davidson 5.4 or a Shelby 5.4
But the spark plugs on a 4V run on a reverse signal compared to the 2V. So, you still might need a stand-alone engine management system. I was thinking of the 4.6 4V only because mines has a 4.6 already.
Locomotives also have big engines , also turbos …. sky is the limit .
Sad part is these little pickups are so light at the rear and nose heavy they can’t get any traction plus don’t handle well either. Hell even the stock six poppers spin the tires all the time, so what I am saying is without a lot of suspension and loss of comfort item mods this is a waste of time. The only way this works is by making a full race rig.
I had a feeling that engine was going to give you grief. Why don’t you guys throw in a 351 Windsor with an E4OD from a Lightning in there? 🤔
It would just spin in circles and destroy tires. 🤔 would be interesting
The 351W would go in better but I believe you'd still have to modify the hvac box. A 302 is basically a direct bolt in, in a 3rd gen Ranger.
13 pounds of boost gains 85 whp? Do what now
100... grats Kevin. Well done. By all.
