His views on the force were always kinda looked down on by other master, but he ended up being right. If more Jedi had thought like him and opened themselves up to his ways, they may've been able to prevent Sidious' rise to power. Unfortunately, the masters on the council were too arrogant and proud to admit that their ways weren't working. They kept trying to look into a future they knew was clouded and completely missed the danger that was right in front of them. There were things about the Force that even he didn't know, but Qui-Gon did. And Yoda was able to humble himself to the level of student to a man he once bemoaned for being too reckless and rebellious against the Jedi Council, because there was something about the Force that he needed to know, and it was no time to be a selfish teacher, but a student trying to learn something. It is cool to see Yoda's transformation from the Jedi leader of the Prequels with the weight of the world on his shoulders, burning him out in the process to the "I'm free" and happy-go-lucky Yoda Luke meets on Dagoba. He becomes again that Yoda who piles the weight of the world on himself trainig Yoda, one he is just waiting to be free from it all in Episode 6 and be the force ghost Obi Wan achieved under Qui Gon's froce Ghost training (funny scene too. Yoda waiting to die and transcend while Luke is yapping about his problems, and each time he lies down to transcend he look up at Luke like "dude I'm trying to leave, ok". Obi Wan's next adventure (this time related to Luke. Hopefully have a tie in with Maul's Crimson Dawn in it) we will have him training under Qui GOn and in their conversations so much can be fleshed out among themselves and SW lore.
