The worst part is you have all these guys, (especially wrestlers like dc and Henry cejudo and then of course Dana a bit) talking about how bo could beat khazmat and smoke guys in the top 5, and then he ends up fighting substitute teachers.
He has limited experience and a championship ceiling. Almost every real prospect gets moved along slowly. Dudes record is like 5-0. It would be terrible business to have him fight killers this early. This is how you build hype and create a star. I don’t understand why you’re personally offended by it. It doesn’t affect you at all.

It’s also terrible business to make a fighter who should be extremely popular and relatable to ufc fans disliked because he is overhyped. If he is as good as they make him sound, why should he be fighting scrubs and not at least people who can challenge him? He’s 28 years old and one of the greatest collegiate wrestlers ever. I feel like if he was fighting another up and coming great fighter there wouldn’t be as much dissent about it being on the main card but he’s going up against a guy who’s pretty much a jobber so it’s obviously manufactured to give him a big stage victory and greater hype.
Not every fan can afford a $80 PPV monthly. Putting someone like Jiri on the Prelims does nothing to effect his pay but it gives UFC fans an exciting fight for free showing that UFC cares about them too. If the prelims were filled with women's MMA and jobbers that'd be so disrespectful for what UFC 300 stands for. Y'all should be cheering Dana for this

We'd like him if he didn't flip flop between wanting a challenge and fighting normal upticks in challenge. Nobody would be mad if it was a good opponent that makes you truly question if Bo can win. Bo Nickal reminds me of Sean O Malley in the sense that he's the UFC"s latest project they are trying to artificially make into a star by promoting and hyping him up unjustly. Even if he lives up to expectations like Sean O Malley did, he'll never truly be a fan favorite as he's not a real star and hadn't had the time to really make himself into a character that the fans enjoy. Since some fighters can have very humble and meek beginnings and become stars once they finalize what they truly are like Charles Olivera, Or simply by being too badass like Alex Pereira which Bo Nickal can do neither
Pereira is literally the same as Bo, protected and favored with stylistic matchups. Guarantee Bo is going to shoot into title contention without having to do even half the work that some of the other guys do.

As a boxing fan of 18 years before switching to focusing more on MMA(I’ll still watch the big cards though). For me its trauma from all the can crushing and undefeated fraudsters in boxing trying to be floyd without fighting the same level of competition.
Bo has fought a bunch of debutee’s or fighters no longer in the UFC with his best opponent being brundage which is rough to say the least. Alex was paired tougher with a kickboxing background to boot which isn’t as good a background as wrestling. So bo should be matched the same hell if the debutee’s he fought were hyped prospects it would be okay but they are bums
He's in a industry implant who they are trying to replicate the success of their biggest star who will retire soon. Connor himself pushed the UFC into the next stratosphere and it would not be the same without his existence. Just like the countless undefeated and young prospects in boxing and these ones in the UFC , almost all of them will be groomed for a long time till they will eventually beat a bottleneck of a real contender and fail to preform and crumble underneath all the pressure that has been built on their backs for their entire life in some cases
I like Bo and I'm super excited for his future in the UFC especially with the way his skills are developing. I think the UFC is being pretty clumsy in the way they're pushing him though.
Absolutely, I think Bo has the potential to be a legend of the sport, but they've gotta grow his career organically. I feel like the UFC is trying almost to make a new McGregor outta any interesting new talent, but I dont think it's even possible with the amount of great fighters there are currently

Gaethje Holloway, hill pereira and Oliveira Tsarukyan would still carry a card even if the other fights are horrible.

I do believe there’s a such thing as earning it before you get the big stage. The background success of a fighter plays a huge part in their potential both as an athlete and a star. I believe they should have done Bo Nickal Vs Chris Whideman because it wouldve been more deserveing of main card since Chirs is former champ and it wouldve been a good step up for Bo Nickal.
The fact that he is on the main card is not the biggest problem, he is fighting an absolute tomato can that we all know he can beat, if he fought a guy that was at least somewhat decent, someone like ikram, bruno silva or maybe even paul craig the fans would appreciate him a lot more. But obviously dana wont want his young and promotable star getting caught in a triangle in the last second of the fight against paul so theyre gonna keep feeding cans to him.

Fighting low-level guys is normal and even good when you first get to the UFC. For people who only watch UFC, it might seem like some random guy getting special treatment. His accilites and star power in wrestling is why he earned his spot. Pereira got special treatment because he was double champ in another sport, and that seems fair to me.

We then saw when he fought Izzy that a decent high school senior could take him down and hold him. It was pretty clear he was pushed through to fight Izzy as soon as possible. O’Malley was more heavily pushed than Bo has been so far and then some how managed to climb rankings without actually beating anyone worth a damn. then got set up with the best possible matchup with Yan, then grabbed the fence 30 times and never got any repercussions. then got gifted a decision in said fight. I still enjoy the fights (hardly because of the judges these days) but to the clearly paid off judges, the ufc corruption forcing industry plants down our throats, to trying to force Holly's old ass down our throats knowing she's washed hell to high water, and these shill reporters asking autistic questions is why I will never respect the ufc, just certain fighters who go out there and put it all on the line. The ufc has went full boxing mode, rankings never matter, certain "champs" are allowed to duck certain fights, judges are horrendous like I said, and production value overall has gone down. Has anyone else also noticed that they stopped doing open media work outs? I remember even a few years ago, on average a card fight night or ppv would have like 20-25 fights, we're lucky if we get like 12-15 a card now. They expect us to pay more for less now, I guess that applies for everything else in the world in general but I guess UFC is no exception.
